I punched a bloke in the face once for saying "Hawk the Slayer" was rubbish. The point is I was defending the fantasy genre with terminal intensity, when what I should have said is "Dad, you're right, but let's give Krull a try and we'll discuss it later."
For some reason, I can't keep away from this movie. It's so funky and off-the-wall. I suppose it's Jack Palance's snarling performance. And all those Brit character actors, who deliver the most ridiculous lines with such utter seriousness.
Just FYI.... The giant in this film also played the cyclops in KRULL. his real name was Bernard Bresslaw and you can fund him in many British comedies like Jabberwocky and the *Carry On* films.
haha that was great, CROW! what cracked me up was the annoying dwarf who sucks at escaping is the same goony bastard from prisoners of the lost universe, just a tad less annoying
After all these years I've just noticed that the "Monk" talking to the "Abbot" is also one of the Traders talking to Sped the Trader! (Actor Peter Benson).
I can’t believe they let the presence of a character named “Drogo” slip past them. I would have said. “He’s definitely no Khal Drogo. I don’t think he’s even Drogo Baggins (Frodo’s father. Not making this up).”
The problem with Rifftrax, why it never measures up to MST3K, is not Nelson et al., it's the material they're riffing. A truly BAD movie, kind that are so bad they're good, has an ineffable earnestness at about it. A bad movie is like a piece of macaroni art made by a 43 year old Downs Syndrome guy -- it's an absurd, incompetent, meaningless abortion, but you have to love it because it was sincerely meant to please. The old MST3K found comedy gold in those old sincerely bad movies Mike, Joel, and the bots vivisected. However modern bad movies, the kind Rifftrax likes to exploit, aren't really bad, they're just dreadfully dull.
To be fair, MST3K suffered from much the same problem... an absolute TON of source movies that were just duds that no amount of riffing could save. But in general I agree, the source movie never gets the credit it deserves. A good source movie that is enjoyably goofy on it's own does half of the heavy lifting before a single riff is written.
"Thanks to our witchcraft, we can slaughter with abandon!...We're the good guys, by the way." Very reminiscent of my D&D group. 😂
“Howard the Duck...I never...saw it”
90% of D&D groups are comprised of murder-hobos
20th Century warfare in a nutshell
Hawk the Slayer.
Or
The Royal Shakespeare Company Goes Into the Woods and LARPS.
The elf actor clearly auditioned for a vulcan on Star Trek The Motion Picture and he wasn't gonna let it go.

5 yrs later, 😆it just doesn't die
That's the greatest Thanksgiving ever!
Hawk The Slayer = not as good as Krull or Legend, way better than almost every bad movie Rifftrax has ever chosen.
For some reason, I can't keep away from this movie. It's so funky and off-the-wall. I suppose it's Jack Palance's snarling performance. And all those Brit character actors, who deliver the most ridiculous lines with such utter seriousness.
"And now shall I draw upon his forehead a wang forthwith."
That cracked me up!
The guy who played Hawk also played Jokers commander in Full Metal Jacket. “Joker, I had my ass in the grass, can’t say I liked it.”
Just FYI....
The giant in this film also played the cyclops in KRULL.

Makes sense. This movie kinda looks like Krull....except crappier.
@@tommybutler731 KRULL on a budget!
XD
He would have played the Monster in _Curse of Frankenstein_ , but Hammer went with the lowest bidder.
Does anyone else find it odd that Bill is talking to Crow at 7:13?
haha that was great, CROW!
what cracked me up was the annoying dwarf who sucks at escaping is the same goony bastard from prisoners of the lost universe, just a tad less annoying
"Why do my knuckles smell like Fiddle Faddle" is possibly my favorite Rifftrax line of all time xD Don't know why, it's just golden
An automatic repeating crossbow, or the world's worst editing? You be the judge.
+monkeymouse To quote that girl from the taco shell commercial: Why not both?
When I was a kid I thought they were a real thing. I wanted one pretty badly
it was called the Dokyu and it did exist as a weapon
this was one of my favorite films when i was young in the early 80s.
I'm surprised they weren't finishing every Jack Palance declaration with "Believe It or Not."
As a longtime fan of Robin of Sherwood, I think I would like Hawk the Slayer!
did they make any jokes about crow t. robot in the full episode
This video is hilarious, if I do SHOUT SO MYSELF!!!
ITS SHIT.
CROW JUMP!
The "Cats In The Cradle" riff was the best!! 😂😂😂😂
Love it when the guys let these pretentious movies have it good! This is one of the silliest movies they've done... 😝
Still has more plot than most of the Harry Potter films.
thats it for me. I'll be back when next the moon is full
So like, tuesday?
After all these years I've just noticed that the "Monk" talking to the "Abbot" is also one of the Traders talking to Sped the Trader! (Actor Peter Benson).
5:21
Woah, guy on the right. Isn't that "Fat Man" from Overdrawn at the Memory Bank?
The elf archers costume and character was pretty cool
6:35 I love rifftrax video toaster jokes!
Wasn't that a horizontal wipe? 😃
Jack Palance broke his jaw chewing the scenery.
i did laugh at these guys comments
Good ol' Fiddle Faddle.
I still love this movie, went to see it at the cinema about 5 times. The music is fantastic also. Great video. 👍
Great description! 😂
Crow jump, Crow jump, Crow jump, Crow jump, Crow Jump!
It's like a sword and sorcerer version of deadly strike
hawk! ah ah! saviour of... no one! hawk! ah ah!
The guy playing Hawk was cool, though
This film was light years beyond shit.
There are two types of people in this world. Those that think Hawk the Slayer is ace and there are wankers. Life is as simple as that I'm afraid.
Only thing this video is missing is the "Poorly Animated Hawk" segment
orginal game of thrones
Can you specify in the title when they are the live episodes?
Are they actually releasing the new Chipmunk movie on the same day as SW VII?
+Kubo Edgeworth What's really funny is that the poster for Chipmonks 4 actually says "Boys on the Hood".
How dare you !!! 😐 This is THE BEST fantasy movie ever !!! 😬 In need of a Remake for sure, but it's still amazing 👊🏻🎃👊🏻 Your vid is funny though 😬
I can’t believe they let the presence of a character named “Drogo” slip past them. I would have said. “He’s definitely no Khal Drogo. I don’t think he’s even Drogo Baggins (Frodo’s father. Not making this up).”
I've done my time in the bush. Lots of bugs and too dangerous .
So basically a Spencer's Gifts blew up at the end 🤔
Videotoaster!
Rifftrax aside, that is one seriously fucking weird movie.
Anyone else think the guy shot by an arrow at 4:08 looks like Alex Ovechkin?
Im sure Jack Palance trys to ignore this 🦃. Its Cops & Robertsons 1991 bad!!! 🎬
Redlettermedia!
Hey, at 4:19 the thief from Prisoners of the lost Universe! Yes, I'm a geek
Nope. You're just waving your freak flag high
No 'Darrrrgooooo!'?
DON'T CALL IT RUBBISH! DON'T CALL IT RUBBISH!
Hawk The Slayer's rubbish!
That was a horrible movie! Poorly edited, bad special effects, silly story, terrible acting - and I liked it very much. :D
I think I like slightly uglier Adrien Brody better than the real one...

I agree with you. Its kind of hit or miss at times. I mean like the Twilight rifftrax are gold. Star Wars however, not so much.
Please don't speak for all of us.

Shitty knockoff of mystery science theater 3000.
Hawk The Slayer's rubbish.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 you are not.
...These are the same people.
Actually, mst3k they ARE. 😀
“Sir it appears we have been afflicted with low budgetitis…”
