I gotta be honest this park has had issues even before the merger. My guess is that today was so bad because the park didn't anticipate the crowds for that day so they got a head work on slow season maintenance to ensure that everything can be on 2 train+ ops for the spring/summer.
bro there is nothing more frustrating than trying to purchase something, but the company has made it as convoluted and difficult as possible. Like, I'm trying to give you my money!
As a resident of Mississippi, out of all the Roller Coaster Tycoon parks in the world, I'd MUCH rather travel to Cedar Point, Hersheypark, Kings Island, SF Great America, SF Over Texas, Europa Park, or even Canada's Wonderland having 14 out of 18 of their coasters being rough and/or boring as heck + Energylandia even with 13 out of 19 of their coasters being family or kiddie ... When I travel afar to a park, I don't want to wait in a 2-3+ hour line or have 3-10 coasters shut down ... I'd prefer SFMM's lineup over any other Six Flags, CW, or Energylandia (overall) but after hearing the horror stories about this hellhole I wouldn't even go here on a Knotts / Cali Disney / Universal Hollywood trip ... for real.
As someone who has Magic Mountain as their home park, I can tell you that this probably won’t happen again on your next trip. Usually for every 1 bad trip, there is 1-3 good or average trips. Although that flash pass phenomenon is way too complicated.
SFMM will always be the hit or miss park. When I've had 2-3 okay trips in a row, I am ready for the pain on my next trip lol 10 out of 10 days exist. I've also experienced the park melt down due to crowds, winds, 1-train OPs, too many rides closed, you name it. I just laugh about it and go again in a month or two.
It is one of my home parks as well. I go all the time and know that it’s not always this bad. Just really sucks when it gets THAT bad. I know it can get better but the normal ppl who went that day might not know that. First impressions are important. When you’re spending $30 on parking, $80 to get in, $50 for food, it better be a damn good day.
bro you are my new favorite underground youtuber, i've been watching since you visited my home park (universal orlando) and every video has been a great watch, even if i had no idea some of these parks existed
Kings Island does have the best overall management/operations in my opinion. The only thing they could improve upon is having water cups at every food place.
The only caveat is when Kings Island has a Cedar Point-like crowd, the operational cracks become giant. They just don't have the policy that works for huge crowds of people coming from all over the place. No place that isn't Disney or Universal can handle the crowds day in and day out like they do on that Peninsula
@@TrueLies23 I agree Universal and Disney are the kings of throughput and operations. I went to Kings Island 20 times the last year and never once came close to "cedar point lines" except for Halloween times as that's expected. I account KI's success to having insanely high throughput on 3/4 of their top coasters. Orion, Diamondback and the Beast lines move so much faster then any of CP's "top 4".
@supremefan yep, that's exactly what I mean. Kings island isn't as busy all year. Once you stack those lines all day at KI(halloweekends)the cracks show in operations all around. I was only at KI 14 times throughout the year but my CP count was 62. It's difficult to deal with crowds day in and day out regardless of the park.
It does suck that you had this experience but this video needed to be made, and thank you for sharing your story. This park has been such a dumpster fire for decades when it comes to busy days. They are literally so incompetent, poorly trained, poorly operated and maintained, it’s just such a complete dumpster fire. And wtf $80 non refundable fees just to sign up for their flash pass? While you’re literally there. You should be able to sign up right there at the park and not pay those fees. Absolutely ridiculous! Cedar Fair has SO much hard work to do if they want to make this a truly great park like Cedar Point or Kings Island. Operationally all those Cedar Fair parks just massively shit all over SFMM. Great video, thanks bro for your hard work!
Magic Mountain is frustrating because it has all the thrills and wonder you could possibly want but it’s gatekept by being run by the most money-hungry corporation. This one was different but a good look at what they can be doing better! Been snowed in all week here and listening to someone bitch about something other than snow was refreshing. Love ya
I've had some pretty similar visits to Magic Mountain; unfortunately this type of day is not necessarily uncommon. It gets to the point where I am very careful about when I plan my trips so that I can be reasonably sure things will be operational and not overcrowded. The weather forecast says its windy? Cancel. Is it a major holiday week or especially weekend? Cancel. It's really only worth a visit on slow weekends in the off season, or better yet, Monday or Friday in the off season. Weekdays during March are good as well as long is it's not the end of the month. But I totally agree, it sucks that anyone should have to plan their trip that carefully to avoid getting scammed. It seems like the days of amusement parks being easy to go to and enjoy are behind us, because I've had similar issues at a lot of parks I have been to. And many parks just keep making decisions that actively worsen the issues that plagued you today. If they can make money in the short term and don't seem to be losing guests over it they really have no incentive to improve in a profit driven economic system.
You’re exactly right when you’re talking about the employee situation at magic mountain. I worked there for about 4 months and it was miserable on days like this. Keep in mind they hire as young as 14 years old so I was that age then. You absolutely were spot on though. Six flags is my home park and I hate to see days like this. Keep up the awesome videos!
Im almost done with the video and dude basically went to magic mountain to just walk around 😭 that’s the most unlucky experience ever. FACE RIPPED OFF 🗣️
Been awful both times I went. The last time was in December ‘21. I knew some rides like Batman (building WW) and Tatsu (painting) would be down. But then they had SMEFK, Twisted Colossus, Apocalypse, and more closed as well. Claimed it was because of rain the night before. It was ridiculous. I think of the 19 coasters they had at the time, 10 were open. Viper had a guy reading a book checking restraints. Again, 2021 so this was before SM was SNBO. Of course, one train ops. There was hope for Twisted Colossus, but then a worker came and told me they weren’t coming up at all that day (presumably so I didn’t just wait). This was after being told in the morning by a worker TC would be open in 30 mins and then at noon was told TC was open by guest services (it wasn’t nor had it opened yet that day). It had never opened. If even the guest services workers will openly and boldly lie to your face, you know they are complete trash. Point is, it’s a long history of this park being one of the worst in America operationally. Hopefully, the merger solves a lot of these problems. Like a few months ago when they committed to multi train operations by the end of this year.
As a ride operator at another socal park I cannot imagine the complaints these employees are getting and the fact that even if you somehow get guests to load faster and secure their restraints, one train ops means you won’t make up for time whatsoever. Just a nightmare for everyone involved.
@ when I’m at merge and guests complain about a rise in wait time because we lose a few ride vehicles or something, that can already be a lot. Godspeed to those magic mountain employees and screw corporate for not caring about efficiency!
As someone also grappling with numerous issues at both SoCal parks, I really appreciate you making this video. It's disheartening to see how Knott's and Magic Mountain have been poorly managed in terms of ride operations for what feels like forever. Recently, it seems like things have only gotten worse, likely in a bid to boost sales of Flash Passes and Fast Lane tickets. Regarding Apocalypse being closed, it's been undergoing retracking since November, which is quite a lengthy refurbishment period. It feels like coaster enthusiasts are in a tough spot right now: we adore these rides, but the parks' growing focus on revenue makes it hard for us to enjoy them. I completely agree with your point about having a better park experience, even if it means fewer new coasters. I'd much prefer waiting less than 60 minutes in line, even if that means we don't get a new coaster for 4+ years. Thank you for making this video-I loved your commentary and found it very entertaining.
Bruh revolution has been running one train for 2 years. Ever since six flags got that new ceo Selim Bassoul, the park has become a shitshow and a laughing stock now also due to their pathetic operations and their pathetic employees which makes it a pathetic experience and the CEO for six flags won’t accept that because he’s just sitting on his hands focusing on a new coaster instead of fixing other problems in the park
The best time to go in my opinion are the mornings during fright fest. It seems like the park is always pretty empty on these days and I am able to get in about 10 coasters in just a few hours
I have a friend who's been working at magic for years, and yes she said weather is everything! .....sometimes it'll open and close right then and there because of the weather.
My two kids and I traveled to MM one time and the park was closed, due to a water main break. We also travel about 2 1/2 hours to get to the park. We have always since then check the park online to one, see if it’s operating and two, to see which rides are down. So sorry over half the park rides were shut down.
I’m going on Friday the 17th because I haven’t been there since March of last year. Days like that are pretty rare to happen. All I know is a bad day at MM is when X2 is closed and running 1 train. But to have 8+ coasters closed on a day is unacceptable.
Watching your video for the first time. Love your style! You sound like you could be a brother or cousin of Doug Dugay of Valley Heat! Looking forward to more!
I canceled my diamond elite pass last year. I was a passholder since 2013. That park has legit gotten worse and worse. Food on a busy day can take 1-2 hours
These days exist but I went on New Year's Day and it was great. A real 9 out of 10 type of trip. Got 18 rides in total, including 2 on X2. And X2 opened with the park, which is the first time I've seen that.
@FaceRippedOff yeah I had no idea New Year's Day was such a good day to go. I looked up past wait times and noticed they were nothing like other busy days. And at night I noticed X2 had a 2 hour wait posted but I decided to check it out anyway and hardly anyone was there. It was a ghost town. Someone must have forgotten to update the wait time at night.
I love your content! It makes me thrilled to see more of your content. I do want to see if anyone can provide me with some advice or tips for making the most of a trip to SFMM and KBF. Also I'm entertaining the idea of going to Seaworld San Diego as well. I'll be flying in from Texas. How many days do I need to plan to spend at each park to hit all of the possible coasters? I really want to be able to scratch X2, Xcelerator, and Ninja specifically off my coaster bucket list. What is the best airport or recommended airport to fly into for this trip and how much is it going to suck to rent a car and drive to these places? I appreciate any advice you have.
You will 100% need a car. Magic Mountain is 1.5 hrs from KBF and SeaWorld is even further. KBF is a one day park. You'll be able to hit everything in a day. Do GhostRider last or get a oneshot fastlane. It will most likely be a 2+hr wait all day. Get in line right before park closing. It will be the longest wait by far. Go to Xcelerator at opening, itll be walk on and you can get tons of rides right away. For Magic Mountain. Things can be hit or miss. Hit X2 right at opening and then Tatsu second, Wonder Woman 3rd, TC 4th. I think you can do everything in a day at SFMM but if you are worried, plan 2 days. Worst thing that happens is you just get more rides lol. I would check any ride closures prior to going and if there is supposed to be high wind. For airport, it depends where you want to go first. There are a few options: LAX: will prob be the cheapest but it will take you a very long time to get in and out of there. John Wayne: Most convenient, located closer to KBF and Disneyland. Long Beach: Less options but in between KBF and SFMM. Burbank: Less options. Closer to SFMM San Diego: Only fly into here if you are going to SeaWorld. San Diego is like 3 hours south of LA and even longer with traffic. Do not eat the food at SFMM. It is dogshit and so expensive. Bring your own food. Knott's food is better for sure but I usually bring my own food to parks. In terms of crowd levels. Of course youll have better luck on weekdays. But not sure what days of the week youll be going. I hope this helps!
After seeing this video, I feel very fortunate for my first visit in July of 2024 to SFMM. I came from MI just to go to SFMM. Every coaster was operating for the 1.5 days I was there. Except for Superman, which I already had anticipated. On the full day I was there was a Saturday, I bought FPU and got on every coaster multiple times. The operations were on point and the park looked great. Cedar Point is my home park, and I was there two days before my trip, and I was thoroughly impressed w/ SFMM.
JESUS WTF HAPPENED I am so sorry this happened to you. I thought my day was bad when half the park was closed. At least I got on X2 Twisted and Tatsu. Also shoutouts to the Twisted Colossus crew. They know how to get a line moving. A few years ago I went and they managed to get a train out within 2 minutes at the absolute highest, and that 2 minute dispatch was ONLY because there was an ADA guest who had to be carried into his seat. As for Tatsu, If I had to guess it's probably just because it was having issues with its lift motor. That's been super common lately for that ride.
Idk if you know this, but you speak fluently in the language of mechanics. I feel like I'm listening to myself talk throughout this entire video and boy was it entertaining 😂
Back in early April I got on only 3 rides because Tatsu was running 1 train and it broke down twice while we were in line. Took 3 1/2 hours lmao. I kept telling myself “we’re almost to the front, might as well wait” It was also my first time on Tatsu
I went quite literally the next day and ops were on point! Waited 45 mins max for twisted colossus (twice!) Wonder Woman was back up and at night that ride is absolutely insane. Had a total of 10 rides in about 7 hrs
my one experience at six flags magic mountain had X2 and Tatsu closed and was the year before Wonder Woman came out, so I was also severely disappointed in my experience there. hoping to make it back out someday though!
My first (real) time going to SFMM was Dec 27th 2023 and I was inside the park at 11AM until last train on Twisted Colossus and only got 5 rides in the whole day. 1. Viper (1hr+ wait) - 1 hour wait for pizza (they were running 1 window ops) 2. X2 (3.5hr wait) 3. Full Throttle (1hr+ wait, but was the shortest line at the time) - Dinner only took about half an hour 4. Wonder Woman (1+hr wait) 5. Twisted Colossus (Barely made it into the queue before they closed it, got back row on the last train of the night) It was rough. And I'm from AZ so my only chance to go is when my wife wants to go to Disneyland lmao.
TH-cam recommended this video to me. Was delightfully surprised by all the hardcore references. Also read the channel description and curious What band are you in ?
During labor day six flags had an all flash pass parks for 2024/2025 for 300 bucks. My friend and i bought one, what a deal. It makes visiting sooo much more enjoyable. I've used it once at over texas, 2x at great america and 5x at mm. :)
lol, SFMM has been this way for years. It’s not the merger. Let’s see how the legacy CF parks look and how the end of this year looks before making a judgment.
@@edwardbloom6999 100% SFMM has massive operations issue with staffing and hopefully cedar will come in and fix all of that. Also to note SFMM has a lot of cleanliness problems in the park. By comparison to CP or KI, they are a dump.
@ last time I was there, there was literally a pile of trash in the Ninja queue within an hour of park opening. That tells me that all that trash had been there at least a day, if not more (it was a weekday so it’s not like it was busy, even if so, not enough foot traffic at ninja to have built a pile of trash that big in an hour)
I've only been twice in the last 20 years and half the rides have always been closed, sadly it's always the best rides too. Hope CP can fix Six Flags operations issues.
I went on the same day as you with my uncle and brother, it was unacceptable with the operations and closed rides. We were there from 12-close and maybe got on 4 rides. We came from Arizona and wouldve been extra disappointed if we didnt get the season pass lol
Anytime I've been to magic mountain in the last like 8 years I wanna say, they've only ever ran one train, so even on slow days it takes forever to wait for that ride.
I went the day after and it was crowded and had bad operations, but all coasters not having maintenance ended up opening. I got to ride X2 for the first time but only got on 4 rides. Those churros are not it.
I feel like SFMM can be so bipolar with operations. I remember going when they were open everyday. Going on a weekday was an awesome experience during that time. I took my nephew last year during a Sunday/Monday and both days were great. Went back again on Sunday/Monday, and Monday operations were terrible compared to Sunday. Night and day difference. I honestly have to recommend people avoid Mondays after that experience.
I had better experiences at Knotts than Magic mountain I still go to both parks, but I felt that universal and Knotts are better quality, the problems are ops even before the merger, I hope the park is improved by cedar fair execs to give the operation levels of kings island
I haven’t been to a lot of different parks but I’ve been to a few. KI in my opinion definitely has the best operations of any park that I’ve been to. I might be a little biased because it’s my home park though 😂
Kings Island is probably my #1. Being near Orlando, I have 7 (soon to be 8) parks close. No park is as consistent throughout it as KI has been on every trip. I made my first trip to CP this past year and was shocked how the operations were not on KI’s level. I do temper it some with it being early/mid June, but KI was great at the same time..
@@edwardbloom6999 I went to ki back in October on a Sunday and did cedar point on a Friday. Maybe it was the day I went but cedar point operations were butter smooth for me. Ki on the other hand had good coaster operations but their customer service was dog shit. My fast lane pass ripped off in the middle of a ride TWICE! They reused to get me a new one so I was forced to buy one, after the first time ripped off it happened again on the bat. I think they had a faulty set of bands since I went back to the original booth I went to get a replacement and they refused me. I guess there are some line jumping problems there that cedar point doesn't have in comparison. One thing I learned about ki is that whatever you're are doing, take pictures for proof or they will automatically think you're lying and or trying to use the system. I wish they were more like knotts where they take a pic of you for validation.
Went the same day as you from 1130 to close and my party of 3 only rode 5 rides :(. First time we ever went on a Saturday, never ever ever going on a Saturday again.
Was able to finish the video and have some more info for you: You said that they should tell customers the dates certain rides will be closed. They tried that haha Apocalypse and Goliath were originally supposed to re-open at the end of the December and this was on their web site. But it was obvious they weren't going to meet those dates and they changed Apocalypse to January 5th and Goliath to January 11. Apocalypse has yet to open. Who knows if Goliath will open this weekend. So even if they publish dates, there's no guarantee they are going to meet those dates.
I more meant I wish they could tell u some way before u go. I know they’d never do that. Mainly talking about weather. Maybe have something on their app that says “high winds may impact operations and ride closures”. U can predict wind and know it’s gonna be a windy way.
God I went a year and a bit ago and it sucked. Half of everything good was closed forcing us to go another day to see that Goliath and a few other were still closed, but at least Escape from Krypton was open the second day. That was on top of everything being dirty, overcrowded and overpriced. I had to buy a flash pass too. I vowed to not go back without good reason because the second day was so bad.
The company doesn't pay their employees a decent wage and they don't put any money into the park for existing attractions. The only money they spend is to build new rides so they can advertise them to get people to come to the park. All they care about is getting people thru the turnstile
I buy flash passes every once couple years and I always know they take a while to activate but everything should have been done at the flash pass station. Last time i bought it, there was only one competent person out of 5 who guided everyone else how help their customer. Magic mountain has lots employees out the loop on lots details it seems or lack the proper training.
The worst visit to magic mountain that I've had was at the end of 2019, worst visit by far. I only rode Goliath and Ninja, park was slammed you could barely walk on the pathway. I made a vow to never return to magic mountain or any other theme park at the end of the year ever again. But overall I've had better visits since
I’ve had so many different experiences… dec 29th 3 trains- not one race. Team loading the trains were super slow and chatting too much. I tried again as I have fast past, same thing. Not even close to a race as 2 trains just sat on the brake run much of the time. Ninja…super bumpy! Omg each ride I thought it was its last lol😂 My flash pass experience sounds pretty much identical to yours with clueless employees telling you to keep going to other departments
I’m mean ever since they started closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I think even Monday six flags started to get inconvenient but I think they still open Thursday and or Monday with a flash pass would be a good day probably
My hope was cedar fair cleanliness, ability to turn a profit, and it’s somewhat attempt at theming. Six flags Adrenalin in rides would have a resurgence on itself and rub off on cedar fair. So far this new company sucks more than the old companies separately. 😢
They want to operate 12 months a year but this is what you get. Maybe in the summer they are 2-3 train ops and everything firing on all cylinders… at least that’s the hope
@@jalenpadilla7744 and they keep getting rid of rides to make room for new ones. Log Jammer closed for Full Throttle, Deja Vu closed and relocated, Tidal Wave closed to make room for Wonder Woman. There’s less water rides now where only 2 remain, Roaring Rapids and Jet Stream. Though only those 2 are good to ride in summer and not winter.
Better expect it. I flew over from Europe in 2023 and got a season pass, we visited 3 times in one week just hoping that X2 would open at any of the days. We even tried on the day of our return flight. When we landed in Heathrow the next day I checked and saw that X2 had reopened. There is a good chance I will never experience X2 in my life.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is just as bad with closing their rides and NOT posting at the gate. Guess that this is How SF parks have gotten on the West Coast, and that is a sham/e! Sorry you had such a shit day. Richard
I went Tuesday and so much was closed. Your list and more. 5 hour drive there. It was windy, I get it, but wow. Then they closed all day on Wednesday so I went to Knott's where everything was open besides Calico Rapids, lol.
@FaceRippedOff you pay extra in order to avoid the lines, it makes the difference between being able to ride all the roller coasters in one day, or only ride 4-5 and some of them having to be the mediocre ones or the old ones which you have ridden in the past. I always do VIP and avoid the lines, finish early and also avoid the lines at closing in the parking lot.
@@bajaboy27 yes of course it’s going to be better. I just don’t think you should need to purchase that in order to experience most of the park. Plus some people cannot afford it and it’s stupid that only the people who can afford it can have a good time at the park.
@FaceRippedOff lol we're actually planning a trip to six flags in the next month or two, I suggested everyone buy the fast pass or VIP or whatever it's called in six flags, some else suggested going on a weekday other than Friday, which is also an option if someone doesn't want to pay the extra money which it could be as much as double the price of a regular ticket. Personally, I don't mind spending the extra money, mostly because I hate having to stand in line for 2 hours for a 15 second ride(Superman), and that's always my first go to ride when I enter the park, it's fast and quick gets the adrenaline rushing and after that all the other rides are more enjoyable. To me that is. Cheers 🍻
I haven’t been to Magic Mountain since the late 90’s early 2000’s, but it was always an absolute blast back then…. Sorry to hear you had a bad time because I have nothing but great memories from Magic Mountain. But then… I haven’t even been to Disney or Universal since 2013-2014 and Ive spent nearly 1,000 days at Disneyland, throughout my life. I used to be a theme park enthusiast… an amusement hound so to speak. I used to have annual passes to Disney. The entire industry has gone downhill for the better part of two decades. Theme parks and Amusement parks are becoming more expensive, with cheaper experiences, and are far less fun. I refuse to go to Disney while Genie exists. Fast-pass was bad enough before they started charging for it. Also.. rides break down all the time now. They used to break down very rarely and were always back up within the same day. Usually within a two hour window. Magic Mountain never once had a ride down while I was there except once when Montezuma’s revenge was down for about an hour and that was it. Ever. I feel sad for young people. Yall missed out on the sweet spot of amusement parks. The rides may be fancier now, but they break down all the time.
@@jandrew1994 tbh they r much closer to magic mountain than Knotts rn. Magic mountain is def at much higher risk since its surrounded by brush. Hoping the winds stay low over the next few days

FACE RIPPED OFF 🗣️
dude your channel is my new favorite. please keep it up if you can
That's the plan!
28:53
That MJ Joke freakin killed me man
XD
As a ride operator at another socal park I cannot imagine the complaints these employees are getting and the fact that even if you somehow get guests to load faster and secure their restraints, one train ops means you won’t make up for time whatsoever. Just a nightmare for everyone involved.
@@dpcjoe411 absolutely! Sucks for the employees cause they are the ones hearing all the gripe from the guests when it’s not their fault at all.
@ when I’m at merge and guests complain about a rise in wait time because we lose a few ride vehicles or something, that can already be a lot. Godspeed to those magic mountain employees and screw corporate for not caring about efficiency!
I'M DYING AT THE MICHAEL JACKSON COMPARISON HAHA
Here's to hoping they kick him out now that the merger got approved. No excuse for rewarding incompetence.
This isn't an off day, this is how all Six Flags parks are now, everyday all the time. Half the attractions closed is the new normal for Six Flags.
“I’m a little b boy who loves coasters” Valid crash out, I’d say the same thing lol
The best time to go in my opinion are the mornings during fright fest. It seems like the park is always pretty empty on these days and I am able to get in about 10 coasters in just a few hours
I know I always say this… but I’m so excited that you posted agaiiiinnnnn!!!!
Thanks for hanging out!!
Six flags: You didn’t die did you?
Looking forward to more!
yes i did watch this entire 30 minute video of Face Ripped Off shitting on six flags... and it was awesome
I canceled my diamond elite pass last year. I was a passholder since 2013. That park has legit gotten worse and worse. Food on a busy day can take 1-2 hours
I love you too
I love the dystopian final fantasy VII slums song 😂 it perfectly fits this slum of a theme park
These days exist but I went on New Year's Day and it was great. A real 9 out of 10 type of trip. Got 18 rides in total, including 2 on X2.
And X2 opened with the park, which is the first time I've seen that.
@@Spokker that’s amazing!
I went on 12/31 and it was a ghost town after 3:00PM and stayed open until 10
There are a few options:
LAX: will prob be the cheapest but it will take you a very long time to get in and out of there.
John Wayne: Most convenient, located closer to KBF and Disneyland.
Long Beach: Less options but in between KBF and SFMM.
Burbank: Less options. Closer to SFMM
San Diego: Only fly into here if you are going to SeaWorld.
I hope the Cedar Fair higher ups who now run six flags see this I had a similar experience at over Georgia last year.
It should be criminal to be open and have all those attractions closed for the day. Completely unacceptable.
This shit is my mind of humor hell yeah bro I’m subbing
After seeing this video, I feel very fortunate for my first visit in July of 2024 to SFMM. I came from MI just to go to SFMM. Every coaster was operating for the 1.5 days I was there. Except for Superman, which I already had anticipated. On the full day I was there was a Saturday, I bought FPU and got on every coaster multiple times. The operations were on point and the park looked great. Cedar Point is my home park, and I was there two days before my trip, and I was thoroughly impressed w/ SFMM.
@@bcaliber7028 I’m so glad u had a good day! I’ve had plenty of good days at MM, but I’ve also had plenty of bad days.
JESUS WTF HAPPENED
I am so sorry this happened to you.
Lmao that’s amazing. I am definitely not a mechanic. But shout out all the mechanics
Love the KI t-shirt! Its a great park❤
my favorite channel rn and i dont even ride rollercoasters like that
Back in early April I got on only 3 rides because Tatsu was running 1 train and it broke down twice while we were in line. Took 3 1/2 hours lmao. I kept telling myself “we’re almost to the front, might as well wait”
It was also my first time on Tatsu
I hope u enjoyed your ride on Tatsu!
@ oh it’s amazing. I apologize about the mini rant. Six Flags just needs to find a way to be better with their operations
I went quite literally the next day and ops were on point! Waited 45 mins max for twisted colossus (twice!) Wonder Woman was back up and at night that ride is absolutely insane. Had a total of 10 rides in about 7 hrs
I’m glad to hear that!!!
my one experience at six flags magic mountain had X2 and Tatsu closed and was the year before Wonder Woman came out, so I was also severely disappointed in my experience there. hoping to make it back out someday though!
My first (real) time going to SFMM was Dec 27th 2023 and I was inside the park at 11AM until last train on Twisted Colossus and only got 5 rides in the whole day.
1. Viper (1hr+ wait)
- 1 hour wait for pizza (they were running 1 window ops)
2. X2 (3.5hr wait)
3. Full Throttle (1hr+ wait, but was the shortest line at the time)
- Dinner only took about half an hour
4. Wonder Woman (1+hr wait)
5. Twisted Colossus (Barely made it into the queue before they closed it, got back row on the last train of the night)
It was rough. And I'm from AZ so my only chance to go is when my wife wants to go to Disneyland lmao.
tatsu was closed around a week ago too so it could be haveing some technical difficulties
TH-cam recommended this video to me. Was delightfully surprised by all the hardcore references. Also read the channel description and curious What band are you in ?
I was there the last Sunday of the year and so many rides were on 1 Train Ops. Tatsu did add a 2nd train. With 30 mins left in the park..
During labor day six flags had an all flash pass parks for 2024/2025 for 300 bucks. My friend and i bought one, what a deal.
It makes visiting sooo much more enjoyable. I've used it once at over texas, 2x at great america and 5x at mm. :)
Magic Mountain has fallen off immensely from its glory days of 95-2010.
At least it was sunny! I am already sick of waiting for spring.
Great Adventure runs like shit too.
I hope this isn’t the new normal from the merger.
lol, SFMM has been this way for years.
That tells me that all that trash had been there at least a day, if not more (it was a weekday so it’s not like it was busy, even if so, not enough foot traffic at ninja to have built a pile of trash that big in an hour)
the definition of a six flags day right here
Nothing hits like hearing the music in the background kick in haha
I've only been twice in the last 20 years and half the rides have always been closed, sadly it's always the best rides too. Hope CP can fix Six Flags operations issues.
I went on the same day as you with my uncle and brother, it was unacceptable with the operations and closed rides. We were there from 12-close and maybe got on 4 rides. We came from Arizona and wouldve been extra disappointed if we didnt get the season pass lol
Dang all the way from AZ I’m sorry that’s the day u ended up going :(
Anytime I've been to magic mountain in the last like 8 years I wanna say, they've only ever ran one train, so even on slow days it takes forever to wait for that ride.
I went the day after and it was crowded and had bad operations, but all coasters not having maintenance ended up opening. I got to ride X2 for the first time but only got on 4 rides. Those churros are not it.
Tatsu is always closed and randomly opens 2 hours before the park closes
What day did you go on? Kids were still on Xmas break until the 5th
Why couldnt sfmm get an axis coaster and wtf is a vekoma thrill glider
Lookup Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster called Na Fianna Force in Ireland, new coaster will most likely be as good if not better.
I only been there once and the problem is it takes too long to get there from where I live in Orange County.
Nosferatu reference was hilarious! Try the funnel cake at knotts next time you go. It blows magic mountains out of the water!
Haven’t been to Knotts in 5 years and my last visit to SFMM was in 2021 for Fright Fest
It sucks that you had a bad visit , but loved the fact the she was wearing a Beast shirt .
Saaaaame haha. I’ve got the same shirt too
@FaceRippedOff i have a very similar one.
The FF7 music threw me off because I've been grinding a playthrough recently. But my game isn't on and I'm like where's the music coming from?!!
Hahaha amazing
Went the same day as you from 1130 to close and my party of 3 only rode 5 rides :(. First time we ever went on a Saturday, never ever ever going on a Saturday again.
I’ve been on plenty of saturdays and it’s never been even close to that bad tbh. That day was especially bad
Was able to finish the video and have some more info for you:
You said that they should tell customers the dates certain rides will be closed. They tried that haha
Apocalypse and Goliath were originally supposed to re-open at the end of the December and this was on their web site.
I've always thought of six flags magic mountain the cedar point of the west even though it's no where near as good as cedar point.
It def is with their ride lineup. Cedar point is so much nicer though and has more quality in their coasters and presentation
But overall I've had better visits since
I wish they could get a new park president, like the guy at Fiesta Texas or whomever he has groomed as a replacement.
If magic mountain was like fiesta Texas, I think it’d outperform knott’s and compete with Disney and universal.
Also the OP sounds like he was smoking a bunch of pot while making this video
I’ve had so many different experiences… dec 29th 3 trains- not one race. Team loading the trains were super slow and chatting too much. I tried again as I have fast past, same thing. Not even close to a race as 2 trains just sat on the brake run much of the time. Ninja…super bumpy! Omg each ride I thought it was its last lol😂
My flash pass experience sounds pretty much identical to yours with clueless employees telling you to keep going to other departments
I’m mean ever since they started closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I think even Monday six flags started to get inconvenient but I think they still open Thursday and or Monday with a flash pass would be a good day probably
Ironic that Ninja, the ride that is NEVER open any more was one of the rides running lmao
@@dannyhopkins2329 for real tho lol
My hope was cedar fair cleanliness, ability to turn a profit, and it’s somewhat attempt at theming. Six flags Adrenalin in rides would have a resurgence on itself and rub off on cedar fair. So far this new company sucks more than the old companies separately. 😢
You NEED to go on Orion in kings island one of my all time favorites
@@blckn_yellow3707 check out my kings island video!!!
Shit.
I fully came here prepared to defend my home park, but yeah I stand by everything you said. So frustrating
I'm so concerned about visiting Magic Mountain because I know there's a healthy chance some of my bucket list rides could be closed.
Better expect it. I flew over from Europe in 2023 and got a season pass, we visited 3 times in one week just hoping that X2 would open at any of the days. We even tried on the day of our return flight. When we landed in Heathrow the next day I checked and saw that X2 had reopened. There is a good chance I will never experience X2 in my life.
we went on jan 3 and the lines were like 1.5 hour max. it wasn't good but it definitely wasnt as bad as this holy hell
BIG ASS TRUCK MENTIONED. UR MOSHIN’
I saw someone say six flags is like you and some high school buddies found an abandoned theme park and started operating the rides
Reason why you buy the VIP pass avoid the long lines.
I don't think people should have to pay extra to have to ride everything in the park if they're there from open to close.
Cheers 🍻
Omggg I love hola adios!! I love Tustin 🥰
I remember Disneyland when they still had the paper fast passes. Incredible. You could go for a reasonable price and get on everything easily.
I'm hoping Cedar Fair turns this ship around. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Fortunately the fires are very far away from both Magic Mountain and Knotts.
@@jandrew1994 tbh they r much closer to magic mountain than Knotts rn. Magic mountain is def at much higher risk since its surrounded by brush. Hoping the winds stay low over the next few days
love having a friend thats slightly autistic, went on almost everyride in the park 🤣
2 hours to get there? Lucky. I have to go 5 hours.
