The iconic Clod Buster, first released 35 years ago, still attracts a huge amount of interest and that tells you that it captured the imagination of RC enthusiasts world-wide. It may not be the best performing machine but it has the authentic classic monster truck feel to it that few other products have managed to replicate.

I've still got my Clod, and my Nitro Crusher. And, my original MOA crawler built from clod axles and a lexan Nissan Hardbody. That thing was built around 20 years ago. Way before you could buy crawler stuff. Have fun, and be well 🙂👍
I love and own mostly traxxas because that's what my local hobby shop deals by being a premier seller. I do wish there was a local place that sold kits so you can build them. Nothing teaches you more than building a car or truck from the ground up
I'm not saying Traxxas is junk but I would definitely suggest you try another brand. Just to experiment with and compare for yourself. Just cause they strictly sell Traxxas cause Traxxas is Traxxas and gotta be all Traxxas about it doesn't mean you have to be a Traxxas freak to😂. Really though you'd be surprised what you find
When you mentioned classic iconic trucks I actually think of 3. I think the Tamiya Clod Buster and the Tamiya Blackfoot. The third truck was for racing. The Team Associated RC10t truck. Thoughts?
I found an old used & abused clod back in 2004 or 05, used the axles to build a super class crawler. Couldn't buy a crawler at that time. Shortly after Axial released their first crawler on the market, and they've came a very long ways since then

The 1/10 Clod Buster is what started the Monster Truck RC world and was the Base of what we have today the 1/5 Primal RC Raminator Monster Truck to Enjoy!!!!
It's dual motor on axle. It doesn't have a singular transmission or drive shafts. Any delay is in the dual speed controller or axle play, which the clod had plenty of.
when those came out they cost too much so i got the blackfoot , rc10l , rc10l4, hpi savage , savage xl , savage 5t , hyperdrive pro3 , custom works agressor , hpi hellfire , scx10 , injora rock buggy, armma kraton, armma typhon , armma kraton8s roller , scx6 axled iron hammer , next is a heavy metal garage tube chassis 1/5 kraton rock bouncer wich will be my last r/c .

The clodbuster is one of my favorite rc trucks I got im afraid to bring it to Florida for uste it's been a show truck for years

I think the Blackfoot and Pumpkin came out first. But the Clod was the first proper RC 4x4x4 monster truck.

I noticed in a lot of the slow mo shots the rear tires are delayed from the fronts is this just driveshaft flex or transmission play.
