    This actually proves that most jobs you do not need degrees. Degrees do not prove that you are more capable than anyone else in the workforce. These people were able to do these jobs at a high level and be successful enough to the point where one of them even retired and nobody knew. My point is degrees to not make you look any better than any other person at any other job what it does is make you look better than someone who is capable of doing your job without a degree. Our education system is shit

We had a female, whose only patrol experience was 6 months with a training officer, she was promoted to Sgt. He degree was in Art. The problem? Every arrest or report she approved, was worthless. Prior to the push for College degrees, experience count. After? A guy who couldn't get promoted got a Masters degree and soon promoted. The problem? Every arrest he ever made was rejected by the DA's office because they were bad arrests.

    So wait does this mean when employers do a background check they have no idea if our degrees are real or not, Do employers even check to verify whether our degrees are legit?

    • @sparkzbarca
      @sparkzbarca 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on if they can.
      The thing is there are ALOT of schools and while many have electronic means of shipping transcripts around and such, some even legal ones probably do not.
      But there is no Master list of all legit colleges.

      @@sparkzbarca.... I was a government Investigator when I first retired from the military. There's indeed a list of fake and suspect universities and colleges! If you have a degree from one of them and try to utilize it for a job with a security clearance, I'll guarantee you will get grilled!

      In public service, the corrupt ones usually move up quickly by doing sketchy things like this. This started when background checks were expensive and more lax. The employees that faked qualifications got far quickly and opened the door for friends and family members to do the same. There's a reason why these guys know better than to claim a degree when asked and technically didn't confirm it on paper but wrote something there anyway. They know what to do to achieve some sense of plausible deniability.

    • @sparkzbarca
      @sparkzbarca 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't believe lying on your resume is actually a crime.
      I expect the worst they could do is fire you.
      Even prominent CEOs for example have been caught out lying about degrees. Not fake universities in that case. But lying saying they graduated from Cal Tech and school has no record kind of thing.
      The thing is MAYBE if they wrote "any misinformation and you agree to pay us X" so you could kind of fine them through contract or something.
      But lying to regular people isn't illegal. It's first amendment stuff

    Yeah but what if you know the skills and nobody believes you. That’s when I’d say it’s worth faking it. I’m not talking about some super high end job like a surgeon. I’m talking about those job postings on indeed that require an associates degree and pay 6-10 dollars more an hour. Take for instance manufacturing positions or the trades where more often than not they don’t just throw you off the deep end on day 1. It just depends because no two jobs are the same. My uncle taught my cousin how to weld in his backyard from a very young age free of charge. That’s my point.
