I think the Japan metro terminal works well in Sharon, it's like the town council allowed for a singular large commercial building to try and draw some economic activity in or maybe the metro only got built because the developer wanted the commercial building there too
That Japanese metrostation belongs in Sharon. Make a story around it about how they tried to clean up their image as a town with it but everybody just laughed at it and now it's there so they use it.
At the big hub, you have a ground level metro track available, just connect it with an underground tunnel (the tunnel entrance will destroy trees and you'll probably have to rebuild a ped path but you can start your new line from there) Your metro stations are way too close from eachother, it's worse than the Paris metro ! 17:20, you also have a four track station, that could be used as a departure/arrival station for a branchline. 19:27, you have a second four track station that can serve as a diversion point for the branch. (both lines stopping at the station inbetween the two).
Your builds have helped me so much with my own gameplay. I play on Switch so 100% vanilla but you have shown so many cool tips and tricks that I can use in my own cities which I was quickly getting bored with. Thanks. ❤
Hey Egg if you're really keen on the ROJ metro terminal you could try put it with the train station to help it blend in a bit more? Almost like it's a small shopping complex connected to the station? Might hide the bulk a bit better. Love seeing these episodes as always!
Sharon has finally had her day! She's been neglected for so long. No doubt complaints were filed the second the town hall went up. Reposted from last episode as it's a better fit here: Here's an idea for the Greater Ka-Sharon Area (or Sha-Karen as they say in Sharon): I think a sports venue between Karen and Sharon would be just what's needed for the two towns to settle their differences. American football would fit the bill as I'm sure America spawned the first Karen.
I love the ugly brick shop in front of the station, feels like somebody paid the mayor to have that great spot and just didnt care about aesthetics at all, perfect for Sharon :D
For repositioning metro stops/stations I recommend deleting the stop from the line first before deleting the building. Then you can just add the stop back in the line tool. Way easier than relying on the game to fix it itself
If a network doesn't want to level, like that rail redraw, scoop out a hole under where the nodes are going to fall then fill it back in after. Captain Ahvious spent a lot of time in his earlier series showing how to get really smooth rail and monorail in particular, but all the other networks as well, in vanilla because without move it and so on it can be a bit of a pain to get them properly smooth. "Cities: Skylines 3 Tips and Tricks an Advanced Guide to ChirpX Launch Site | s02e13" at 7 minutes 57 seconds, for instance, is a good case study he presented where he explained the technique whilst doing a monorail line through a mountain pass - very challenging to get smooth in vanilla. Sharon needs about 3 off-licenses, 4 second hand shops, 6 pubs, 3 mobile phone shops, 2 chippies and assorted other takeaways, and a Primark and Home Bargains.
You were right Egg, the metro is a controversial choice. 😂 I dont think it makes sense in a poorer/run down community to spend the money to bury metro line. Especially since you already have an established above ground connection with the train line. Still loving the build though!!
The market stalls look so amazing! They remind of me this part of downtown in my city! I keep repeating myself but you are so creative with these builds, you really make each part of the city look amazing!
Hola Mr. Egg You have that train line embanked but it seems excessive due to the line being an elevated station and then going to bridge over the water. Feel that it would be smoother without the embankment here Love the work as always! ❤
The rundown bits look great! They really bring character to Sharon. I think Karen should have the Sneaker Factory, due to having the sports fields and all the gyms. Sharon could have the Food Factory, as I imagine it'll be close to the farming areas.
I really like that town center, it certainly matches what many towns go through with old-brick building being replaced with something fancy new but only one in 10 years so it's all a wild mix. I'd say the seafood factory near the canal would make sense, pumping all the dirty water from canning into the canal because nobody cares about that in the town. And then food factory would make some sense too - like the rivalry between fish and non-fish eaters in the two towns.
Leave the ROJ metro station. I think it sits well :) If the lemonade, fish or food factory haven't been used I think they could work well for opposing factories, where the people of Sharon/Karen refuse to eat/drink the factory's goods purely from town rivalry. But then behind the motels/underpasses there are secret exchanges between Sharon/Karen residents who secretly love the other town's drink/food. lol Definitely need some homelss/tent vibes as other people have suggested :) Great episode as always egg!
I don't hate the metro. Can see it as a converted building that houses stall shops for people doing various crafts and thrift stores (we have several on our main street). So glad to watch this morning with coffee.
I have an idea. You know the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover"? I was thinking that Sharon should have a progression where it looks poor run-down but the further you go, the more expensive and extravagant everything gets.
Amazing episode in my favourite series, keep it up. P.S. it would be nice to see some kind of build including cable cars, they are a nice aesthetic but i can't ever seem to find a suitable spot or situation to use them.
University city has some nice trashy looking houses. They have broken cars and trash in the lawn occasionally. ALSO! The stores in the pack look great! 😊 (You need a very simple mod to allow it in the theme section)
big dog or small girl : bit of both is my answer. the cats in this game are huge too for the commercial/office station, I think plenty of seedy businesses might set up in Sharon for tax purposes of being in the suburb instead of the city proper. perhaps these are the Totally Legit Company you see in the stonks market. Maybe a bit of Al Capone inspo? He moved from Chicago to Cicero "after using bribery and widespread intimidation to take over town council elections". Maybe this evildooer could be a warhammer character.
For being kind of a dingy beat up town. Sharon still has quite a bit of charm. One of those “this town is only really propped up by the people who live here.” Vibes.
Adding overgrowth behind/around buildings (especially around the motels) would really add to the seedy vibe bcz there'd be more shady spots all around the town. Also the girl was short
I think that Japanese metro station is great in Sharon. It reminds me of a lot of London suburbs where London underground lines are in small shopping centres
For a run down town it's a little fancy I think. But it is hard to do with the game choices. The public spaces with lots of trees and amenities would be pricey to maintain.
Can’t remember what factories have been used but I know there are two factories, I think it’s the food and sneaker factories, that have basically the same footprint but rotated through 90 degrees. Would be very on brand and all centred around the argument of which rotation is better
I imagine the Sharon metro station is actually the city and/or county building, it was built because they outgrew the tax office and all their bureaucrats work there.
One thing I want them to do in CS2 is to stop Cims being able to pull out pocket cars after they get off a Metro service. They travel from their suburb to the city on the train then just pull out a pocket car? I want to see more realism there.
The question is does Sharon have a high demand for dog walkers? Is that too high class for this small city? If low class city, it's a big dog to protect from crime. If it's high class then it's an average size dog with a wee sized person walking. It's probably a lower class dog since the richer people get, the smaller the dogs tend to get until they fit into handbags. Regardless, it was a fun episode. Oh, I've used your canal idea to create a sunken highway through my new city that will cut through a large part of the downtown.
Rooms by the hour.... no, i don't know what you mean. In the intro to the next video I would like you to explain in full detail exactly what you mean by what kind of motel that is XD
I always get depressed watching these episodes because Sharon is supposed to be some kinda gross neglected town and its still better designed than like 80% of the US
I like the disorganised way you build. I would like to see demand and performance of the individual cities. What kind of population do these small towns need. Talk more about the money being made or lost. Can each town have a football Club??? Avoid Fishing unless you are putting it right on the coast. Then a canning factory just the other side of the highway. I think a some point Karen and Sharon would of competed for businesses. Maybe a disused clothing factory or a larger asset in between the small towns.
Ngl i think the metro terminal rly doesnt fit, maybe wait for the right moment for that asset. It's also a bit weird that sharon gets metro, i think it should stop at Karen, as sharon is an outerlying suburb. Maybe also move one of the metro stations closer to that large interchange?
“Sharon definitely seems like the sort of person that would stink of fish” - end of build 😂😂😂
I just about died laughing when he said that
2 build guide episodes in a couple days?!?! Ima faint
Take your like and leave me alone
Once he did 3 in a 5 day period for Orchid Bay. It still wasn’t enough 🙂
I think the Japan metro terminal works well in Sharon, it's like the town council allowed for a singular large commercial building to try and draw some economic activity in or maybe the metro only got built because the developer wanted the commercial building there too
yeah I imagine it would be like a direct factory outlet shopping mall full of last season's fashions and discount stores
I think you should add tents underneath bridges and overpasses to show homeless in Sharon
I like the terminal - has good "grotty 60s concrete brutalist" vibes, like you see in a lot of grottier english towns
Glad to hear I could squeeze that one through!
That Japanese metrostation belongs in Sharon. Make a story around it about how they tried to clean up their image as a town with it but everybody just laughed at it and now it's there so they use it.
Him saying charge by the hour. Me “huh,…oh…ohhhhhhh😮”
I really like the 'rundown' or ghetto feeling just makes cities more real.
Yes dude, I make whole neighborhoods on the south end of my downtown all with university housing, the one advantage to console!
At the big hub, you have a ground level metro track available, just connect it with an underground tunnel (the tunnel entrance will destroy trees and you'll probably have to rebuild a ped path but you can start your new line from there)

Glad to hear that mate!

I can definitely feel the neglected town vibes with Sharon. All of the purposefully chosen assets and detailing really carry those vibes. Nicely done.
Glad you enjoyed it mate!
I love the ugly brick shop in front of the station, feels like somebody paid the mayor to have that great spot and just didnt care about aesthetics at all, perfect for Sharon :D
I am addicted to city skylines videos and the game
Seeing the full transportation network view was *so satisfying*. It's amazing how intricate this city is in every way. Love this series so much!
Haha.
'That looks minging. Perfect'
😂
For repositioning metro stops/stations I recommend deleting the stop from the line first before deleting the building. Then you can just add the stop back in the line tool. Way easier than relying on the game to fix it itself
What about using the university theme for the housing and shops? I find them all to be the worse of the worse

Love the build! I always place ugly parts in my city. Makes it more realistic and relatable to real life.
The market stalls look so amazing! They remind of me this part of downtown in my city! I keep repeating myself but you are so creative with these builds, you really make each part of the city look amazing!
Feel like the entire district should just be university city, let a few level up maybe to level 2/3, make it real shoddy bit like Bradford but good 😂
Hola Mr. Egg
You have that train line embanked but it seems excessive due to the line being an elevated station and then going to bridge over the water. Feel that it would be smoother without the embankment here
Love the work as always! ❤
Professor X has pulled into Sally's too. 🤣🤣 Slightly more worried that he's managed to go in without his chair though.
He's a fraud mate! The chair is just for looks!
Love me some wake up morning builds on my days off. So relaxing 😌
The rundown bits look great! They really bring character to Sharon.
I think Karen should have the Sneaker Factory, due to having the sports fields and all the gyms.
Sharon could have the Food Factory, as I imagine it'll be close to the farming areas.
"Stink of fish" comment had me throwing my head back laughing. Needed that. Thanks mate 😂

I think sharon needs more houses and definitely more fisheries, fish factory, and more fisherman!
Yeah...sharon need fish industry
What specifically is the "nice bit of Sharon" Egg? Hmmm? 🤣😂 So many bush jokes to pick from. So many.
Lol is that one of those pools where people die because of the poor maintenance? 😂Dark humor
Love this and Mondays Video.

Great episode as always egg!
Never seen such a beautiful run-down town. 🤣Love the metro expansion as well!
Always a good day when OE uploads.
I don't hate the metro. Can see it as a converted building that houses stall shops for people doing various crafts and thrift stores (we have several on our main street). So glad to watch this morning with coffee.
your cities are unreal to look at
Big dog or small girl? The answer is “yes.” Thank you again for a wonderful episode!
I have an idea. You know the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover"? I was thinking that Sharon should have a progression where it looks poor run-down but the further you go, the more expensive and extravagant everything gets.
I lost it at the Nice bit of Sharon 🤣
I really envy your networking skills!!! Maybe make a video on road connectivity and routing over all of Orchid bay???
never realized you have such a funny commentary 😂 #smallgirl
Definetly small girl & food factory works great for Karen, that’s why she always wants to speak to the manager at restaurants
Amazing episode in my favourite series, keep it up. P.S. it would be nice to see some kind of build including cable cars, they are a nice aesthetic but i can't ever seem to find a suitable spot or situation to use them.

Egg, this is looking awesome. You truly are a beautiful human being with great character
How was your vacation? Are you back? Nice to see another OE video!
Incredible! When you intentionally build a dump it turns out looking better than most of my attempts at making a highly manicured and curated build 🤣
big dog or small girl : bit of both is my answer. the cats in this game are huge too

Sharon does sound like someone who would smell like fish! 😂
Maybe you could give Sharon the factory and a fishing pier/dock?
I think that Japanese metro station is great in Sharon. It reminds me of a lot of London suburbs where London underground lines are in small shopping centres
I love when you make towns
If Sharon is meant to be grotty, it needs a fish market!
amazing build i love it. And this british humor is alwayys refreshing :)
For a run down town it's a little fancy I think. But it is hard to do with the game choices. The public spaces with lots of trees and amenities would be pricey to maintain.
You should give Sharon it’s own water tower…
That's not a dog, thats a horse.
Can’t remember what factories have been used but I know there are two factories, I think it’s the food and sneaker factories, that have basically the same footprint but rotated through 90 degrees. Would be very on brand and all centred around the argument of which rotation is better
😂😂 loved this one, and as always music was on point
I imagine the Sharon metro station is actually the city and/or county building, it was built because they outgrew the tax office and all their bureaucrats work there.
The offhand seafood factory comment at the end had me wheezing 🤣🤣🤣😭
26:37 big dog crew where R U?!?
poor Sharon just can't get rid of the stench 🤣

😂2:20 hoewable
The downtown skyline is still so small. Please make it bigger Egg. Building these small towns are indeed such miss opportunity
The auto-generated subtitles think the city is called “Orca Bay” 😂 if you ever need to name an aquarium!
How do u get those brick commercial thing which style is it? Also the high density houses where are they from?
What’s more sketchy than having either having industrial buildings or a prison in or near your neighborhood.
Bin Begeistert von. deinen städten und deine Stimme zu hören.
The question is does Sharon have a high demand for dog walkers? Is that too high class for this small city? If low class city, it's a big dog to protect from crime. The Bank should be a "Bottle Bank" where they return their empties and can get 10p back on each bottle.
On modded cities I always use a theme with just universities DLC residential assets if I want a more “lower class” area lol
Despite Sharon being very run down its still nicer than where I grew up.
I’m thinking that one of the rural towns could be called “Aaron” so you have Sharon, Karen and Aaron. Keep the pattern you know?
Sharon walking her big dog 😳
It'd be great if there was a mod that made it so people actually used props.
Romeo stays in Sharon and Juliet in Karen.... 😂
I always get depressed watching these episodes because Sharon is supposed to be some kinda gross neglected town and its still better designed than like 80% of the US
Hello from next year!
Please :D use the fash factory in sharon, as she is the person who smells like fish :D
Tiny Girl, Massive Hound.
Japan metro weird in sharon. However that whole line is a bit forced to be fair.
professor X 🤣
You went too big on the metro and bus stations in Sharon
😎♥
The metro station looks like socialist-1980s department store from where I live.
#engagement 😅
Big dog. All girls are small at some point.
I'd live there
Small girl 🙂
My city name is Sharon in irl
