Under the Dome was my favorite read this year. Stephen King and Brandon Sanderson dominated my reading this year. Read Warcross and its sequel a few years back, fun books.
Such a great video. I’m having a hard time choosing between my two favorites so I’m gonna share both. Remarkably bright creatures it’s just a lovely book talking about what it’s like to go through grief and hardship and depression and how two people & an octopus live through those emotions. The inclusion of Marcelus the octopus is amazing. The other book is Life is Too Short by Abby Jimenez which is about how two people deal with large challenges in their life, fear about medical problems and childhood trauma while falling in love with each other.
@cjar8989 ahhh Marcellus... what a wonderful character! I really enjoyed that book too! Although I remember yelling at characters by the end to just TALK to eachother 🤣
What a great list! Emily Wilde made it onto my honorable mentions, so so fun. I’m very curious about Starling House! Absolutely loved your number 3 and number 1 pick as well 😍 Six of Crows may be my favorite book of 2024… Planning to film my top 2024 books video today 😊
@LibrariesandLattes Six of Crows is such a gem of a book! I really didn't think Crooked Kingdom would measure up but... it totally got me in the feels 😭
Wow! I did not realize when you talked about A Sorceress Comes to Call earlier that it was by the same author as The Twisted Ones😅 I will definitely be checking it out! Also need to check out the Emily Wilde series. I hope you are feeling better, my friend ❤❤❤
Awesome video Kris! I really need it read Crooked Kingdom. It’s been several years since I read Six of Crows lol. I also want to read more T. Kingfisher.
@BookishChas Crooked Kingdom is definitely worth it! Like I said... I didn't think it could possibly be better than Six of Crows but OMG it was so good 😍
I’m surprised I didn’t see any Stephen King books! 😢 I will definitely be reading my best friends exorcism this year! I just bought it on sale the other day!
@ShadysideLibrary ha ha I know... I think this may be the first year that no Stephen King books made it onto my list... I was wondering if anyone would notice 🤣🤣🤣
I read Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Fairies. It wasn't one of my top books. I did like it. It was a 4-star read for me. I have Bride. I hope to read it soon. You have a beautiful copy of it. I have a couple of books from Marie Lu that I have yet to read. After I read them, I may read the book you mentioned. I have a couple from Leigh Bardugo I have yet to read. Perhaps I will read the one you mention after I read the books.
@stuartgriffin1001 Bride is definitely a steamy romance... but I love that it also has mystery, heart and humor. I did NOT expect to love it as much as I did 🤗
My favorite books of 2024 were: Throne of the fallen The will of the many Empire of the damned Part of your world My honorable mentions are: The trials of empire Book lovers Fate breaker 2024 was a great reading year!!!
