American military here. We don't nessicarly count bullets, but we do count mags. Knowing how much longer you can stay in the fight is kind of important when running out of bullets means you now have 0 way of defending yourself in combat.

Austraila saw an increase in crime after their gun buy back. Third and most important is how do you not understand MORE crimes are STOPED with guns than commited. There are over 200,000 MORE crimes stoped than committed with guns. That means there are well over 200,000 people who needed a gun to defend themselves from someone who had a knife or a hammer. Weapons which by the way, kill more people than guns
It's not even that difficult to design one. All the material specs are literally a google search away, as are chamber pressures. You don't even need to know how to do your own structural calcs or FEA, I'm pretty sure the Adobe software will even do that for you. Something about topology optimisation
I love how everyone thinks you just hit print and boom you have a fully functional gun. In real life you can print the components and then theoretically assemble them. Of course if you know how to do that you probably would rather just use the much sturdier and cheaper conventional gun parts...

Fun Fact: That scene was supposed to be a fight scene, but Harrison Ford had gotten sick so wasn't feeling up to the task, so when they went to shoot the scene, he pulled out the prop gun as a joke and shot the baddie. The director thought it was awesome and that became that scene.

Actually, in the US military, at least, we have something called "tactical reload". If you know you're getting low on your mag, you take the opportunity to go ahead and swap when you get a chance. Dump the partially loaded magazine into your pouch, if you can. If not in a cargo pocket. Then, when you get time, combine the rounds into a single magazine
I take it that the tactical part of the name refers to the limited usage of the maneuver: Probably most applicable when you just came out of a firefight and know you are going right back into another one.

I lost the game. Also, I served in the US Army. While we don't really count rounds fired, we do keep a general idea of how long it takes to go through a magazine (a clip is worn in your hair). Also, most firearms capable of fully automatic fire, are still fired primarily in semi-auto. We never yell "RELOADING," choosing instead to notify your team via comms that we are "Black on ammo."

the only person i ever lived with who owned guns in my life was my Filipino ex-bf and his family. Aside from that I've never really had guns under the same roof as me. Even a bb gun later on was with a Mexican family (not even Mexican American, from Mexico...) that I rented a room from. In fairness to the krummlauf, it actually did see practical use as a close defense weapon for tanks. When a bunch of Russians are climbing all over your Panzer, it's a really handy thing to be able to just pop open the hatch and shoot a bendy shotgun in every direction without poking your head out. In this context, the short service life is basically a non-factor because it's being used as an emergency contingency tool rather than any sort of main weapon.

Pretty much any modern firearm, except a revolver, locks back the bolt or slide after you fire your last round. That's how you know your out, you don't get to pull the trigger and hear a click, click, click like in the movies.

You have full-auto as an option. That doesn’t mean that you should use full-auto all the time. We’re not Russians; we have to be thinking about our rounds potentially hitting civilians. So we shoot in semi-auto the majority of the time and we try really hard to get a one shot, one kill ratio.

There was an intricate fight scene written, but Harrison Ford got food poisoning the night before and felt like shit that day and suggested that Indiana just shoot the guy after he does his moves. Ended up being one of the most well known scenes of the 20th century. Even by people who can’t name the movie (Simon). That could all be made up but I’ve read it several times from different sources, but it’s more of an Indiana move to shoot the dude anyway, so it could have been written that. Either way good story.

My Grandfather had one of the Liberator Pistols in a footlocker, he told us kids, (1970's) that while he was fighting across France, the pistol was surrendered by a French citizen when they liberated some french village.. I remember it being wrapped in an oil soaked cloth but he was kinda proud of that gun. He also had a Luger, and several other weapons taken in combat, but he would actually tell us he was most proud of that POS Liberator because he didn't have to kill anyone or search a dead body to acquire it.

SIMON... there's an Asian remake of the classic Spaghetti Western "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" that's called "The Good, The Bad and the Weird" that's amazing! All the goodness of the Western Genre but done much better per Asian film making. It's a Dark Comedy/Action Film. Great stunt work and LOADS of quirky world building atmospherics. *IDEA:* Maybe consider a Blaze episode that focuses on American remakes of hugely popular foreign films (non-American) that have failed miserably?

It's very hard to tell with English. The vowel "a" is sometimes pronounced "ah" (like almost every American accent in Taco) and sometimes like "a" (general American "take") , at other times is a schwa (confusedly every single vowel can also be) , and is also close enough to the Canadian "eh" for those not familiar with that to mistake it for that as well.
Well maybe if Americans spent more time working on their vocabulary rather than shooting up theaters and high schools they would realise he is speaking properly

Actually, in the US military, at least, we have something called "tactical reload". If you know you're getting low on your mag, you take the opportunity to go ahead and swap when you get a chance. Dump the partially loaded magazine into your pouch, if you can. If not in a cargo pocket. Then, when you get time, combine the rounds into a single magazine
given how essential that is in every shooter game, it doesn't surprise me that's a real tactic that's quite important or at least helpful

Also, I served in the US Army. While we don't really count rounds fired, we do keep a general idea of how long it takes to go through a magazine (a clip is worn in your hair). Also, most firearms capable of fully automatic fire, are still fired primarily in semi-auto. We never yell "RELOADING," choosing instead to notify your team via comms that we are "Black on ammo."

In fairness to the krummlauf, it actually did see practical use as a close defense weapon for tanks. When a bunch of Russians are climbing all over your Panzer, it's a really handy thing to be able to just pop open the hatch and shoot a bendy shotgun in every direction without poking your head out. In this context, the short service life is basically a non-factor because it's being used as an emergency contingency tool rather than any sort of main weapon.

The “dude does karate and gets shot” scene is from Raiders of the Lost Ark. There was an intricate fight scene written, but Harrison Ford got food poisoning the night before and felt like shit that day and suggested that Indiana just shoot the guy after he does his moves. Ended up being one of the most well known scenes of the 20th century. Even by people who can’t name the movie (Simon).
That could all be made up but I’ve read it several times from different sources, but it’s more of an Indiana move to shoot the dude anyway, so it could have been written that. Either way good story.

My Grandfather had one of the Liberator Pistols in a footlocker, he told us kids, (1970's) that while he was fighting across France, the pistol was surrendered by a French citizen when they liberated some french village..

Supposedly there was a handful of liberators made there way to Philippines right after the war. They were supposedly used by their police force until they could get more guns. I think pretty much anything would have been better.

SIMON... there's an Asian remake of the classic Spaghetti Western "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" that's called "The Good, The Bad and the Weird" that's amazing! All the goodness of the Western Genre but done much better per Asian film making. It's a Dark Comedy/Action Film. Great stunt work and LOADS of quirky world building atmospherics.

It's very hard to tell with English. The vowel "a" is sometimes pronounced "ah" (like almost every American accent in Taco) and sometimes like "a" (general American "take") , at other times is a schwa (confusedly every single vowel can also be) , and is also close enough to the Canadian "eh" for those not familiar with that to mistake it for that as well.
Well maybe if Americans spent more time working on their vocabulary rather than shooting up theaters and high schools they would realise he is speaking properly
