Not enough guided movement techs! You basically figure out the "pattern" that works for the mastery but wouldn't work in normal lobbies
This was definitely a challenge! I got 4 stars on Veteran but since I’m not a pro Mercy I’m okay with that
Thanks for helping me identify the pathing and movement needed.
The mastery course forced me to improve my superjump and slingshot, but doesn't actually teach you how to do that--and to be fair that's probably an inevitable limitation because players use different inputs.
But watching you helped me identify when to employ one or the other or when to chain them. 🙏🏽
It just sucks how there is no clear indicator to damage boost. The new mercy players will continue to be heal bots smh

I legit spent 3 hours trying to get the perfect run for Agent...but the dopamine of seeing a Top500 score made it worth it

Literally same, but for veteran, I spent 9-1 trying to get the perfect score, and when I did I got top 100, my thumb nail, and my pinky nail hurt for an entire day.
I was in 69th place about a week ago. Now I’m in 79th… I’ve been trying for like 30m and can’t get a new PB 😭
damn playing these for the first time made me feel like a fake mercy main especially the last one 😭
I absolutely hate the hero mastery cause it just feels like a time challenge rather then a good representation of your skills in a character - but boy does it feel good to see full stats lol
The fact that you have to move so fast that even with how fast you're explaining your actions there is a slight delay at the end as your words struggle to catch up. Amazing job as always!
The way I was recording the vocals unscripted as the runs were playing so I could match the speed was PAINFUL
Important to note for those who dont know, friendly bots disappear when you fully heal them so be sure not to unless you know you wont need to fly to them anymore.
yeah but if you're playing perfectly you won't need to fly to a bot more than once anyways

Honestly, I dare any Mercy haters (who say her movement isn't even hard but never actually played her) to do this hero mastery course and then show their results. I'm a Mercy main and even I struggled with this. I bet 90% these haters would do terribly in those.

Honestly, I dare any Mercy supporters (who say her relatively simple movement somehow makes her difficult) to do the other two currently available hero mastery courses and show their results. I am an ex-Mercy main (I still have the most hours on her out of any character) and this was legitimately pretty easy, I got each of them in less than 10 tries including the attempts I had to use to scout out the objectives. The Rein and Tracer ones on the other hand were way harder to get a perfect score on, literally down to the half second.
But hey to each their own I guess.
@@zvorakfan2023I don't even get this attitude. Experience makes anything easier, but why dunk on Mercy? OP wasn't even saying DPS or tank roles are easier, just that Mercy movement isn't as simple as folks who main other roles can make it out to be. 🤷🏽
Anyway, personally, I have done all of them. Tracer and Mercy were equally simple/difficult, it was the tank role I struggled with. It's all relative.
@@oedalis Idk, if you're going for max score (as in every single objective, not just 5 stars) then tracer feels much harder than mercy. Mercy's level 1 and 2 felt incredibly easy compared to the other characters, though I will say her level 3 took me a little longer due to having to figure out a route that worked.
About the movement, I just really don't find it as hard as people say it is. Is it fun? Yes. Is it intuitive and unique? Yes. Is it as hard and nuanced as people say a lot of the time? Not really in my opinion. It could be bias since Mercy was my first character and it feels easy for me, I just have never understood the argument that Mercy's movement tech is enough to prevent her from being seen as the easiest character in the game (which in my opinion she is.)
I think it's ok to have easy characters in the game though, and people shouldn't be shit on and demeaned for playing them. I was just being a sardonic to OP cuz I'm a shithead

@@BONERCRUSHER Nah, Moira is way harder to get high value on than Mercy. A lot of Moiras are bots and end games with high stats but are throwing by not actually doing anything. Mercy provides way more game-winning value than Moira for a relatively equal level of difficulty, so I’d say overall Mercy is the easier character.
As a dps main who just started playing mercy you’re insane with her movement I don’t even know what’s going on 😂

I was doing the third one for like 3 hours because the timing had to be nearly perfect with the way that I did it. There's definitely different ways to do it but this one just made the most sense to my brain LMAO

If you’re struggling with agent level and just want to 5 star, you can omit the coins on the jump pad on the far right in the beginning. It saved me a little time towards the end and I still 5 starred ❤

Mercy had the best hero mastery courses honestly. I got the perfect score and top 500 on her recruit mission but couldn't path veteran for the life of me so I watched this video to see how I could do it, and good lord I think it'd take me 3 months to get this down
I believe in you, you can get it! I know there's some easier pathings but this one just made the most sense to me
Also it's kinda cool that a lot of people who are and aren't Mercy players enjoyed Mercy's the most and thought it was more challenging

this is the hardest agent to compelete, even recrute start i couldnt ever get any of the coins, specially at the start

i just managed to get 5 stars on the first course, not a perfect 7500 (7284 is my highest rn) but i'm definitely improving.. i just keep finishing at the last second, having 10 seconds available is insane to me

Mercy challenges are the most. There is so much to do with the super jumps and fly everywhere.
I got the 5 stars on recruit and agent, sat at 4 and 1/2 stars for veteran and it’s stressing me out but I am sold on the idea I NEED the rewards
Took me 3.5 hours to get the Mercy Veteran perfect run. My run was completely different and with better excecution I think I could get at least 5 seconds to spare.
I'm a bit sad the leaderboards don't reflect perfect vs more perfect. I would totally grind all day to try get #1 spot off fennec
I wish you could watch other players runs from the leaderboard or something because it's so fascinating to see the routes others took

Today I learned there is a thing called superjump.

even though i didnt do it perfectly, i finally fully 5-stared mercy... 😭😭 it was so not worth it but i needed the battlepass xp
i hate the way the friendly bots disappear at full heal T-T took me so long to realize what i was doing wrong when i kept fully healing the bots and ending up getting stuck
I’m a DPS main, but whenever I play support I looveee playing Mercy. I maxed the Tracer and Reinhardt courses before playing Mercy, and it was a *pain*. I was expecting Mercy to be just as hard, but I got 5 stars on all courses in like 45m 😭
I wanted to finish Tracer and Rein before playing Mercy, I was so hyped to play it but it only lasted an hour 😭

Yeah you can! Don't put yourself down! As long as you enjoy playing mainly Mercy, you're a Mercy main. Mastery is a process.

What is that superjump she does at 0:22? I do the same jump in regular matches, but i don’t get launched straight up like that?! 🤨
I need to build up her ult and return to this beginning area to fly up and grab those 3 she got at the start.
I’m not familiar with that jump.
You just press crouch to launch yourself straight up

What is the purpose of doing those challenge? Does it give you a better Mercy, or items?

Call me crazy but on the 3rd one i found a way to kill both sniper bots the 2 attack bots and the tank bot within 30 seconds from spawn which eliminates most of the enemies leaving you free to plan a route i just couldnt figure out the route who knows maybe i have the key to getting this run down faster 🤷🏽♂️

I feel like having a faster time should give more points, then it would prevent so many people just having a "perfect score" and everyone being joint first place.
Or at least just ranking them by time if they have the same score

You can! I'm a gold/plat Mercy. And I've almost got 5 stars on the second difficulty. Just try and try again. Memorizing what they do in this vid certainly helps a lot too!

If you don't need perfect but you want 5 stars you don't have to kill the snipers in the beginning of veteran.😊

I did the third one almost perfect but still missed like a few points because I didn't dmg boost enough. Now that I finally got it I went from rank 5 to rank 200. Pain, but at least I got a ss of my top 5 placement. :D

That weapon charm is from the Rosewood (I think that's the name?) Moira skin. I didn't get the skin but I bought the charm

veteran is riduclously hard. i dont understand why the speed and height you travel when lshifting to teammates is so inconsistent
With 7500+ points i didnt even appear in the leaderboard but i dont care, was fun!

Update: Thanks to your guide I did 5 stars on veteran and got the first two with perfect score, now I feel like I have to try to do veteran with perfect score, I'll update the comment when I do that as well
Update 2: I got all of them with perfect score using your routing, Im 135th on the EU leaderboard at the time of writing this comment thank you so much for making this video :D
There's a few ways you can do it but these ones made more sense to me :>
@@Skiesti ngl every route that I tried was rough like there was no real smoothness and with the one you made I instantly PB'd even messing it up a couple times, didnt get the 5 stars yet but thats just a matter of time at this point Im sure

The leaderboard takes rank in order of who has the highest OW1 player level if you all have the same score. Hopefully they fix that!

Only tried the recruit one, and honestly got frustrated with it. I left it at 4 stars, because what it's really testing isn't your Mercy mechanics, but your course knowledge. That's just not interesting to me at all.
It's both tbh. I can kinda see your point, but it's not just about course knowledge. You can know the courses inside out and still fail to get the best scores if your movement isn't great. Just like you can have the best movement in the world, but you won't ace those if you don't know the course. At the end of the day it's just practice until you get it. But you still need to have the skill to complete the course in the first place. If you don't have the skills then knowing the course won't be enough.
@@disruptor6550I second this, I was only able to 5 star the Recruit course once I got more skillful at the movement.
I was reflecting that part of it is definitely pathing, which I think is a touch beyond mere course knowledge. Knowing how to path efficiently with your movement abilities helps your game in general, I think.
I'm really confused about the leaderboard 😭 i got top 191 and now I'm 300 even if I got all the stats and 1:09 time, its like I'm going lower rank every time i check
It's based off of your OW1 player level

I'm really frusted with heroes mastery, Its a literal speedrun where u dont really improve ur hero ability. Yeah u can get a better movement perspective and cooldown sense, but nothing that will make you "mastery" the hero. They are working in a project that could be a lot better with the same effort, anything that REALLY will improve some sense of positioning or the hero mechanics. Just think about it, there is levels where u will need to spend 3+ levels to get 5 stars, and theres 38 heroes ig, imagine trying to mastery all of them? Thats craaazy, will a speedrun that makes u nervous and spend ur game time attract the players? If u liked it ok, thats only my vision, but I think they are wasting time making this mode when they could bring something new and attractive to the game \o
