Vince and Larry seem to be the only PSA mascots who can give people a serious message...while making them laugh at the same time!
They should make ads to get people to mask up. 🙂
This makes me wanna laugh too!
@@w5winstonvaxxed?
Man, these are actually wholesome and funny Psas. Meanwhile, the other ones just deliver the message expecting you to shit your pants.
"You could learn a lot from a dummy. Buckle your safety belt."
When I get ready to go to work at about 5 am in the morning I never put my safety belt on. Only 7 miles one way I mean what could possible go wrong? Its not even in heavy traffic either.
Now a days the dummy's need to do commercials on DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE !
@@Someguyto It's better now to prevent something bad from happenning, because when something bad actually happen, it's not going to be pretty, you don't put on your seat belt when you're already in an acident, y'know?
:D
@@Someguyto Think of that one in a billion chance that the wrong person is on the road, and you happen to meet with them, quite literally. In that instant, two lives are forever destroyed. Most likely it will never happen, but even at 5 in the morning, you are in control of a hunk of steel weighing roughly 2000 lbs. traveling at 30 to 45 mph. You need to be constantly focused on the road. No cell phone. No distractions of any kind. No impaired vision caused by alcohol. Don't rely on the calm environment to lull you into a sense of false security. It's reasoning like yours, "what could possibly to wrong" that sends you to an early grave. For goodness sake, "Buckle Your Seat Belt." It could end up saving your life one day.
I appreciate how these skits were saved by different people in different ways and then uploaded. Black and white, VHS, low resolution? They've still been archived so we can see them again 20 years later!
The past : You could learn a lot from a dummy. Buckle your safety belt.
Nowadays : Buckle your safety belt ,dummy!
LOL! Even Dummies where safety belts
MuazPlayz Gameplays & Productions well nowadays you need to wear a seatbelt and don't text and drive. They should do texting dummies commercials. Don't be a dummy don't text and drive
I wish they'd come out with new commercials like these. I miss these kinda things. I even had the toys from the 90's.
Where's s Time machine when you need one
@@nocturnalrecluse1216 no kidding
I agree. The toys were great! And lots of fun! Now that I am older, I realize that they really are great safety demonstrators.
@@nocturnalrecluse1216 Um, Hello? TH-cam and your own mind... There's your time machine!
To many snowflakes now
RIP Lorenzo Music the world lost a great fellow when you passed :(
Care to explain?
He was a WAY better Peter Venkman than Dave Coulier...@@potatogunn1125
Frost770, uuuuummm Peter Venkman was played famously by Bill Murry you stupid fuck.
@@potatogunn1125 True, but Peter Venkman was voiced by Lorenzo Music in "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon, which is what Frost770 is referencing.
DreamDancer82, well that cartoon was gay.
Poor Garfield
The late, great legendary African-Canadian actor Percy Rodrigues provided the v/o message at the end.
Christopher Howell thank you
Yeah the guy who voiced the Loc Nar in Heavy Metal.
Lorenzo Music…better well known for voicing the fat orange lasagna craving cat himself…plays the voice of Larry the Dummy!
These aired during the absolute best time of my life. :'-(
ShaggyDawg yeah this is where Steave and George came from
Everyone says that in their young kid years. When you become an adult, life becomes hard and you just have to deal with more.
That’s not true! The best time of your life is still to come. Wait for it, it’s coming.
@@gabrielsylvestre3708 Thats exactly right. We are free when we are kids but then we get careers and families that ruin our lives.
@@robertrostad3930 there it is! Aww you missed it...wait...it's coming back around. I totally agree Roberto!
Larry is voiced by Lorenzo Music, who played Carlton the Doorman on Rhoda in the '70's & provided the voice of Garfield in the '80s.
And Dr. Peter Venkman in the Real Ghostbusters and Tummi Gummi on Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
Remember kids: Don't you be a dummy, buckle your safety belt. And leave the crashing to these guys.
I Wish These Dummy Commercials Are Still On The Air, They Are Amazing As Heck
07:10: I just love Lorenzo Music's hyped-up delivery on this line. "Or THE EMERGENCY ROOM!!! :DDD"
They should bring these back.
People tend to buckle safety restraints...
But people are ALWAYS looking at their phone while driving.
Me: "Ima be the first one here after the latest AVGN episode."
**sees like 2 new comments about the AVGN episode**
Also me: "You guys are fast!"
*holds a Daryl the dummy figure in his hands* Yeah...you came first.
pretty good public service advertising that aged well.
Which then lead to a successful toy line.
if johnny knoxville and steve o played this role the stunts will be real
Jack Burns was the voice of the dummy that was driving when Barney Fife pulls him over which is notable because Burns replaced Don Knotts as deputy when he left the show.
He was also the voice of Ralph Kane in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, Wait Till Your Father Gets Home
That moment you realize one of those dummies is voiced by the same man that voiced Garfield on Garfield and Friends.
I hate to admit this but I have the crash test dummy dolls. I remember all of those commercials.
Holly Stewart 8
RIP Lorenzo Music, voice of Larry the Crash Dummy.
Wasn't he also Carlton Your Doorman on Mary Tyler Moore?
@@brainscott8198 He did the voice of Garfield as well.
@@waffleliberty89 And Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters.
They should bring them back for DUI/DWI and Texting while driving PSA’s
Hot wheels bought them back to life before they should do it again
With the voices of Frank Welker as vince and Dave collier of full house as Larry
For those PSA's
Shit went real around 1:51
I mean,*DAMN* that got dark real quick
The late, equally late Rod Roddy announcing for "You Lost Your Life"! 6:51
Glad you included the Iron Maiden PSA. UP THE IRONS! With that said, I can thank Vince and Larry for teaching me to always buckle my seat belt. I still wish they made these.
one of them sounds like garfield.
+copnite12342 That's because it is :) (Same voice actor)
***** awesome.
still the dummies always used to frighten me as a kid.
+Areyanna The late Lorenzo Music, that is. The other is Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson).
Nope- "Vince" was Jack Burns.
Barry I. Grauman Sorry, my bad!
Lorenzo Music A.K.A. Garfield
I remember these growing up
Oh jeez I remember how cheezy these things were when I watched them in Driver's Ed!
The one is missing where he says if you don't wear your seat belt you can get a much better view of the road! Yes I have a favorite!
They should come up with a new one about texting and driving.
Thank you AVGN for bringing me here.
They're cheesy, but they're not trying to be anything else. I love it.
These Commercials are such a Crack Up! It makes me laugh too much that I used the bathroom!
LOL
Eric
a
i was terrified of these commercials when I was little
Well they're terrifying for a reason. The Ad Council and U.S DOT are doing their best by shoving the message DOWN YOUR THROAT TILL YOU GAG.
Hannah W These are funny, dude.
Yeah but they made toys of them.
I'm 11 and I love these guys.
Can’t blame you
Been looking for the radio ads for years. They were funny as hell.
we need to bring these guys back
If or when they bring these back. They should show what happens when
1. On your cell phone
2. Texting
3. Being high
4. Drunk
5. Sleepiness
6. Distracted
Andy Griffiths and ad council together are awesome!
Yea, I like that they utilized Barney Fife
Don't let this man distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
Did he die
I experienced so many sleepless , hellish nights because of these 2 goons. I could not watch t.v. without always being on my guard and then the most dummest thing occurred; they made Vince and Larry into cartoons and toys. Their credibility was gone forever. Thanks for putting all of these ads in one viewing.
The cartoon, I believe, was one of those failed pilots that aired as a special on Saturday morning TV. And their credibility died with that Ray Charles PSA.
IRON MAIDEN!!! 7:52.
This headbanging is more fun than going through a windshield!
UP THE IRONS!! 🇬🇧🤘😎🤘🇬🇧
Shit I forgot all about these commercials! I was obsessed with crash test dummies when I was little LOL I have no idea why. I didn’t even understand their purpose... I just... thought that they were cool 😂 I even had a dummy doll!!! Lol. So weird reminiscing on the past sometimes
acutal useful psa's and not just "drugs BAAAAAAAAAD" being a 2000s kid this blows my mind
my ela teacher showed us one of these in class
it was a lesson on persuasive media
You know? I wasn't going to listen to any of this advice until I finally got to the end and Bruce and Ray were just so damn likable. I can't say 'no' to them.

I remember them . Seatbelts save lives . They bring back memories .
RIP Jack Burns, the voice of Vince.
And Lorenzo Music, the voice of Larry.
@@goofusmaximus1482 I know Lorenzo Music for many roles, but I will always know him best as Garfield. I used to watch Garfield and Friends as a kid.
I took one look at the "y'know, most people couldn't live like this" one and the one right after it and just said "NOPE"
Vince sounds like a mix of Homer and Hamm while Larry sounds literally like Garfield since it's the same VA.
Mad nostalgia right there
Hard to believe the original voice of Garfield did this AND the Ruggles Ice Cream commercials!

God, I miss these commercials....
fucker these commercials r FUCKING CREEPY
Whoa! Iron Maiden made a PSA for seat belt safety!!! I never knew about this campaign, I wonder if there is one with Judiest Priest.
Just got the vince and larry dummies and the red crash car in the mail part of the incredible crash dummy toys love them so much
FUN FACT: Lorenzo Music was the voice of Carlton, the doorman on the Mary Tyler Moore Show 1970-77.
I remember these growing up. However, the biggest influence on my seat belt use was taking driver's ed in high school. For four months, every time we got in the car we had to buckle up. It became a habit. I remember when I was in college my dad called me and that he'd been in a car accident. He refused to wear a seat belt even after it became state law. So when I picked him up at the scene he was being treated by paramedics for a cut to his head. Apparently his head hit the windshield. And, even after that experience he still refused to wear his seat belt unless he was in my car. I didn't want to be ticketed for his obstinance.
B Sharp damn man
Rip jack burns , lorzno music And ray charles!
I do enjoy Lorenzo Music's performance as Larry. Also there is one thing slightly inaccurate about these commercials and that is that depending on the test in question, real life crash test dummies can in fact wear seat-belts, especially for tests about the safety of the vehicle itself.
Thanks 4 posting
Bring back The Crash Dummies Vince and Larry Commercials to us. Buckle your safety belt, Dummies.
From early 90s till now I have seen this ad back
This PSAs traumatized me
I loved Lorenzo Music. May he RIP😔
Vince sounds like discount Cliff Claven. Also at they're tempting me at 7:15, Ecto-1 was my childhood dream car.
Jack burns brother
I remember this commercial yrs ago when I was a child back in the eighties brings back a lot a moments and memories comes on seven days a week day and nite and rip to lorenzo music the voice a garfield and friends was on ch two Saturdays from nine am to nine thirty am my favourite cartoon my generation he's gone but not forgotten with the Lord 🙏 forever amen.
This is honestly better than most of today's shows.
2:36-2:41 Hahahaha! This one has to be the funniest out of all of them for me.
1:58 I love this one
I also remember the safety belt PSA with Vince and Larry featuring iron maiden as well. My favorite part was at the end at 8:20 when the lead singer of iron maiden said, belt up, Don’t be a dummy!
I never expected Barney Fife to make an appearance...
They actually did 2 Crash Dummy PSAs featuring Barney Fife (the other one isn't present in the video).
I know that Lorenzo Music does the voice for Larry, but who does Vince? It sounds a bit like Dan Castelleneta.
+Chris C. Jack Burns
Max Perdue Lorenzo music is the the voice of garfield
And Peter vankmen from the original Real Ghostbusters cartoon
I think its the other way around
They raised me to always Buckle up so they saved me. 💖😇💖
Let's find 2 Crash Test Dummies PSAs: One that includes Chip (Crash Dummy with green suit) and another when Vince was near the bull's eye. Keep Finding More Crash Test Dummies PSAs.
Missing radio ones dummy cam
Single Light Productions I’m working on remaking these ads myself. I’m using my Nintendo 2ds and Flipnote studio 3D.
And don't forget cute little Charlie, the dummy all in pieces that speaks in a new English accent and makes people cry
Thanks!
The avgn bought me here!
Wonder what the budget on effects and props was they look extremely good plus we never had the dummies Ad in the UK but did have all the toys
They should bring the test dummies back
If Larry sounds familiar, he should. He was a doorman, a ghost-hunting scientist, and a sarcastic fat orange cat. Yep, Lorenzo Music, himself.
+GamerZero Thank you, I knew I recognized the voice, just couldn't place it.
i cant take it anymore help me Bill was never a doorman.
Very Good Video !
Bring Vince and Larry back to tell people to get off their phones as they drive!! Bill Murray can do the voice of Larry in place of the late Lorenzo Music.
Have Frank Welker of scooby doo fill in for Larry and dave collier from full house fill in for vince to get AD council and hot wheels to sponsor their NEW commercial and you got a deal
Think about it
Oh my God I actually remember that last one!
7:52 Is the best, They are my favourite band!!!
Iron Maiden?
I like how the buckling sound sounds like a gun cocking.
0:20-0:50 This PSA soon paved the way for the phrase, "Click it or ticket".
7:52 is my favorite one.
I rem the buckle up boom song, loved that
This list is missing one- I remember one where they're driving at night and have to keep swerving to avoid all kinds of things, including a moose, a sheep, and (if I'm remembering correctly) the townspeople
On second thought, what is the name of the font that were using at the end of every Crash Test Dummies PSAs?
I listened, Vince.
The irony of the second video is that the voice of Vince, Jack Burns, had the unenviable (and, unfortunate) task of replacing Don Knotts as Deputy Warren on "The Andy Griffith Show."
Awesome
There should be traveling comedy stunt show featuring these guys, and the Crash Test Dummy suits can really take such a pounding, that it's the most protective Stuntmen armor people could have, so they can do tons and tons of epic and creative stunts and crashes, while still promoting driving safety, like always Buckle Your Safety Belt, always use your mirrors, keep young kids in the back seat, make sure the kid is riding in a booster seat until the child weighs over 20 pounds, don't drink and drive, and don't throw liter out of your car, what do you think, would that be a good idea?
A IRON MAIDEN PSA?
Iron Maiden.... EXCELLENT
From quake II
Good old iron Maiden, back seat babe should have been released as a real single.
4:50 I could swear that clip was used in Short Circuit or Lethal Weapon.
Nope, it was used and heard in Harry and the Hendersons when the cop car crashes into the store window full of TVs, and not just any TVs, *SONY* TVs, that's right! 😆😎
I don't know about Lethal Weapon, I never saw that movie, sorry.
Everybody gangsta till the crash dummies start to talk and drive the car out of the target
I love how British and Oceanian road safety PSAs are all about death and grief and graphic visuals, meanwhile in the USA...
