I know you're a good content creator when there's no log splitting in a log splitter video and I still had a great time listening to you explain things. I hope the side hustle goes well for you!
@JackofHaulTrades : I've been watching him for about a year or so. Seen him comment on other channels, including mine, and didn't realize he had one either LoL 😆
I've been selling firewood as a side hustle for 22 years. I am only 36. If you have good dry wood, it will always sell. I now have kids of my own, and very soon, I will have them take over the side hustle if they want to. Keep up the hustle, brother. Love your videos.
I have a fire wood business and I can honestly say it’s not that worth it but is worth it. Meaning that the profit margin is not good. But is convenient. If you factor in all the time and equipment. I did the math one time and you literally make about $6-7 profit an hour. Equipment was the biggest factor. Chainsaw, gas, oil for chainsaw, chainsaw chains, log splitter, time and gas to pick up the wood. Cutting wood into smaller splittable pieces. But I still do it bc it does bring in extra cash and I can do it on my extra time. Big time and money saver is looking for free wood on fb marketplace that’s already cut down. Also you need to have a good amount of yard to do this.
I appreciate the feedback boss! Yeah, I don't plan on hauling wood for free to keep the margins higher. Plus, I have chainsaws, trailers, and trucks already due to my junk removal business!
I made one of those for the Bobcat, used to make firewood for my wood gas powered truck! I spent around 400 dollars making is since I had a lot of scrap metal around.
I said a while back in one of the comments, "Start doing the firewood Smart move. When the time comes to upgrade, look to the Wolfe Ridge Line-up of splitters. I run one of their skidster busters on my Wacker neuson. Also, a 28c and a f c 16 firewood convey. Very productive equipment. But when I started It was one just like you bought. Good luck 👍
I'm running a 2023 sw 21 full-size skid steer. It's been a pretty good machine so far. As far as any warranty work that's been done has been a real pain to deal with, I don't think I would buy another one of their machines on account of it.
Love your plan, looking forward to that video. I assume you have looked around you on what wood sales for, compared quality of that wood to yours, what kind of size gets what price... done some sort of market survey? Are you doing high volume lower price, offering delivery, I want to know everything! Some people want cheap, some people want convenience.
Unfortunately, no, I haven't done too much research on it. I just planned on learning with time. I wasn't too worried about it being a big money maker since it's not my main gig, and even if it doesn't make me money it will still benefit me since I have a wood burning fireplace. But probably I'd shoot for higher volumes 🤷♂️

@ my Black Friday purchase was a bidirectional auto scanner. Innova 5610 @ $100 off. I have always done my parts replacement on all my vehicles and 2 Harley’s. Save that money….
Thanks for the breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I am 62 I work for a wood man for yrs working the wood piles bigger than houses using a wood splitter all day long action Riley and his brother loise Riley
TKS God bless you and your's sitting here watching you drinking monsters if you could find a good wood pile man it pays off in long run seen piles of wood steam in dead of winter because of so big but bye summer piles were gone and piles of money in the Bank stay at it fingers in many pies pay bills and feed the family
A wood splitter is a great toy to have and if you are willing to take the time to cut and split, it can be very beneficial. I split so much firewood that I don’t know what to do with it. I would do a 10 hour shift and come back home to split firewood in the evening until 11 pm while listening to my favorite songs.
@@JackofHaulTrades You know, I really thought about it for a while, but then after looking at all the effort that went into it, I'm not too sure if it's even worth it. Maybe if I get in the mood again, i'll try selling some.
@@tractorworkandmore411 well it depends on where you are at and check with people who sells it for a price and people will try to take advantage of you why you have to talk to someone who sells it like up here friend owns a tree company and has people split and we sell firewood but up north Illinois Iowa district cold weather but it c an be therapy splitting wood just find a market people going camping are fire pits if knew where you was at could give ideas but I when selling cause had to retire health reasons was doing hundreds of thousands of dollars in firewood sales but all year long people going camping in the summer not my money friends who owned tree company but was paid well my two cents but been around a while did it all are had friends who did it I owned four business and retired but meant a lot of good people and friends so we worked together to get shit done
@@tractorworkandmore411 my son in law had a friend who did drugs and would split wood had a bunch of it told na friend and he bought it all half price they both made money I told him no more I sold it for him cause going to get evicted from the house even gave me a tip
On them trailers have to see where you put load on for weight distribution can't be too front heavy are mess up tongue your a kid at Christmas time but your smart if it can make you money good for you
The firewood business in my state is heavily regulated. My wife and her friend had a firewood business by the bundle. They sold it at convenience stores the state dept of agriculture or weights and measures stepped in they had to make labels with the weight of the bundle name address and phone number. Maybe if you stay low but if you sell to campgrounds or stores. Get ready for a call.
Anyway to make extra money is good. When you have down time you can split some logs. Get it up and running and you can always hire someone to manage it once your open and running. You will figure out a way to make money. Keep grinding.
@@JackofHaulTrades . I would ask around what kind of wood bbq business or resturants that cook for wood. Wood burning pizza ovens. Just throwing out ideas.
@@JackofHaulTrades If I was close by I would do that for free just to clear my mind. Case of Dr.Pepper headphone's and come get me when the sun goes down.
Hi, You are going to make a lot of money selling wood. We pay $400 a trailer load for split wood. We have an out door wood stove. Best of luck, Great video thank you
Thank you sir! When I get this log splitter, I'll share the crazy story on it. Because I was going to look at other stores but my local one took care of me!
I don't know the full picture for youAndre, but while firewood seems to be an easy win the time and effort is not worth it to take away from your main business. Even with free wood the time to process deliver etc is not even close to what you make hauling.junk but YMMV. I do groundie treework and firewood on the side. The first year I flipped seasoned wood because i'm not selling junk to people. In the meantime cutting and splitting the trees service hardwood I have access to for free so it's ready for next year as I build a customer base. Best scenario, IMO, is having Saul and his guys spend a day processing while you're out doing your thing and then once you have it ready to go you don't have any opportunity cost in the firewood by missing out on work. Also remember, your opportunity cost is not only your junk hauling but now your family time. Keeping the main thin the main thing is important. Just random thoughts from a complete stranger lol... Appreciate the videos!
You are absolutely correct boss! I was thinking the same thing. I'm not sure how much time I'll have for this business with how busy I am in my life. It will be more of a side hustle gig if I don't have work. I'm not giving up on the junk hauling business because that's what pays the bills and feeds my family currently. Thanks for the great comment 🫡🙏
@JackofHaulTrades yeah but I've seen them in action before for regular skid steers and the work gets done 10 times faster and 10 times easier basically no lifting you just drive up to it and it does all the work for you what you save and time and energy more than makes up for the cost in my opinion put use in a log splitters just as good it's just a little bit more work
@scottweber7777 I totally agree with you, but it was hard for me to justify the cost before even making a dollar selling firewood. If I find it to be a good business, I can always get one down the line!
When splitting firewood have a table near by to set pieces on when breaking down big pieces chunk them down but if you split in half put on tablet you'll see what I'm talking about when do it might have to refer back on this stuff I post you will get into routine of how to do it just another brain farts comes and goes thanks my friend
I am so proud of you man as a small business owner. I said a couple times, go get a splitter and you did. Proud of you. I'm sold out of wood, always sold out. I bring more wood in, it sells out.
Good stuff man. Honrstly the one you was looking at is the one i have. You dont want that one, spend 5k and get a processor. One with different wedges, a lift, table and such. Your gonna spend so much time touching the wood twice its not funny. When you do a lot youll see what im saying. Wolfridge splitforce are a couple brabds. You may get one freebto use tonmake videos on . Seriously consider the more expensive ones as they really area better. You have hammer giving you unlimited material the videos will pay for the equipment.
You are probably right. I have never even used a log splitter before, so this will be a learning experience for me! And if I see the green light because somehow I end up making good money doing it, I'll invest in a better splitter with time. I just don't want to play with numbers like that until the business makes some money
You don't want that firepit its junk i have one. That thin sheet metal angle iron in the bottom burns up quick. Its also where it draws air from beneath.
hello beautiful, always very good, and a pleasure to see you, hello beautiful.😘❤you often throw away logs of wood, you keep it, you split it and you see you make money.💯❤
Even on sale, buying retail gives you a longer time to break even. I'm more of a "Buy secondhand at auction a much bigger machine than this for 25c on the dollar" kind of guy.
That's the best way to do it if your cash heavy! But if you're financing, you're better off buying new because it gives you time to pay it off before the warranty goes out. That's just my opinion on it tho
Selling wood is ok. Just remember have to move it anywhere from 5 to 7 times to make your money. Time is money dollar a piece is best way to make money at it and wood has to be seasoned. Most of the time for tree services time filler.large production woodprocesser with right size wood 4 cord hr 200 grand investment selling wholesale only way to make real money at it. Good luck at it keep your fingers toes and lift wood or your back will give out moving large rounds.
Do you have a market for firewood in your area and check on the price they charge going to make more work for you cause have to season the wood might have to get help after a while and up here different trees different price like walnut logs big around and go up to first lead where limb grew out makes a difference on price sold some walnut 5 lodd for 3000 dollars to sawmill but have that stuff up here save money on dumping logs have to see what sells down there been helping friend sell firewood over the years he made millions of it but has a tree company so supplies his own wood and saves on dumping fees take a little bit to make money you got to be all in split when you have time for inventory i get stuff and check no interest charge for so many months i pay off early anyway but you have cost to cut down my friend when they take down a tree sometimes they cut to like 15inches on job then dump at lot for splitter guy just depends on circumstances if you want to get in you better get cloaned more money that way the tree company owner has a sawmill and he picks up logs and runs the crane for jobs where needed like taking stuff off rooftop like air conditioner units you have a good idea my friend just take logs that you can work with and don't let everyone dump off stuff just people you trust like hammer people come in want to dump garbage wood where would have to haul most out to dump so be careful have a good idea just will take time to make money unless you have a helper splitting wood just wear a back brace if needed watch fingers and different woods split differently grain wise before I retired was helping my friend split wood and sell it learned a lot check on prices and don't believe the public only out for themselves you will know the good ones when start selling we had pickup wood are son delivered to customers like i said see how it goes maybe make something if raining outside can get under something to split it get an umbrella for summer time sun is hot my thoughts for you been another adventure i went through once it gets in your blood your hooked my friends dad worked at factory made more money doing tree work than factory work got equipment and son took over business now his son's are taking it over great business do city county state and federal government jobs knows right people cause always has work 2/3 months in advance so if going to sell firewood just read what wrote will take time but make sure you sell good season wood and will sell itself another thing check on zoning just saying and different woods bring different money so talk to someone you seem like you trust and ask there prices and if you want to deliver are have people pick it up you asked for it one of my specialty we have trailers come in measure length width height and come up square footage then so much a square foot like so much a piece of wood cost like a 10/7/2 ten feet by seven feet by two feet deep so ten times seven is seveny times two is one forty so lets say charge one dollar a square foot you got one forty times one dollar equals one hundred forty dollars just saying you said i would like your next post sure do my friend but takes time after you get splitter and season wood to make money unless you get a helper who you trust to work for you cause i had people work for me cause I was the boss and be on cell phone told to get off i would tell them to take breaks to im old and still out split the young ones but show how to do it easy depends on wood we had conveyors also so split and put in conveyor to put in pile like said just take time check prices from other people and store selling wood get a idea i even sold to the people who sold the shrink wrap wood we sold to campgrounds parks and people camping but I was down on lot retired from and sold my businesses something to do my driver's be working i be helping him like said takes time and money to build up inventory they have Chris in the woodyard on here can give you information on how he started it takes time maybe something you take wife and baby outside to split wood maybe cook something out have family time and still getting something done just a idea neighbors is another thing if bitch to much but my ideas of what we went through but he hires people to split and sells year round so make money but he has a shit pot full of money so no object to him to pay now and get back m later well hit me up if have questions my friend always looking out for you just my thoughts on firewood sales and what it takes to get started up in Midwest cild and snow season here so be waiting for response thanks for posting your new income ideu

@KevinHarvey-qw5mj Yeah, I believe it. I'm going to this more as a side hustle. My priority will stay the junk removal business for now because that's what feeds my family
With me i know ill get paid more for hard work so i would go with something big still make the same amount of money probably but more who knows people always say im competitive i just speak like it is honestly nothing major
yeah the first,i open pc and see new movie of you so i take drinks and sitting and enjoy my weekend is good,1000 usd type ,but look else for other type wood splitter, you can make lot money with wood, now you pay to dump it and than when you sell as firewood wowww you wil be rich haha and it wil be cold so buy wood clover, but they say that 1 is sold but it stay there,go next day and when it still is there than you may buy it,it is 24 hours later, wil well do the nose wheel i wil make wheel on it so you can transport it easy by hand, you can also do the clove/splitter job by the customer home when he have wood to cloving/splitter,wood cutting/splitter service at home by customer, you go to be get bussy lot work means lot of money in pocket hahaha
Maybe you're right because I'm not a firewood expert, but every single person that sells firewood in my area has told me that. No one will even take it for free with me dropping it off at their yard or house when we cut them on tree jobs. So I have to take them to the landfill and pay to dump pine. but maybe they say that because our area has a ton of hardwoods
@ because of the time I gave each one to my sons and I kept one for myself and they all broke. So now I have a estimate 1220 which is better than them. Do you wanna buy something? That’s gonna last a long time

Thanks brother! 🙏
A wood splitter is a great toy to have and if you are willing to take the time to cut and split, it can be very beneficial. I split so much firewood that I don’t know what to do with it. I would do a 10 hour shift and come back home to split firewood in the evening until 11 pm while listening to my favorite songs.
I agree my friend! You can start selling firewood on Facebook Marketplace!
@@JackofHaulTrades You know, I really thought about it for a while, but then after looking at all the effort that went into it, I'm not too sure if it's even worth it. Maybe if I get in the mood again, i'll try selling some.
@@tractorworkandmore411 it's definitely not easy money for all the work it takes 😂😂
On them trailers have to see where you put load on for weight distribution can't be too front heavy are mess up tongue your a kid at Christmas time but your smart if it can make you money good for you
I agree you definitely have to load the cheap ones carefully 💪
Lots of logs to cut and sell 💪
Yessir, I got a bunch 😂💪
The firewood business in my state is heavily regulated. My wife and her friend had a firewood business by the bundle. They sold it at convenience stores the state dept of agriculture or weights and measures stepped in they had to make labels with the weight of the bundle name address and phone number. Maybe if you stay low but if you sell to campgrounds or stores. Get ready for a call.
Wow, that's interesting. What state is that in?
get Jeremiah to get one of those trailers he needs one haha
Hahaha he has like 5 of them full of junk 😂😂
Anyway to make extra money is good. When you have down time you can split some logs. Get it up and running and you can always hire someone to manage it once your open and running. You will figure out a way to make money. Keep grinding.

Just by hustling as hard as I can 😂
One business usually slows down, and another one picks up which helps keep the cash flow going!!
Love your train of though! I was wondering if there was any available at a nearby tractor supply? We have tons of them around in our area.

You should see if they sell a fire wood process attachment or one of your ride on skidsteer
They do make them, but they cost more than actual log splitters 😤
@JackofHaulTrades yeah but I've seen them in action before for regular skid steers and the work gets done 10 times faster and 10 times easier basically no lifting you just drive up to it and it does all the work for you what you save and time and energy more than makes up for the cost in my opinion put use in a log splitters just as good it's just a little bit more work
@scottweber7777 I totally agree with you, but it was hard for me to justify the cost before even making a dollar selling firewood. If I find it to be a good business, I can always get one down the line!
Easy 💰 money.. what took you so long?
I had a lot going on this summer!

I love to hear it! Thanks for the great comments boss 🫡🙏
U rock!
I appreciate the support! 🙏
Good to know. I assumed it was good because my brother in law owns it, and he usually does his research before buying anything 😂
Smart. Save dump fees and sell the wood!!!!!

Price difference on trailers is also because some are galvanized.
Could very well be it just depends on the manufacturer
Selling wood is ok. Just remember have to move it anywhere from 5 to 7 times to make your money. Time is money dollar a piece is best way to make money at it and wood has to be seasoned. Most of the time for tree services time filler.large production woodprocesser with right size wood 4 cord hr 200 grand investment selling wholesale only way to make real money at it. Good luck at it keep your fingers toes and lift wood or your back will give out moving large rounds.
You're absolutely right sir 🫡

Nice! What state are you in?
First of all pine is not junk. People burn it all the time. You have alot to learn before you call it junk kid...
Those wood split are junk I had 5 of them 👎🏻
Sheesh if they are so bad why did you buy 5?
@ because of the time I gave each one to my sons and I kept one for myself and they all broke. So now I have a estimate 1220 which is better than them. Do you wanna buy something? That’s gonna last a long time
