- After waiting years to receive the Ford Puma in South Africa it is finally here but the biggest talking point has been its pricing.
So in this review we discuss if Ford got the pricing right or missed the mark ? We look at both models of Puma , talk about the optional extras and compare the differences between Titanium and ST-Line Vignale models.

In future videos, I think you should add a “vs the competition” section where you compare the car being reviewed against its 3 or so competitors a bit more directly.

Thats a good idea, however it will work against him, especially if he's biased towards a certain brand, resulting in his followers discrediting his opinion and car brands refusing to give him cars to review, they could even sue him

My beef with the Puma is definitely the pricing, too much money for what you get. Yes it looks good enough but for less than R100 000 you can get yourself a 1.3L TCe Renault Captur Intens with 113kW(154PS) and 270nm of torque, also with a 7 speed EDC gearbox. It looks like Ford has gone the VW way with optional extras.
Unjustifiably overpriced. Good luck to ford in trying to sell that car lol

I bought one 3 months ago. In Romania i pay almost 22000 euros for a st-line with sunroof, 155 bhp with manual transmition. Everything is good till now. I had a 1500 km trip in mountains (city streets, intercity and highways) with a consumption of 6.1 lt/100 km witch is good for speeds from 30-40 km/h to 130-140 km/h.
It had caught my attention parked at a Ford dealership. Shock of my life at the price

I think the problem was that when it was announced, it was touted to be a replacement for the Fiesta, which made the price way too steep.

Im back from Ford Ranger xlt I agree with you Mr Howmuch it is a better option, even the fuel consumption of the xlt was lower than the puma. For should reduce the price of the puma by R150 000. The car is beautiful.
The Ford Ranger XLT makes so much sense , it’s honestly a bargain compared to the Puma , that’s where my money would go.

The car is a pricey
I have seen Ford Puma from as early as October its on show in our Ford dealership in our town here in the North West. This car in my view is slightly over priced but it's bold, sexy yet with touch of elegance. Would love to own one.

I went to FORD Ladysmith last week to check out the car, saw the ST-Line in black. I must say the car is beautiful and I think it is well priced, I can spend that R600k on ST-Line. I was kind of disappointed with the engine, I thought it will come with a 1.5-litre but it's fine still a good looking car.
1.5l is only for the ST Puma and ST Fiesta, it's the latest ecoboost called Dragon with 3 zylinders, the older 1.5l 4 zylinder was only in the Focus and Fusion models in S.A. Quite a peppy 134kW engine but needs proper warmup before demanding serious power. I have it on my Focus and it goes.
In 2014 it sold for 190g I litre fiesta I paid brand new
R671k I can buy Grand Vitara with similar fixtures and have more than 200k change

Used to have a Ford Fiesta Titanium candyblue, it was like an ST line in a way, just like this Puma. It was packed with features and naturally a car to trade it in against would have been this Puma. But the price 😂 nah, they should have released this car 2 years back, maybe the price would have been around R400k

Massaging seats should have been an Optional Extra. There are way too many better options available in the R600k price line. Even more in the 2nd hand market. This is after all an upgraded Ford Fiesta ST.

cars are so expensive now, The facelifted 2023 mercedes benz A class cost around R800 000 with a 1.3 toyota conquest engine just imagine.
The car is good yes, but R671 000 it's get a Pre owned VW Tiguan R line
They say it competes with the t-roc, amongst others, but the T-Roc costs R650k for a brand new Volkswagen T-Roc 2.0TSI 140kW 4Motion Design. Sure it might not have all the extras but im sure a better specced T-roc 1.4TSI will be far better than what the Puma has to offer.
The fact that the Puma makes a VW offering like better value for money says it all 😂
