The project, originally meant for Prayagraj and named Sangam Wheel, is now being shifted to Gorakhpur for reasons that are unclear to me. Similarly, the international cricket stadium planned for Prayagraj has been moved to Varanasi, seemingly due to political reasons. Furthermore, a proposed 600-acre international-level airport in Prayagraj was canceled and replaced with a smaller terminal. The metro project was scrapped, and a less extensive 'metrolite' system was introduced, despite Prayagraj having a substantial population. There has also been no development of economic zones or defense corridors here. It seems like Prayagraj is being unfairly sidelined, while Varanasi and Gorakhpur are receiving disproportionate attention. The pace of development in Prayagraj is alarmingly slow, to the point where even bridge construction remains incomplete, and temporary steel fixes are being proposed. Many projects, including those for Mahakumbh, are still unfinished, while projects in Varanasi and Gorakhpur are moving ahead rapidly, despite the pressing needs in Prayagraj. If not for Mahakumbh, the current level of development here likely wouldn’t be happening at all.
prayagraj is not developing at the level it should be developed. no politician is concerned about its development. once being capital of up as well as india now its most ignored and discrimnated city of india.its a god gifted city as it is the only city in up which has largest human ghathering on earth thanks to god due to mahakumbh mighty rivers junction.this city has 6 railway junctions and has location advantage due to its central location and mighty rivers and railway lines government is in helplessness to make bridges and flyovers to cross mighty rivers and major rail routes making it now city of bridges and flyovers as many as 25+ flyovers are underconstruction in prayagraj and its surrounding areas.
