Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your join. The old folks never blocked. They used the warmth of their hands to block as they were going. But, I fully understand blocking, it's just that I rarely have to. ❤❤
That is so nice, the warmth of your hands, like infusing the work with love, Love It! I tend to have cold hands 😞, so I let the steamer do the trick. Thanks for watching
I’ve completed 25 squares so just 10 more to go and then I’ll be following this tutorial to join them. I’m super excited as this will be my first granny square blanket that I’ll have completed 🥳🥰
I love this join, i've often struggled with making my joins look decent. This is a very simple way to do it and looks great. Thank you for your tutorial!
I love love this join! I love all your projects! I am a 72 year old that has learned more from you that I really appreciate! Thank you!!! Heather from Southern Alberta Canada!
Thanks for helping me fine tune my granny square finishing knowledge. I love the look, it's so professional. Your voice is so calm, and you have great tips. I definitely subscribed to your channel.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Jane, thanks so much for showing the close up detail at the junction. I am waiting for yarn to make a throw for my grand daughter. It really seems that granny squares are a big hit with the younger generation. Its nice to see! Thanks for your time and patience with us, you're greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad the junction detail helped you out. I used to try and make these videos shorter, but I am finding people are liking the extra explanation and close up details. Thanks for your feedback on that, it helps me going forward with new videos. You have a lucky granddaughter getting a beautiful handmade treasure full of love! Enjoy
I love your strip joining via crochet rather than joining with darning needle & stitches. Great tutorial. I need to get busy & create more squares! I know my 1st project by following you wont be intimidating as I believed. Trisha Jane
So glad you found this helpful, I love crocheting them too and it really is alot faster, at least I think so! Good luck with your project and thanks for watching.
I was surprised that in your blocking, the squares were actually a bit bigger than the pinned measurement. I've only made one granny square blanket but I did just the opposite and stretched the squares at least 1/4" in each direction! Thank you for showing the correct method and especially for listing your beautiful yarn choices and amounts. 😍🧶
These squares did turn out a little looser, I think I was on "loose crochet mode" sometimes they turn out a little smaller, same hook, just different day I guess. I don't like to stretch them as the steamer relaxes them enough. The ch 2 around the square create a lot of extra space, but makes for a really nice flowing blanket. Glad you like the square, Enjoy
Thank you so much for the tutorial. This is the absolute best advice I’ve ever heard. The joining method is also the best I have seen I am very excited to use this in my next blanket ❤🎉
Your words have made my day. Love hearing how your experiences are. I started joining like this to give myself a simple way to join my squares without having to sew them. So I am glad others like it too. Enjoy making your blanket
I’ve just joined my 7 squares into 5 strips. Do you sew your ends in before joining all the strips or after? I’m so excited I’m on the last part and I’ve never done a granny square blanket before. I’ve also ordered more yarn to do your basic granny squares and turn that into a blanket for me to snuggle up with in the winter 💖
I work my square ends in as I go, and then the ends for sewing the squares together I have done both before and after. if I wait and sew them in after, I have more places to hide them, but it is neater to put together and less hassle if I sew them in before.
They can take a bit to dry when you soak them. Did you roll them in a towel to soak up excess water? It helps a bit. Spraying them with water is also an alternative to soaking that dries faster
Beautiful 🤩 work. Thank you for spending your time to show us your techniques. I was laughing about your kitty. 🐈⬛ I have three. The minute I get situated and get my hook going, here at least one of them comes. Most of the tits two. 🤦♀️
Thanks so much for your kind words, so glad you enjoy the videos. We have two and as well as demanding to be fed 24/7, they are also very good at stealing chairs when you get up for 2 seconds lol. If we had 3 I'm sure I would be sitting on the floor all the time!
This is the only join I’ve seen that I love and that I know I can do without losing my mind. Thank you!❤
Thanks so much, I love it, yes the trying to join without "losing our minds" is a thing!! So glad this works for you, Enjoy

How soon will part 3 be ready to show how to do border? Thanks
Just went up today, good timing. Enjoy!
Hello, I soak my squares and it took 2 days to dry. I laid them flat but ended up hanging them up to dry.

@jspcreate roll them up and lay them flat on the towel
