How to Change Mic From PS5 Controller to Wired Headset (PS5 Mic Not Working Fix)

- Do you want to know how to change your microphone on your PS5 controller to your wired headset? This is very easy to do. If your wired headset is not working try unmuting the mic on the headset itself and then plug it into your PS5 controller. Now use the mute / unmute button on the PS5 controller. If you mute your mic on the headset, on some headsets it will turn it off and disconnect it from the PS5! So you should be able to use it with your PS5 if you unmute it and then plug it in. ...

Thank you so much! I'm an older guy. My son gave me the ps5, and i didn't realize that on the cord to the headset, there was a mute button. Lmao problem solved.

My problem is, everything seems normal, but videos don't pick up my voice, and I doubt voice chats in games will pick up my voice either in that case.

@@ajroth419 apparently on new PS5s the mic is turned off by default. So press share, and there should be some settings type area, and then you can turn your mic on.

I’m having a problem. I purchased a mic but I’m also using the PS gold headset. When I turn off the Ps5 and come back later it defaults to PS gold headset mic. How do I stop this from happening? It is so annoying to have to go into settings to change it all the time. Thanks
why when I plug headphones into the controller, I go to settings, input device, but the microphone does not appear there, only the microphone of the controller

Try going to : setting, devices , audio , output to headphones : ALL AUDIO . Mine is ps4 and it worked this way not sure about ps5

So the issue I believe it is is that it's not using my mic on my headset but the mic on the controller. People always say my mic sounds janky or I sound really far away... I have a pair of astro A40s when I'm away with my PS5 I don't bring the amp with me and I just plug into the controller

Hi i just found ur video and i wanted to say is that when i plugged my mic to the controler it made a wierd noise and then cuts in to a no audio, when i unplugged my mic i try to use my controler mic to talk but for some reason it dont work it has the mute button off, when i plugged the mic again it still dont hear nothing
Same here i just slowly pushed the chord in until i heard the sound and stopped when i heard it, because anytime i plug it all the way in it doesnt work. So the chords hanging out of the controller halfway but thts what worked for me 🤷🏾♂️

No this didn’t help at all. I’m trying to use my PS4 mic for Cold War zombies and it mutes the game, even though NOTHING is actually muted. On top of that I can BARELY hear people in my lobby.

No tried what you said it dosent work. My mike only works on the controler. Head phones work but mike still gose through the controler. Only seems to work with mike on the controler. Under accessories it comes up with headset controller . And wireless controler . When I click on the headset menu it won't go into any option not sure how for this option to work
