You should react to the new material "Human. :. Nature", was released in april. Its a great album, listen:
      Music
      Pan
      Tribal
      Noise
All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World.
The last live material was live in buenos aires (2018) you could react to:
      Elvenpath
      10th man down
      Sacramento of wilderness
      I want my tears back

In case you don't know, Floor's husband is Hannes Van Dahl. He's the drummer of an awesome band called Sabaton. You might want to check them out sometime. Also if you like Symphonic Metal, check out Within Temptation and Epica. They are really good too.

Finaly you did the Greatest Show on Earth, unfortunatly not till the end of the credits cuz the last spoken words are in there but you guys are forgiven you can still watch it yourselfs. Now for something different, please check out Nightwish Devil and the deep dark Ocean live from Buenos Aires 2018 and then check out their new Album Human :II: Nature (released last April 10th) there are lyric video's and 1 music video's of it, Nightwish uploaded them all so please react to them in order starting with the song Music :) And Nightwish has no bad or Bathroom songs or it must be Master Passion Greed, there is only a lyric video of it, they will never perform it live cuz of the reason behind the song

Still waiting on Phantom of the Opera with Tarja and Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembley.... preferably in that order. It might help add to the context of Poet if you see and hear Tarja first. But do some research before listening to Poet. Great reaction you two. Cheers from Green Bay.

Great reaction as usual! Did you hear the bit from the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, a couple measures before the Enter Sandman riff? Not to mention a little country riff in there, and some techno-pop beats. Tuomas manages to throw in a bit of music history as he's telling the history of life on Earth.
Next up for Nightwish: The Islander live from Tampere (same show as this one) for some Marco love, and Yours Is an Empty Hope live from Wembley for a serious headbanger with a bit of a surprise included!
    Nightwish has no bathroom songs!

If I was a biology teacher, I'd show this video in class on the first day of the year. 🤓
You did miss a little bit of narration at the end of the credits. It goes like this :
"There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers
Having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one
And that whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity
From so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been
    And are being, evolved"
It's important, but it's not exactly the end of the world as some other comments make it sound lol. Also, the narrator is Professor Richard Dawkins, a famous evolution biologist. He wrote many books, one of which is titled Endless Forms Most Beautiful, and another one that is titled "The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution" . Tuomas read those and was highly inspired by the work of Richard Dawkins. This is where the whole EFMB album comes from. At the end of The Greatest Show on Earth, in Wembley (U.K.), Professor Dawkins actually goes on stage and does the last bit of narration live.

    • @demise0
      @demise0 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

The song does not include the big bang. The title of the first part is "4 point 6", i.e. the age of the Earth (in billions of years). According to Tuomas, the first part is the pre-life history of the Earth. Starting at the creation/formation of the Earth - from the accretion disk collapsing together in bigger and bigger chunks until there's the ball of mass that is the Earth (all the first fireworks). Then later, the early bombardment of meteors. Eventually, in the swirling mass of lifeless chemicals bathing the Earth, something magical happens... (enter part 2 - Life).

Hi Father and son. I love how you do your Reactions; watching the whole video without interuption. I´ve seen others react to videos. Most of them constantly pause it. In my opinion, that way one is not able to truely get the whole picture, to really experience the intire show. Thumbs up from me.
And I like to tell you a little story:
I used to be a big Nightwish Fan at the time of Tarja Turunen, their original singer. When she left, she also left a hole. Her replacement, Anette Olzon, was in my opinion not up to the task. With her, Nightwish was not the same anymore. I distanced myself from that Band. ... Many years later I found out by coincident, that they have a new singer: Floor Jansen. I listened to one of her song. That song was Ghost Love Score. I tell you, at the end of that song I had tears in my eyes. For me Nightwish was reborn. I hope they never part from Floor.

This one is one of their epic multipart theme songs.. You probably know Tuomas "the keyboard player" writes 90% percent of the Nightwish music.. So some songs like this are themed around what is inspiring him at the time, This is a multipart story about the origins and evolution of the earth throughout time. That's why he includes the Darwin quotes as well..

Your narrator in this video was Prof. Richard Dawkins, noted evolutionary biologist who lectures at Oxford University. The two narrations you heard are from his own books. You cut the video before you heard his third narration, which quoted Charles Darwin's "On The Origin of Species".
There's another video for this song online, taken from their Wembley Arena show, where Prof. Dawkins himself appears at the very end and presents that final reading to the crowd...to thunderous applause and cheers.

Greetings from Finland & thanks for choosing the Tampere 2015 live show for this reaction. If you have time, this might be an interesting read about this song that in essence tells the story of our universe & the evolution of life on Earth from the Big Bang until the present day & even a glimpse of the future for mankind: Why Nightwish’s “The Greatest Show on Earth” is also one of the greatest songs medium.com/option-x/why-nightwishs-the-greatest-show-on-earth-is-also-one-of-the-greatest-songs-dfc703f658a3
P.S. Fun fact: This song took 2½ weeks to mix in the studio as it has over 800 separate audio tracks with not only various instruments & vocals, but a lot of animal sounds also,
P.S.S. Take care & stay safe. Also, if it's a science teacher that asks why you were not at school, just play this song to him/her & say that you took some extra curriculum lessons in evolution.

Did you guys notice the Metallica "Enter Sandman" riff at 16:00? I see somebody already mentioned in the comments that you missed the ending part. It's a little disappointing, but I'm not gonna give you too much heck like some people do. I've seen some reactors get totally berated for missing that...to the point of name-calling. I'm not gonna be "that guy". There was more fireworks and another speech by Richard Dawkins. Anyways, this is one of the greatest songs on earth performed by one of the greatest bands on earth haha! The Wembley version actually has Richard Dawkins doing his speech live, but I prefer this version because of the fireworks and I think the actual music performance is better (by just a hair). This isn't just a song, it's a journey. Wait until you do The Poet And The Pendulum (Wembley)...hint, hint! I also would love to see Nightwish live one day...that's on my bucket list for sure, I tell you what! Cheers! Edit...no bathroom songs IMO.

Besides Enter Sandman, there were about 30 second part where they played several different tunes throughout the history of music. First, I guess some Mozart, correct me if I'm wrong, then some banjo playing, Enter Sandman and the last was some techno beat just before Floor started again. Just listen carefully again and be surprised.

The Greatest Show on Earth was the last song of the concert, so in the contrast why both of you don't react to the first song of this concert next time?
It's called Shudder Before the Beautiful, and it's an awesome song, you will love the solo of that song

21:25 The speech is a sample from Richard Dawkins' book "Unweaving the Rainbow", red by the author, who also appears on stage with them in the Wembley arena version of the song. The album this song is from was largely inspired by his books and "The Greatest Show on Earth" is actually the tittle of one of them.

Nice fireworks! For the show, it almost reminds me of Rammstein and their use of pyrotechnics at their live shows, too, which is awesome to see Nightwish incorporate that, too! The song overall was incredible! Love the buildup, the power and energy, and the nice fade out at the end. I keep getting blown away by them. lol
Also, I'm a sucker for anything related to existentialism, so the last speaking segment at the end was awesome. What they were talking about reminds me of a speech from Dr. Manhattan in the Watchmen comics, about how lucky we are being born and to be alive from the countless odds against it, and to think about those who haven't even had that opportunity. It's kind of like a miracle in and of itself, that we are the ones who come out of it, from all that chaos that is a part of life. Also feels like something Alan Watts would say, too, and I love that dude. haha
It.... can be pretty heavy stuff for someone who hasn't thought about these kinds of things. I mean I could go on about stuff like that, because I LOVE LOVE LOVE existentialism! So interesting to me. :P
Every single person born is unique, and special. Embrace the weird, embrace your individuality. Because you are you, and no one else is like you. You are a miracle. (As I said.... I love existential things, and I can passionate about them. lol)
And yeah, school or no school, I don't think missing Nightwish is remotely an option. hehe
A weak spot for Nightwish... I don't know. There was a song I wasn't much of a fan of by them, that was mostly folk rock, which isn't really my thing.... Maybe listening to an entire Nightwish album? I know, it sounds crazy, but each Nightwish song I've listened to you guys react are all "epic" and "grand" sounding, and I think maybe listening to songs like that back to back to back to back on an album might be exhausting.
But, I don't know. I haven't listened to a full album from Nightwish yet, so maybe they do mix things up to keep songs like that feel fresh and rewarding. So that's just me projecting.
And yeah, you both are great! Glad you started the channel! The moment where you both had your arms around each other was pretty cool. Love that kind of connection being shown through music that means so much to you both.
And S, tell your Dad he's great too, and we appreciate his input and perspective with the songs you both react to as well. The channel wouldn't be the same without him to react at your side.

So if you're planning on The Poet and the Pendulum (live at wembley) there is a with lyrics video which I highly recommend using. Also understanding the background about the song, knowing Toumas wrote it in deep depression after having to fire the first singer and childhood friend, opera singer Tarja, who they found high fame with her distinct singing style. He felt so depressed that within the song he commits lyrical 'suicide' so he didnt have to in reality. Let's all be thankful he battled through those dark days and came through, to give us all these masterpieces we all hear today- like this song! The Greatest Show on Earth!
As for the 'bathroom song' ... there's no such thing since you will lose your place in the crowd 😆 but The Carpenter (being their oldest single) is not as maturely developed as their newer works. Nightwish have had a huge development over the decades they have been together. Old Nightwish sounds nothing like the band today.
Great reaction btw! I love watching you both respond to NW

The band have evolved over the 20 odd years and the new album is very different from their earlier, heavier stuff but I'm also more mature so I love their evolution. After a longtime thinking, yes I found a weak spot. During that song you could go to the toilet. It was during the Imaginaerum tour, when Troy that played that five minute pipesong (a Finnish hymn) not as the intro, but somewhere halfway the concert. The location was Paris, 14.000 people.

Their upcoming world tour are actually in line with this song - the red line are the human race / nature.
A little background: Tuomas, Floor and Troy all wanted to be biologist, when they were young, and they all are deeply interested in the nature, evolution and science. Tuomas is a genius composer and lyrics writer, all his lyrics are tellings with depth in. And Floor are completely phenomenal at delivering the soul, emotions and feelings in the song, to the audience. She is the living lyrics on stage - live. These 6 musicians are giving you a lifetime experience, each an every time.
