I don't know if this game was that accurate, there wasn't a single roll of duct tape used anywhere. Every shop or mechanic always has some for some reason.
I've come across truckers whose entire semi is basically held together by duct tape,right stuff silicone and a dash of dumb luck.
... no such thing as duct tape in the 1940's. Polyvinyl duck tape wasn't invented until the late 1960's. The common saying for "Gerry Rigged" repairs in WWII was "... it's held together with bubble gum and bailing wire" which in some cases wasn't far from the truth.
There was a type of duct tape used in WW2 (invented around 1943.) It used cloth fabric and rubber based adhesive with polyethylene for waterproofing instead of polyvinyl. Whether it was actually called duct tape at the time is a matter of debate though.
I work on jet engines on a military flightline for a living. We have to check out all our tools and consumables through a CTK counter, because we’re too retarded to be trusted to keep track of them ourselves. Anyway, you have to have a half hour debate with them every single time you want to check out duct tape, to convince them you actually really do need it. The duct tape needs to be bright red, so that in case our tiny IQ results in the tape being left on the plane, it can be spotted by one of the genuises over at production and removed prior to flight. And because somebody high up the chain in supply decided on a duct tape contractor that is either ripping the air force off, or making the tape out of literal unobtainium, each tiny roll apparently costs something like 50 bucks apiece. So CTK treats it like the next best thing since sliced bread, and you have to be put on trial to determine if you’re worthy of the holy duct tape every time you need it... As a result, duct tape, the world’s simplest and most versatile material, a material developed for the military back in WW2 for sealing ammo cans, is actually shockingly absent from today’s military flight lines... Or my flight line, at the very least.

Peter Moore; This is true, but it was not what we understand "Duck Tape" or duct tape to be for the last 50 years. The tape you refer to was used as a weather seal, mostly for ammunition boxes, invented by Vesta Stoudt in 1943 and considered the "mother" of modern duct tape. Her tape wasn't very strong being made of cotton "duck" cloth (which is a name for a type of canvas cloth) and the rubber was more of a seal than an adhesive. A type of electrical tape was made similarly using linen cloth and depended on heat to bond several layers of the rubber coating into a single rubber insulator.

They have the fuel cap at the top of the plain because it’s a gravity fed fuel system so instead of using more money In the design and more power for a fuel pump the gas tanks are above the engine

The tiger moth was used as an RAF trainer for basic flight training during WW2. Some are even still in use for this purpose today.

You might find interesting; the Tiger Moth was a de Havilland aircraft used by the British Royal Air force primarily as a flight trainer for new pilots in WWII - probably why your pilot keeps smashing up the undercarriage. Too late to see service in WWI, they were also used for maritime surveillance and even light bombers at the beginning of WWII. de Havilland aircraft were some of the clunkiest looking airplanes, even today. Watch a modern DASH 8-400 land like a near sighted goose, but de Havilland aircraft have always been extremely stable flyers. The aircraft and engine model and textures here are surprisingly realistic.

Just to be informative at about 5:04 he asks why the tank is a the top and that is actually because fuel pumps (what pumps fuel to the engine) was not yet invented so they used gravity fed tanks,that’s why some engines would be cut off when flying be the g-forces wouldn’t allow fuel to be fed through the line

As someone who is training to be an aircraft mechanic, I can tell you it isn't that easy. Fuel is put in the wing for balance and space.

the fuel tank is on top or above engine level because it is gravity fed. the gravity does the pushing of fuel into your cylinders in that way you wont need booster pumps thus lowering a/c weight in which in world war times, every weight that can be deducted to your aircraft's empty weight is very important because it means that you can carry more loads like ammunitions and payloads...
Im going to school for aircraft maintenance this would be the perfect game for me

The tiger moth is a training plane that saw some action during ww2 so, yes it is from ww2 . For your information , the famous children book athuor Ronald Dale used one tiger moth training model for training purposes .which explains the second cockpit for the instructor.

The fuel tanks are inside the upper wing and a fed to the engine by gravity but newer planes and under winged planes are not gravity fed systems anymore they are injected into the engine

but more seriously it's a trainer aircraft (to train future pilots) even though the brits tried to arm them with bombs but being a biplan is not a good thing for bombers
This game would be a lot more interesting if you could fix the plane and then test fly it to make sure you did it correctly. If you didn't, you crash and die haha
