To unlock sooga you gotta make sure ALL yiga members don’t sacrifice themselves or die. This includes sooga himself, when the giga blade master goes through the door you can go back and enter through it to save him
Considering he's now playable and the true ending credit cutscenes with Terrako involving the Yiga clan show him alive with Kohga, I believe he survived in the end.
Honestly the only legitimate evidence was the true ending The playable character roster point will always be flimsy for an argument because it also included Calamity Ganon, but was sealed away in the story.

I don't really have any evidence to prove it but I just feel like it'd be neat. They definitely should've revealed his face in his last fight against Link. It would've been badass for Link to Crack Sooga's mask more and make it fall off.
I honestly think he might be Dorian. He used to be a Yiga, was threatened when he left, he isn't in ToTK or BoTW. If Khoga has lived this long and looks the EXACT same, I'm sure Sooga could too

In the main TL he 100% died thats likely Imo AoC created a split when yiga sided against the calamity, if that didnt happen, he likely met his end during the start of the reposessing of gaurdians

Sheikah can live well over a hundred, but not necessarily other Hylians. If Sooga was a Sheikah, he may have lived, shrunk (as Sheikah are want to do with age), and became a mere trainer or mentor. If Sooga however was not a Sheikah by blood, he likely died, naturally or otherwise, during the skipped century.

Someone never watched the true ending, which made Terrako’s return also official in the AoC story. Had Sooga died, he wouldn’t have appeared in it. It wouldn’t have made sense if there was a double of him or a new second in command if we never saw that character beforehand.
