  • Mississippi Petrified Forest | Inexpensive Hidden Treasure In The Hospitality State
    Did you know that the state of Mississippi has a hidden gem that might be a little unexpected? The Mississippi Petrified Forest is a wonderful place where you can roam amidst fallen giants of the past and learn about how waters once swelled over lands and brought these huge pieces to an area just north of Jackson.

    I love rocks, minerals and gems. I took my kids to the local mineral and gem shows, mainly for the fossils, but my 15 yr old fell in love with fluorescent rocks. She became the youngest member of the Fluorescent Mineral Society at 15 yrs old, and filled a display case with her collection at several shows. Made me proud, and as a teenager, she was rubbing elbows with USGS geologists, PhDs, Lawrence Livermore Lab researchers, and computer scientists from Berkeley. Not that she profited financially, but it was pleasing to see her interacting with brilliant minds to ponder the wonders of the earth.

      That is pretty cool! I think that a lot of us are impacted by the things that we do when we are younger and I know for a fact that because my family introduced me to historic markers and different things that didn’t cost a lot of money but could be interesting things to find that really sparked my sense of enjoyment of those items that I still share with people today here on my channel.

      This comment right here is exactly why I go to the places that I do! There are so many places that we have no idea even exist so sharing them all allows us all to figure out different places we might be interested in going. This is why I started my channel so that we could share these kinds of things so that hopefully more people could discover really cool things out there in our world around us.

    This is cool. I fish at a lake in Mississippi that is an underwater petrified forest. Lake Okissa. A dam was built and they flooded the valley and left all the trees standing. It’s 80ft deep in some places and the tree tops are right at the surface. There are actually many of them but Okissa is my favorite.

      @@BunnyPlaysHere I read the site information and I was under the wrong impression. It is actually rock that looks like petrified wood. How odd is that? It’s called Petrifiying Spring County Park in Kenosha County Wisconsin. I was disappointed to learn this.

  • @cathylivingston368
    @cathylivingston368 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    It's fascinating to think that the petrified "rock" trees could be moved or wash around by moving currents of water. They don't float very well, so there must have been a LOT of water to move them to their current 🤔 location! Amazing sites and the glory of nature can be found wherever you are, so take the time to check it out. Planning a trip to revisit Pinnacles National Monument in CA soon, with caves and ancient volcanic tubes that have been exposed by erosion, leaving tall columns of lava rock to climb and admire. It also provides clues to other geological phenomenon that are relevant to our current experience , like earthquakes and geothermal energy. 😍

    • @BunnyPlaysHere
      @BunnyPlaysHere  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Absolutely that’s one of the more interesting things that I find about places like this just to imagine the world looking so different that things like this could be floated around or washed around is incredible. Especially considering how far we are away from the coast or any flowing river at this location

    It's crazy to see "grown" people coloring their hair and styling it like teenagers. At some point you should go work with a real quality counselor who can take you through the trauma and get you healed, so that you can stop trying to change the way you look to fix the inside of your broken soul. It doesn't work. It only makes a large portion of society look at you like you're a childish, damaged, immature brat of an adult. You can say you don't care but, if or when you meet people that you really need to interact well with, and the way you look is so off-putting to them that you lose that opportunity to know that person personally. Those types of people are the ones who can help you really advance and change your life for the better.

    • @BunnyPlaysHere
      @BunnyPlaysHere  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that hairstyle shouldn’t be something that equate to lifelong trauma. I think sometimes hair is just hair. And instead of trying to bring someone down by saying nasty things, you should just let hair be hair. Sometimes just because something isn’t something you like doesn’t mean that you need to talk about it. I think it’s really sad that instead of just moving on from this video because it wasn’t of interest because you don’t like my hairstyle you instead took the time out of your day to say nasty things. I feel bad for you that that’s your mentality because you’re really missing out on the bigger picture of life. If you seem to think that everything that you don’t like or you don’t think is OK has to do with something bad for someone else. I have no childhood drama. I have no issues, and I have no problems in my life that equate to why I have the hairstyle that I do. In fact, I have a hair styled. It works well with me as I travel across the country and it’s easy for me to maintain by myself so that I don’t have to necessarily seek out salons across the nation which would lead to a lot of unnecessary spending an a lot of hair trauma. My hair has nothing to do with anything that relates to your life whatsoever. So instead of just watching the video for what it is, you decided to be hyper focused on just that one thing maybe…… You should be the one seeking counseling. Normally, I would not give the time of day to someone like yourself because I think this is asinine. However, I think that more frequently we should realize that if it does not relate to us, maybe we shouldn’t speak on it have the day that you deserve.

    • @BunnyPlaysHere
      @BunnyPlaysHere  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Additionally, I think that it’s very very funny that you seem to think that my interactions would be damaged with others because through my travels I’ve actually met a lot of really Amazing people many of which are very important in their fields. I’ve also had numerous opportunities professionally because guess what they really don’t care about my hair they care about the Contant of my character, which is way more important, and I think that if you were to give a moment of listening to anything that I have to say you would understand that I am much more in a floof on top of my head lol. However, I don’t expect you to understand that because clearly you’re hung up in your own issues about judgment. I never learned the golden rule. Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you.
