I have the same exact puzzle bought Le Louvre so many years ago, and finally doing it right now. Literally now as my Chinese Lunar New Year activity (Happy Lunar New Year to those who are celebrating! 🥳) But wondering how big this thing is, to know how much space I need to do this project… Oh never mind it is written on the side of the box, I just read it now… 67.7cm * 47.7 cm or 26 1/2 inches * 18 3/4 inches Wow that’s bigger than I thought… Well kinda the true reason why I bought this puzzle though It was funny because I never truly am a puzzle person, but I was disappointed when I visited Le Louvre, because it was a long line up to see Mona Lisa, but the result… just looking a painting that was probably same as a A4 sized piece of paper or smaller. Oh also, ⚠️Beware of the pickpockets in that area of museum! Lots of them! ⚠️ So I told myself maybe this puzzle idea is better, so I can create something bigger than the version displayed at museum. 😂🤣😜🤪 Isn’t that a funny reason why I bought this puzzle? And yes now I have to take this challenge and asking myself why I am doing this loooooool Wish me luck
Hi, i'm so far that i only have to do the black pieces to finish the puzzle. But it is very difficult, because these pieces are so much identical. How did you do these pieces?
Like you can see in the video, I lay out all the pieces sorted by shape. Then at first pick any that have a greyish/brownish/reddish tint to them, sometimes it's very subtle. When all that are left are truly almost identical then i try to match by shape. Clementoni has some nice shapes to help with that, eg. some pieces have unusually large or curved holes and tabs that match. So these pieces go together if you can find them. Then just try to fill in the picture, first any smaller areas, then if you have a large gap, starting from the corners. There isn't really any more advice to it, just trial and error (a lot of it).
@@PatternsandPieces Hi, thank you for your answer to my question! It took me 1 week to complete the ''Black pieces''. I got so angry when i couldn't do it:) With your information it worked. Just lay out all the pieces sorted by shape. Look at colours and shape that you need and start from the corners, try! I am so happy that i did it and that i refused to stop or threw it away! It took me 2 months. Argg! Now it's hanging on the wall of my bedroom. It's framed and there is glass in front. It's never going anywhere without me. I'm now 16 y/o. When i'm a teacher on a primary school in the future ''the Mona Lisa puzzle'' will hang on the wall of the classroom forever and hunderds of children will watch it over the years, until i retire!!! And i'm gonna tell them what the story behind ''the Mona Lisa'' is. So a BIG THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO COMPLETE!
I match the pieces by colour/shade first, then by "texture" (this is a print of an oil painting covered in cracks so there are areas with more cracks and some are smoother), then by shape of the piece if possible, then guessing and trying all available pieces comes last.
Hi, I don't know exactly but under 15 hrs - I'd say 13-15 hours. Usually 1000 pcs puzzles take me 6-9 hours but there were a lot of nearly identical pieces in this one.
I'm on a 1000 piece puzzle also, 2 owls in a forest setting with like THOUSANDS of different colors, i swear....this is the HARDEST thing i think i've ever attempted to pull off. 😪😪😪
I started with the bordes 🤗

@@Willeke1674 from what angle did you start. Im having a tough time with starting this.
Seperate all pieces first into different colours
In the beggining you started with the yellow peices to make the face and the hand, but how did u know is it like a guess to know where which one goes?

Awesome! How long did it take you?
Between 13-15 hrs - lots of nearly identical black pieces made it hard to complete.
