Yes that Van album is a smoker alright. My top five 1. Tower of Power - Back To Oakland 2. Crusaders - Scratch 3. Maria Muldaur Waitress In A Donut Shop 4. Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express Straight Ahead 5. Syreeta (Self titled album ). Great video as usual.
Thanks. I love Trower’s Bridge of Sighs. 1974 albums I like: Savoy Brown - Boogie Brothers, Robert Wyatt- Rock Bottom, John Sebastian- Tarzana Kid, Gentle Giant- Power and the Glory, and Captain Beefheart - Unconditionally Guaranteed. Also, back in 74, FM radio played Kraftwerk- Autobahn and Frank Zappa’s - Apostrophe a lot (Both fantastic.) Will check out your R&B picks.
“Borbeletta” by Santana would be my choice. “Sally Can’t Dance” by Lou Reed is another overlooked album. Love that Robin Trower album you chose. So many great album releases from 1974 including….Clapton and Stevie Wonder and Bad Company ….the list is endless.
Thanks for your continued reviews of past overlooked albums.I have a few Van Morrison's albums and Procol Harum with Robin Trower, but none of your features today. Keep up the good work.
It is, for sure. But underrated? Nah. I would definitely have mentioned it, but people would've been all over my ass about it not being underrated. 😂 Cheers!
Maybe Frankie Miller had just come inside from a day in the sun. I do dig your soul and r & b leanings and will be checking out some of these titles. Great upload.
Thanks as ever for another entertaining and knowledgeable episode. Wondered if you'd checked out one of Frankie Miller's contemporaries, Jess Roden ? He's in the same camp as Frankie and was quite big in the U.K. around the early to mid-seventies. Marvellous singer and made some fine white soul albums. Definitely one for the Danger ! Thanks again Craig.
I have not checked out, Jess Roden, but deeply appreciate the mention, Phil. Love it! I will definitely be hearing Mr. Roden this week! Appreciate the recommend. 🤘😁
That robin trower album is fantastic also check out his albums with Jack Bruce check out their 1982 album truce it's just like cream Robin and Jack were awesome together a few more underrated albums to recommend wishbone ash there's the rub the first to feature Laurie wisefield and this era of the band is amazing this is an fantastic album, the sensational Alex Harvey band the impossible dream, Nazareth rampant and rod Stewart smiler
“In This Place” from Bridge of Sighs is my favorite Robin Trower song. High Life is an incredible album. Freedon for the Stallion by The Hues Corporation is another great lost album from 1974.
I have Freedom For The Stallion actually. I'll have to give it a relisten. Love anything produced by @JOHNFLOREZ51446. He's got a great TH-cam channel as well. 🤘😁
Yes, that segue from the tension of the title track into In This Place is the highlight of the wonderful Bridge of Sighs album. It's like peace after the storm and a beautiful resolution. Dewar's moody vocal and Robin's blues white-out are impeccable. Great album of contrasts, beautiful guitar playing and deep lyrics. Still Robin's finest work.
Haha. I'm gonna take that as a big compliment, Chuck. 😆 What can I say? The Danger loves to talk music and tries hard to not be dull while doing it! Appreciate the comment! 🤘😁

Thanks for the great comment! Man. You're setting my up with a helluva long list of LPs to listen to. Cheers! 🤘😁
King Crimson "Red" turns 50 on 10/1/24. One of the best releases that year.

Wow. Love. Love. Love! This comment. This is some great '74 business, John. Appreciated! 🤘😁

Yep. Lotta legendary LPs. This is Golden Era Business.🔥
The first Kansas album had some great stuff on it imo...
Frankie Miller is BAD.ASS. needs more exposure - his catalog is awesome
@@sim0n17 totally agree. Waaayyy underrated, and no one in North America has even heard of the dude, sadly. Thanks for the comment! 🤘😁

Thanks for watching, and always appreciate the comment, @hartleycwhite. 🤘😁
Hey Graig, That Van album is in my top live albums of all time. Thanks. Loving the takes
The live Van album in my opinion is the best live album ever. Got it on vinyl and CD.
@@JoyDivision88 nice! Thanks for commenting! 🤘😁
That Trower lp is great. I have it. How about THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN GRILL by Hawkwind? Have never heard of Frankie Miller.
Anything Hawkwind tends to be pretty fun. Thanks for the comment! 🤘😁
Bad Company- "Bad Company" absolutely epic album
It is, for sure. But underrated? Nah. I would definitely have mentioned it, but people would've been all over my ass about it not being underrated. 😂 Cheers!
The Be Bop-Deluxe album behind you: "Axe Victim" is a corker!
Bought Robin's album when it was released. I was in high school at the time. Fantastic !
That Laura Lee track is superb! Going to give the whole album a listen on Spotify. Cheers Craig🙏
Glad you like. A lot of the Invictus/Hot Wax stuff wasn't available on streaming until really this year. So your timing is impeccable! 🤘😁

Dude, you remind me of me. That's unfortunate for us both. Rock' n' Roll minutia has got to be a minor form of autism.
Haha. I'm gonna take that as a big compliment, Chuck. 😆 What can I say? The Danger loves to talk music and tries hard to not be dull while doing it!

I think I have the Robin Trower on cd...
But I'm definitely going to check the Tom Brock and Frankie Miller
Thank you again.
Anytime, Bruno! Thanks for tuning in! 🤘😁
