Tbh the mage can infinitely reset by polymorphing you so you can win if the mage fucks up and you oneshot him, if he survives he can easily recover. So yea. Awful matchup.
Yeah was allways like that until Wotlk-Mop basically then they got 2 Charges and could Charge in Combat + Bladestorm that was a Nova Root Break Abilite and it makes you Immun to CC + you get Reflect it basically made Warrior viable but in Classic all those Abilites are missing you got 1 single Charge and a 30 Second Cd on Intercept the Gap Closing Abilitie while Mages can spamm Sheep and Nova you the whole Time its absolutly unbalance and everyone knows it...
@@Herogames2022 Bro Forstmage never had a patch in wow's history where they couldn't reliably beat every war spec, which is expected by the nature of their kits interacting. That being said, wrath was about as far away as can be when it comes to an equal matchup for war, even with all the new fancy stuff. There is no shot you'd even damage a frostmage with full 3.3.5 bis (or any patch for that matter) before painfully dying.
I played warrior during classic on a pvp server and would regularly engage against frost mages. Most of the time I lost but the wins felt so good. Rocket boots, charge helm, trinkets, pots, grenades- you have to bring everything to the table to stand a chance against frost mage as warrior.
He picked a warrior so it's all his fault. He knre he was going to go up against a mage and still picked a warrior. He needs to learn how to play another class.
Unlucky matchup for soni, wouldve loved to See him against snutz. Only way to win against mage is either insane rng or blatant incompetence on the mages part. But Ziqo obv being one of the best to ever to it, there was absolutely zero chance to win this one. Unfortunate end to an extremely impressive run in the tourney
@@LAKXx an extremely unlikely chain of resists resulting in the mage being unable to gain distance, plus enough crit rng for the warrior to close the Deal or force way more defensives from the mage than he usually would need.
I was an OG mage in vanilla in a world first guild and even against the best warriors I barely had to try. It’s very unfair for melee against a top tier mage, impossible. Then, by contrast it was impossible to best an equally geared lock , it’s not happening even with max luck and RNG. I think OTK will learn a huge amount from this tourney and figure out a way to be more balanced and give melee a more level playing field going forward. I never thought I’d live to see the day where OTK and Blizzard partnered but here we are and this very well might save the WoW community as a whole and breathe new life into the fanbase as for what will inevitably be a WoW 2.0 in the future. Great job to you guys . Extremely well done and very impressive all around :) Cheers to a great tourney and what the future holds for OTK & Blizzard!
@@라마현명한 the warrior doesn't have a choice but to do his moves on the chess board optimally, if not he's a laughing stock like he was vs ziqo. Ziqo used a few sleeping dusts and was far from using a 2nd iceblock.
There has to be a field with LOS. It’s so dumb to fight in an open field, of course mage and lock have a huge advantage then. Fight in Goldshire or a small town, way better opportunity for melee. Was so obvious Snutz was going to win it all. Lock is far superior to every class, especially with SL. Get LOS!
They are horde, how would they fight there LoS is also advantageous to many classes depending on the matchup, especially with them using full consumables, Some matches would almost never end too. Also doing it in a public area means any randoms can just run around and annoy the players, try to grief where the rogues are etc.

I beat many mages with my warrior back then. It was almost an easy matchup to me, especially after getting good gear. But it's mostly because people back then didn't know all the crazy tricks about their class or were just "noobs". Also a way smaller percentage of mages was frost skilled.
This is part of a game, this is part of the bracket. Its a rock paper scissors system, and it leads where it leads. Ziqo was lucky not fighting a WL or Dudu, Snutz was lycky not fighting a Warrior and this goes on and on. it creates its own dynamic. there is absolutely nothing which you have to balance arround. The outcome of the tourney could be way diffrent if the bracket was diffrent. With that beeing said of course a strong class (WL or Mage) in hands of a pro player will have a chance to turn things arround. Ok WL are in general i little bit OP :)
Warlocks are not a little OP. They are definition OP. And let’s be real, the tournament was gonna end up with a warlock or a frost mage winning. This is classic wow and that’s the most unbalanced it has ever been pvp wise. The tournament was entertaining from the quality of production and effort, the big names and personalities involved, the ramp up of leveling and gearing and prepping stand point. But it was never gonna be surprising with the results. What a shame
Yes i see it. I was kinda surprised how the flask / buffs changed the game a little for Rogues for the bad and warriors for the good. I was hoping that Warriors take down the WLs but the Problem is, how they play the game. Dot and run. A dudu would probably take out the frost mages. They cant reset

Double sleep dust and ingi helmet is the lamest shit ontop of that matchup.. Ziqo wouldnt have needed it but played it the safe way to secure the win nomatterwhat. Not a beauty to watch but thats not what it was about :D gz to both anyway :)
A warrior's problem has never been damage. Any rogue or mage knows to kite a warrior because if they touch you, you die, same as in a BG. Honestly I think they could tune down the warrior's damage a little bit (It's a bit lame seeing only warriors at the top of PVE) But give them something like the wotlk talent Juggernaut (Which makes their charge usable in combat) so they don't just have to trade intercept for blink every time
Back in 2006 or something they showed a mage use only r1 frostbolt vs a warrior. It just doesn't add up to pick a warrior unless you have a geared warrior. Nax Warr vs mage would be something more entertaining to watch.
Ziqo used items that should have been disabled vs warrior. Shame on him to use these things playing a frostmage. And the guy saying only ziqo could win this is a joke. Sometimes class > player, and a lot of mages could have won this.
The warrior is lacking some crowd control. There are some good quest items from low level areas that give you aome cc, also there are grenades, tidal charm, helm from Uldaman and others. The warrior used just 1 nade and 1 helmet charge. He could have done more. Sad to see him die to a guy thats just running around.

With no Pillars to LOS this Matchup seems impossible for the warrior. Especially since the mage has such great gear.

Snutz did fight an UD warrior who was similarly geared to Soniii. But Snutz had no issue to win that fight.
I hope this duel can do some change for warrior, at least let warriors trinket can remove polymorph.

Sleep dust is an absolute disaster in pvp. One more time without it plz.
