My guess is that they think he'll turn it over more often, and that they aren't willing to take a slight increase in in downfield production at the expense of turnovers and sacks. Nelson throws a better looking ball, but something I noticed (and I understand he also had backup receivers so it isn't a 1-to-1 comparison) during Portland State is that he has a much slower release. I honestly think it was what the coaches favored about MM vs. Taylen as well. If he could get his release up there, then it feels obvious he'd supplant him.
How many times has the punter had to come out because Madsen couldn't complete his passes? Basically consider that a turnover......if he isn't getting us in scoring range more with his passing than he does depending entirely on Jeanty then he isn't worth starting.
@@bryanpbrowning8620if you see I that way then you have to give BSU defense credit for a TO every time the other team punts. You willing to give the defense that much credit?
To be fair, Madsen SHOULD have multiple interceptions on the year. DBs have dropped a few, and he consistently throws into double coverage and just hasn’t been punished yet. He’s not a good QB.
I have heard there are schools retaining players that are draft eligible and 1st and 2nd rounders by crowd funding of sorts. They are getting Fans together and putting a deal pen to paper. Can we raise a million and get Jeanty to stay. Raise 2 million? I would donate for sure.
We need a QB that manages a game and like you said we don't need one that throws 300 yrds a game. Madsen didn't lose us the game against Oregon. Our special teams did.
Prater says no group of 5 running backs will make it. So you might as well say Ashton isn’t special🤷🏼. There hasn’t been a running back like him in a G5 school. Prater the hater
I would not be happy with him "making it" it's a crime if he keeps pace and doesn't win it. All Credibility would be lost for the Heisman for all time if Jeanty keeps pace and doesn't win it. It would be egregious and wrong. He is leading all purpose, rushing, yards per carry and highlight leader along with doing things that no running back for 34 years has done.
If Jeanty goes down from injury we are done. Because we didn't develope the right QB. Focused on all madsen. And if we are losing Madsen couldnt engineer a comeback. His passing is horrible. This decision will come back to haunt us. Putting all our trust in Jeanty to carry 98% of the workload is ludicrous. Its a gamble that so far is paying off. But seriously that all ends if Jeanty gets hurt
Im so sick of people making excuses for Maddux Madsen. There is absolutely no truth in what they say. He isn't Kellen Moore. Look at what Kellen did and Kellen also had elite RBs . So im thoroughly disgusted and sick of hearing how Madsen is our new Kellen Moore. Madsen is absolute garbage as a QB. Without Jeanty or Sire Gaines or our outstanding RBS Madsen couldn't put together a scoring drive to save his f-ing life. Thats reality. Thats an absolute fair assessment of how good Madsen is. Stop deluding yourselves with that fake positive spin on the starting QB for Boise State.
Ashton Jeanty for Mayor!
The way they are playing mad dog, what’s the difference between him and Malachi? What’s mad dog doing that Malachi can’t?

All we need is the defense to play like it did, get the TE’s involved like they did, and the offensive line to bully people.
Madsen doesn’t turn the ball over and he doesn’t take sacks. So no negative plays. This keeps Jeanty and the running game (the real focus) on track.

@@tjbingman7871 are you unable to follow the point? Nobody is talking about Boise States defense. We're talking about Boise's 💩 starting QB.
Maddux isn’t 3-1!! Ashton is 3-1 !!!!
Madsen is 1-3 w/out Jeanty

The whole reason Maddux got the job was because his high completion %.
High completion %? Are we still talking about Madsen at that point cuz his completion % is 🗑️
@@bryanpbrowning8620 that’s what the coaches said as to why they chose him over Malachi. It’s bs madsen is bad
