  • Well, you love your realistic Planet Coaster parks, so let's do another one. Welcome to ChachoLandia: A cross between Cedar Point, Thorpe Park, Dorney Park, Carowinds and Energylandia. Opened by Cedar Fair in the UK in 2015, we are building with a bigger budget!
    This week, we add yet another coaster to the park (yes, we are running out of coasters to build!) - This time a GCI wooden Coaster similar to WickerMan, Invadr and Mystic Timbers.
    Using realism I’ve learnt from my experience of working for a real-life theme park company and over 4000 hours of Planet Coaster play time. Using true-to-life principles, we walk through each stage of the build reasons why things are built in a certain way- as well as some top tips on how these were achieved too by pulling them apart for you to see. As the project progresses, I’ll release the park for you to enjoy, so please make sure you Subscribe to stay in touch!
    What if Cedar Fair opened a park in the UK? Would it look like Alton Towers? Thorpe Park? Or would it take on the form of more American parks like Cedar Point? Canada's Wonderland? Or would it be more themed like DollyWood, Legoland, Busch Gardens or SeaWorld? Oh, and don't forget Six Flags too! What about China? I hear Flying Kiss theme park in China is a good one too! Well, one thing is for sure, realistic Planet Coaster parks don't come much more realistic than this and let's be honest, other Planet Coaster Let's Play or Planet Coaster gameplay videos won't give you the real reasons why things are as they are. Where do you place rides, rollercoasters, shops, paths, plazas, car parks, entrance areas, tickets, turnstiles, maintenance sheds and so on? I'll tell you where as we up the Planet Coaster Realism game! This is more than just a Planet Coaster Tutorial; this is a Planet Coaster best park ever!' Just so you know, my realistic series uses Planet Coaster Sandbox. It's time to get Planet Coaster real! Episodes with rollercoasters also have rollercoaster povs too. Don't worry if you're stuck for Planet Coaster Entrance Ideas - this episode will sort you out. This is how to start a park. AND if you like the build styles of Themepark worldwide, bro nation, silvarret, maskedbandit, mike sheet, deladysigner and rudi rudikmental then you might just like this! We have very similar planet coaster building style. I wish I'd get noticed by Mr Beast haha

    The whole area looks SO good! Very impressive!
    And as always very educational. I've been wondering for years why some wooden coasters have extra wooden beams ontop of the track (fully "enclosed" or those two strips). Now I finally know why :)

    Great to see you've gotten better, and very well done on the Western area! Tombstone in particular looks gorgeous with the custom supports, layout and station building; and I really love how you paid homage to the "Boot Hill Cemetery" idea with the sign and surrounding theme!

      Glad that you liked it! It was too late to do the church idea - the station was already built :( But I loved the back story you gave your idea, so it seemed only right to bring as much of that into it as I could... so thanks for the suggestion!

    Fantastic work as always. Glad you are feeling better post vaccine. I’m always super impressed by the vistas and sight lines that you create and this was no exception. I swear you should be teaching some real theme parks how it’s supposed to work!

    • @Nerdchacho

      It's funny you say that........ some-one at worked asked about the possibility of me laying out something in Planco that would end up in real life the other day, but I'm not allowed to use my own PC to do it.... That's all I can say on the matter...

    • @NowThatsJustGay
      @NowThatsJustGay 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nerdchacho oh wow! That’s pretty amazing actually and a cool opportunity. Hope it works out. I was always more interested (and wanted a career in) the theming/storytelling aspect of theme park design rather than the rides themselves which is why I think I enjoy your work so much. Everything is very consistently considered in terms of the style, the placement, the sight lines etc. You always tell the ‘story’ really well whilst also being so realistic about what a theme park would actually do. That’s a very fine balance that not many can achieve.

  • @matt64allison

    Funnily enough I was thinking you haven’t done a GCI yet & one would work perfectly in this park. I can’t wait, GCIs can be difficult to create a good layout so it’s good to see how you do them

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      GCI's are actually relatively easy if you understand how to do Mack coasters. They share a very similar shaping profile - low to the ground, highly banked, swoopy turns, lots of quick airtime hills...

    The details on this are incredible! Great job. I need to start thinking about adding ADA access to my current project like you did with the elevator. Also random thought but have you ever considered adding area drains, catch basins, and manholes to the pathways for storm, sewer, and other utilities? Maybe I’m digging too much into the details and this is not needed lol 😅

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ADA is such a minefield here in the UK.. We have a principle of "every attraction should be accessible to every guest, even if it is not practical"... But.. Allowing wheelchair access on inverted coasters is next to impossible because of the ride design etc. Then there are sub-laws about partial mobility and how many steps should be in a stairway and that you should either have a refuge point or the preferred refuge and minimum 30 degree turn every 16 steps (to stop people who fall down the stairs continuing to fall, so that the most they should ever fall is 16 steps). It goes into so much more depth than this.. Our PlanCo parks are literal death-traps when compared to UK rules! :D

    Would it be possible to post the stats of the ride that the game gives out (Excitement, nausea etc.)? Be interested to see how the game is ranking a realistic roller coaster.
    When I build (in my opinion) realistic rides, the game often under- or overvalues the stats, which make it seem like a bad build.

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course, I'll add it into the Extras Episode. You're right. The game is very much skewed in favour of air-time and doesn't recognise that sitting on the break-run at the end of a circuit means that the ride is over and should stop calculating.. it continues from station start to stop..

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  3 ปีที่แล้ว
