My first car was a '71 Comet, I've always has a thing for these cars. This one is seriously one of the nicest ones I've seen! Love the color combo, the stance, the wheels, and it's hella fast with Ford power & manual trans!
I loved my Mavericks. They aren't really stable when horsepower gets boosted. It can get away from you easily. That chassis wasn't built for speed, handling, or braking. This is truly a Dream Car! I love the powertrain and I think that you did some of the most tasteful body mods for a Maverick I've ever seen. It's a gorgeous car!
Ive ridden in kendalls maverick, that car on an auto was frickin nasty, i cant wait to get a ride in it on a manual. The build is done right and its clean. Loads of respect to austin for the awasome videos, especially when it comes to his dads car.
You guys really hit on something most people don't realize. There's a point where you can have too much power on the street where you can't enjoy it. Not to mention you're doing triple digits in a matter of seconds. One bad cop and you're racing days are over. I remember reading about that viral video of that old man speed shifting his mustang, saying "get some biches". He got caught up in being faster too. Got his mustang into the 9's. He just wasn't enjoying it, so he detuned it where it ran 12's. Said he loved it so much more.
My uncle back in the 80’s put a 390 in one of these. Scary fast with stock suspension and was barely drivable. This is a real quality build with a lot of solid engineering.
My Mom had a green Maverick with a 3tree striaght 6. I remember we went from Minn. to Vancouver in it.(and back) She would draft big rigs up hills to keep it from over heating. Great kid memories.
It warms my heart to see this. I lost my dad just under 10 years ago. One of the cars he had at the end was a maverick. I didn't know much about it. My sister ended up getting it and i think it's just sitting in her backyard...
I learned to drive stick on a 3 on the tree 75 Maverick. Dad later converted to the floor 250 straight six. I blew the doors off Porsches in downtown Omaha. Was a fun car.
Had a ‘73 Maverick auto with the 302. Keep it 13 years and 155,000 miles. Drove it daily even in the big snows. Rust became a problem.original engine and transmission.
TH-cam just added this vid to my feed b/c I've been searching coyote swap content. Very good video, loved the story, and my Grandmother had a Comet when i was in elementary school. Subscribed!
Awesome car guys. We were Mopar and GM mostly in my family, I'm all Mopar myself. But my mom replaced her 66 Dart with a 72 Mercury Comet 302 Shaker when I was a kid. It had slots on it. All three of my classic Mopars are sticks. Converting my 72 Duster to a TKX soon.
Many years ago Hot Rod Magazine had a series of hand drawn car designs, by readers if I recall, but someone did a what-if using typical Shelby design details on a Maverick as if Ford did one similar to a GT350 and though I always liked Mavericks, I never stopped thinking about that design. Awesome car
This car is bad to the bone. From the wheels to the paint. OMG what a sick mf build. Coyote's are making a big wave in the hotrod world. I have always loved Mavricks. I guy around my town had a black one with weld racing wheels big cowl hood and a wicked built 5.0 with a 5 speed. I will never forget that car
just found you guys for the first time as i love old mavericks and was searching...... i track (sports car stuff) a 66 mustang (wanted to build a fairlane wagon or a maverick but never found the donor) with a 500rwhp windsor that is a street car with A/C and P/S and a trailer hitch. the current build on my car started 15 years ago so it has a tremec TKX. 68K miles and well over 10K track miles on it. if you changed from the drag race setup to a road race setup the driving experience changes dramatically. it will make a heroine addiction seem like a mild craving for something salty....
Great Day !!!!! what a build ...... Kudos to this Mav !!! I sure miss my 72 Grabber ... wish I'd never sold it ... this car is scary fast ... !!!! Great Job Guy's..
What an awesome video. I'm glad that my algorithm finally sent me somewhere that works for me. Lol. It's great to see father and son doing this together and especially since Pops seems to have at least embraced the social media aspect of it to some degree. Great work guys. Keep it up. New follower.
I love the new setup awesome car Ford power forever baby a real Chevy and dodge killer the best never rest they just keep getting better has a Ford blu by you later great video as always l loved it keep on bringing it
When I was 20 yrs old I bought a 70 maverick off a used car lot for $800. It had been garage kept and was clean clean. Had a inline 6 cylinder and got about 35 miles to the gallon if not better on some days. I was working at a grocery store before life started with a wife and kids. I had to let the car go for what I owed on it which was around $600 owed at the bank. Lol. The guy that bought it was playing around on a back road one day and flipped it over on the top and collapsed the rooftop amongst side panels and hood. If I only knew what I know now, I wouldn't have never sold it. The price for project cars these days is absolutely ridiculous.
This is a very cool build, good job! Always loved the mavericks even tho i wasnt into fords inmy younger days. The way this car sits, the tire combo, and the three pedal setup is just spot on. I wanted set up my 40 ford coupe with the same wheel setup, but didnt get the chance. Enjoy it to its fullest.
I'm not even a ford guy but I love the mavericks. Doesnt have to b a high dollar coyote motor either a nice 351 or 302 would do and theyre great drag cars
I grew up with muscle cars and old engines. But my money is on eficiency, power, weight, and parts availability. Coyote, LS/LT is the way to go. These engines today make you want to keep on driving and not just keep it under a cover.
Don’t worry youngster. Dad knows what he’s doing. I drag raced snowmobile’s in the 70s. I’m used to flying around the place and your dad probably ain’t worried about going fast
I had a 70 also. We put a 428 SCJ in it with a straight front axle out of a Ford pickup and a rear-end out of a 66 Mustang. Those were the good Ole days.
You and your dad are awesome y'all just give me a new life when I watch that just now that is just bad to the bone and that's all there is to say about that.. all I can say is that beast is treacherous I'm loving it... Your friend in southern Geronimo,Oklahoma Kenny Wayne Henson
100% going speed limit ???😂 dude you over the speed limit by the time you hit second gear in that thing😂 bad ass mav!!! always loved them my dad had 2 of them when i was growing up 70 was my favorite. he had a grabbler to come with the factory high preformance 289 it would fly car was factory geared so good to
Always liked the maverick. A buddy of mine had one in high school when they first came out. His had a 302 in it. Automatic though. I’m with the owner of this car. Must have a manual transmission period.
Nice ride i remember my cousin's old maverick. We use to laugh at it. This one ain't no joke or to be played with. Also driving a fast stick shift car can be fun. To bad young folks probably don't know what that extra pedal is ...lol
My first car was a '72 Maverick, back in 1984. Goldenrod Yellow with that black vinyl roof! It had the straight 6 and was a turd, but it beat walking. I often thought about making it a Grabber, but ended up getting an older Mustang instead.
Always loved the Maverick, reminds me a lot of the Chevy Nova from 68 through the mid 70s. I like those even more than Gen 1 Camaros. Not sure about the Coyote. Think I’d prefer a FE /FT 391 cross bolted and bored and stroked to 468. Topped with a set of new aluminum Tunnel Port heads and intake being made. Or if I used a crate engine and wanted something a little milder a lightly modded Godzilla would be a good choice. No Criticisms about your car though. I like it a lot.
Habe a 66 merc comet with a 68. 5.0 out of a 68. Cougar,, fmx trans// 69 cougar elimanator 5.8 windsor,, // and a 70 torino gt 428 scj twister// still have the 66& the 70 torino but im in the middle of testoring a 67 rag mercury with a 5.8 stroker427 for a friend hes 77, im 76 so long live Ice( llI) he has an eye sight issue so ill have to buy it from him.....!
I had a full race c4 in my little mach 1. I shredded it twice. Blew the car back apart and went eith a tremec TKX. LOVE IT! Man. You wont regret it. Save yourself all the extra work. Lol
If he didn't let the engine come down and just shifted it A it would take off sideways into the woods or B it would tear the rear-end out of it ! Or C All of the above! Either way no its just got way way way too much power for all that Close ratio gearing no lift shifting . That thing is just n animal
What a nice clean cool looking 70 Maverick with a power house Coyote engine . Father ,son team ,you got to love it.
How awesome! These body styles don't get enough love...
Always thought they should be way more populer than they are. Look better than the Mustangs of that time.
My first car was a '71 Comet, I've always has a thing for these cars. This one is seriously one of the nicest ones I've seen! Love the color combo, the stance, the wheels, and it's hella fast with Ford power & manual trans!
the extra speed from an auto never touches the satisfaction you get from a stick shift
Damn right!! I always prefer to have that shift, especially when you’re bang on the powerband!!
Those front wheels have been my favorite design for decades. Beautiful car 100%. Thanks.
What a cool car.
Ford coyote are simply awesome!!!
Motors!! With boost even better!!
I drive a manual, mustang gt. Daily.
Love shifting my self.
I absolutely love it. My dad had a 70 and A71 adult day. Bose, we're awesome, good old days.
Ive ridden in kendalls maverick, that car on an auto was frickin nasty, i cant wait to get a ride in it on a manual. The build is done right and its clean.

Absolutely the baddest most beautiful Maverick ever!! So sweet!! almost got that Eleanor look Good stuff!!
Perfect build on the cleanest Maverick . Nice job on the video .
Those Mavericks are really growing on me and that's such a clean car. Really nice build.
My Mom had a green Maverick with a 3tree striaght 6. I remember we went from Minn. to Vancouver in it.(and back) She would draft big rigs up hills to keep it from over heating. Great kid memories.

Get the car. Fix it so u could daily it. Remember your dad !!!
I had a '71 Grabber. Yellow with red and black interior. I loved that car.
I learned to drive stick on a 3 on the tree 75 Maverick. Dad later converted to the floor 250 straight six. I blew the doors off Porsches in downtown Omaha. Was a fun car.
Hell yeah!!!
Stick shifts are the best
My Accord has the V6 6 Speed😊😊😊
Very nice beautiful Maverick! One of my favorite body styles!!
Awesome mav! 3 pedals or nothing for me too, shifting is so much more excitement.
Had a ‘73 Maverick auto with the 302. Keep it 13 years and 155,000 miles. Drove it daily even in the big snows. Rust became a problem.original engine and transmission.

I had a 1972 Ford Maverick back when I was in high school in 1978 I loved that car had a 6 cylinder in it was a fun car to drive
My cousin 35 years ago had a maverick GT with a 302 v8 and a top loader four speed and 410 gears in the rear, and it scooted!
That so cool your pops take you out a Maverick to class of your own stay safe .
A beautiful build with power to boot - WTG Kendall and son. Glad I found the channel.
Thats a really nice car. Excellent build. Stay safe.
Awesome car guys.

My brother in law used to have a ‘72 Maverick. It DID NOT look like this. Awesome car! Thanks for posting!

Your son is right. Safety first. Great build.
Just what a Maverick needed. Woo! -🇺🇸

Great car love Mavericks one of the first cars I drove when I got my drivers license 😊
The vinyl top was a really nice touch on that car. Thumbs up.
Always liked the maverick. A buddy of mine had one in high school when they first came out. His had a 302 in it. Automatic though. I’m with the owner of this car. Must have a manual transmission period.
Bad ass car!!!! Love the stance, old school pro street look.

Watching on the Big Screen and shared it with The Boys in Brazil (Maverick Club) 😇
That is 1 Fine looking Maverick !
You sir are a lucky guy.
I remember growing up around a white, with orange accent grabber.
Always liked that car...then it disappeared lol.

You wont regret it. Save yourself all the extra work. Lol
Wish I had my 68 cougar Dan Gurney back it had some kind of 302 for some reason didn't have posi traction burn out one tire easy
I love mavericks! Great build!
Your Dad did a great job with the car! You guys should look into a WOT BOX for no lift shifts.
If he didn't let the engine come down and just shifted it A it would take off sideways into the woods or
B it would tear the rear-end out of it ! Or
C All of the above!
Either way no its just got way way way too much power for all that Close ratio gearing no lift shifting . That thing is just n animal
Love it!
I'm with you with the stick shifts and manual shifting... For me an automatic in a let's say Mustang is pure sacrilege...
Love your car 👍
That thing sounds Nasty!! Great Build 👍
Siiiick always loved the look of them Mavericks great body lines
