This is one of my favourite stoves when going out for a couple of nights. I also purchased Evernew’s fuel bottles which is also light weight and easy to use so you can’t overfill. I bought directly from them and paid half the price.
Hey have you tried the simmer ring for the Goshawk ERA? Looks like a great way to control the flame and help with actually cooking and not just boiling water as fast as possible
Thanks for pointing out the safety aspect big E. Safety first especially when people could be out in the backwoods and start ANOTHER forest fire. That’s absolutely the last thing we need. That being said - I like that it’s different. I like that it’s light. I can see it being useful in some situations, but I do think it’s overpriced.
Thanks, Ernie, for the great review. I can’t believe that little stove cost that much. I was curious if the tray connected to the top of the stove or are they both separate.
Thanks Dr. Ernie for the video evaluation of this stove. Yeah it is cool, but for the price, the value is just not there. If you are going for fuel economy, then maybe a Cogen Stove with Caldera Cone from Trail Designs.
This IS EXACTLY proof of what I’ve been saying for yrs now…stoves and such have been so over done in recent yrs whether alcohol, remote canister stoves, canister stoves…all of em…can’t go any further w them! So now all the companies go smaller and lighter cause there really isn’t much you can do w design that hasn’t been done already..:so…the more ridiculous and completely useless things get instead of practical and functional! Leave things alone and go w the old school stuff and be way better off! Lol
They say don’t over fill the burner. They suggest how to get the best from the burner. They don’t claim it to be for anyone unable to follow the instructions, seems to be the takeaway. Other than that, it’s for boiling water, probably for tea etc. but not a cooking stove. Minimalist seems to be their mantra for this design.
I made my own micro alcohol burner out of one of those small energy drink cans about the size of this thing but a fraction of the cost - FREE except for my labor it looks DANGEROUS! think I'll pass - $64 - YIKES!
Imo I think they are really focused to a super small group of people idk. It seems really dangerous like you showed and that is something I always stay away from being in the sw lol.
This feels like such an odd flex for a Japanese manufacturer. "We can build the lightest (?) alcohol stove on the market, with precision flame jets!" (Pay no attention to the rather glaring fire hazard) And now that it's on the market, a Chinese manufacturer will laugh and make a $12 version with the jets positioned higher. Five star review on Amazon in Japanese: "I love this stove, but you have to measure *EXACTLY* 15 mL of fuel every time you want to use it, the burn time is so short, and the low mass is nice until you notice that with less mass comes less stability (law of inertia). I feel like the ways I can use this stove are incredibly limited." Another says, "You will definitely need a wind screen for this one."
Very cool stove for a solo hiker. But the cost is too high. I’d buy one as I am sucker for stoves, and Evernew… but I have the White Box Stove which this seems a ripoff of.
No thank you! The person coming up with their pricing reminds me of an ole Southern saying, "they are not-right-bright." Again for their cost one can purchase a Trangia Mini and have money left over. For its price and the chance of overfilling along with the catastrophe which could occur, I will remain with the Trangia. Seeing the spirting liquid become flames, folks will understand the reason many locations ban alcohol stoves.
How was a tiny, crappy stove twice the price of their excellent performing titanium one??? It would be nice if they made a lid and simmer ring for the titanium one instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with a second stove
Current Amazon listing has it for $60 and claims it's made of Titanium. I don't trust the info provided by Amazon and quite honestly, I only see ONE use for this item....a fire starter for a Campfire. Tinderless tinder?? This item shouldn't even be allowed to be sold. A disaster just waiting to happen!! That's a big 👎 for me!!
Not interested, c’mon Evernew you can do better than that. I’ll stick with my Evernew Titanium or Trangia burner in the Zen stove stand with the Fire Maple XT1 .8L kettle. If the wind is over 10 mph it’s my MSR Windburner which I’ve used with no problems in 30 mph wind. If it’s windier than that I don’t want to be out there anyway.
When you said the price I nearly dropped my phone. That's absolutely insane 🤯
You'd think the price would be lower, the exchange rate has never been this good for USD for a very long time. (just north of $60 on Amazon)

64 dollars hahaha 😂😅 Fancy feast stove still Undefeated 😅😊
I built a stove like that from a heavy wall aluminum spray battle. Cost about 45 minutes to make.
Have you tried the pillbottle stove?
My vargo decagon would do the same thing when over filled. A few home made ones too.

HOW MUCH😮
That is insane.
Saw you coming.
I'll stick with my speedster acahol stove which cost £4 .

$64? That's crazy!
Thanks for the great review.

Give me a Trangia any day, tried and true
If it was made of titanium maybe that price would make sense but not for aluminum that looks like it came from a pop can.
Good review thanks for sharing YAH bless !
$64 ?!?!?!? No way!
It's a smaller version of the Whitebox stove for WAY more money!
Looking at the manufacturers ad it appears to be made of titanium with an aluminum color
Price ways no way. Someone hit their head on that one. Still hard to beat the good old stand by with the simmer ring.
My vote still goes to Goshawk for alcohol stove innovation these days.
Fancy Feast stove rules
That there SIR, is a POS knock-off of the "RUCAS HD"!!! 😂
White Box Stove*

That price... Ouch!

For the size? Small V8 can stove.
Pop can lid and a jelly jar lid!?!?!😂

Good info.
For that price they are milking sheep.
It’s a bomb!😂
I'm a fire starter, twisted fire starter. 🤣, bit pricey.

9,690.75 Japanese Yen!😂😂😂
That's crazy for 1/2 ounce aluminum shot cup that spits fire.
If it was much much cheaper, it would be great for a canteen kit...but not for that price
I think the Toaks burner is better.

A definite “no!”
a NO-go for me, and for this price? c'mon
Price is CRAZY HIGH!!! It holds too small amount of fuel... even if they double the size at this price it would be CRAZY!!!
It's already down to $55. Still way too high.
It’s great for a survival or military situation, but soooo expensive for what it is. I won;t be buying it. Thanks for the vid.

Cost, outrageous. This seems like a premature April fool gag.
Nope, not for me that's for sure. $70.00, LOL nope!
$70 for a cup is retarded.
Doctor bomb 💣 maker! lol

Please don't wear those shoes against when making videos 😂
There is no way I would pay almost $70 for that. Hard pass.
Pass. Not for $70.00
@PaIeoHikerMD you're not the doc. Fake news!
sqeek sqeek
Hahahahhaa…$70 is absurd to even have the unthinkable nerve to ask that much for that piece of junk! Wow!!
No good can be dangerous to pricey pass on this one
Pricy junk
