  • It’s a stressful time, full of worry and uncertainty.
    And apart from making sure we wash our hands, practice social distancing, and take care of our neighbors, there’s still so much beyond our personal control.
    In the middle of all this uncertainty, it’s tempting to focus on the few things we can control no matter how futile - like buying even more toilet paper.
    Kelly McGonigal, PhD once shared a 3-step approach for working with uncertainty that I wanted to give to you.
    Now I want to mention, this was recorded before any of us knew anything about the recent pandemic. In fact, Kelly is talking about a totally different, though just as desperate situation.
    But I think the lesson still applies.

    2. Give permission to the feelings they are avoiding
    3. Shift focus from control to choice
