I like it when you are mad-ish about things that are off! Love your humour! BTW, I've never come across the yarn with instructions on inside!!! Wtheck is that???
Thanks for this review. I absolutely hate it when the care institutions are on the inside. 🤪 I just pass it by. Another thing I hate is when there is a picture of something on the label and they say the pattern is on the inside. How in the heck are you supposed to know how much yarn to buy!🤪 Have a great day 🙏🏻🤗💖
I wonder if it blooms or if the weight really is that off. By cotton yardage it’s a heavy fingering to light sport by yardage alone. Will still like to see it in person.
@@AffordablyCrafty would def be more accessible that way. not everyone has phones they can use to look that stuff up! I just think it's disingenuous to say the care instructions aren't on the outside at all because that's not true.
I looked at the yarnspirations website and they maintain that it's a size 3 and recommend garment use... So MAYBE it will bloom a LOT with washing. Maybe that's why they recommend a 4mm hook? To give the yarn room to grow? 🐞
Looks like it would make a nice lacy top or a table runner. I like the idea of a smaller hook, and using something like a honeycomb Tunisian stitch for a clutch. Nice! 😊
You tell them Kim, I'm with you Kim, if you don't want the store displays destroyed with us trying to find a yarn that meets our laundry needs, THEN PUT THE LAUNDRY DIRECTIONS ON THE OUTSIDE WHERE WE CAN READ THEM PRIOR TO PURCHASE!!!!!!!
Wow, that oatmeal "Cauliflower " cotton/linen yarn is THIN! You are right that it would need lining for a bag unless crocheting a cover for a pre-made bag. The stitch definition is pretty great; might be better for doilies, placemats, coasters, etc. You 5/10 rating seems spot on 👏. Thank you for sharing this review 🥰
It's a #3 only if it plumps when you wash it. 😂🤣 It may be a nice yarn but I generally stay away from linen. The color should be called cauliflower turning. 😂 Thank you for your review!
Thanks for the review. I certainly wouldn't pay that price for no more yard then you're getting especially since it's a one weight! It sounds like it's dragging on your hook.
I personally would hold a #1 weight merino with that and use a #6-8 US knitting needle treating it as a #3 . That is a blend I purchased from a LYS for a light weight summer shawl last year A treat for my birthday ! I'm not fast but like to feel a soft yarn fabric forming
It does not look like a lace weight yarn. The list weight of 275 yards fir 199 grams sounds like a DK weight yarn. I would weight it to see if the 100 grams is accurate. Always good to weight your yarn.
I’m making a shawl out of it for my sister and I find it catches a lot on the hook- it doesn’t split- but it was hard to get a rhythm going while crocheting. (Using 4mm). I’ll see if it softens and blooms once I wash it.
@@tmtb80 My sister took it home immediately after I crocheted the last stitch! (We were at a family event-I crochet everywhere I go! Lol) So I didn’t get to prewash it for her. I gave her the washing instructions. I’ll have to ask her how it is working out for her. She is bringing it on her beach vacation in August. 🥰 I’ll update you when I find out more!
Thanks for another great review.

Thank you for your honest yarn review! And I love your tea cup with the cats on it!! 🫖

Thank you for sharing the review. I had thought of a few ideas IF it was 3wt
Glad I could help
the care instructions *are* on the outside. they're the icons to the right of the hook and needle size recommendation
I did see that, but i don’t have then memorized. I believe it should be written on the outside of the skein

Yeah this yarn BLOOMS...and I mean BLOOMS like all linen yarns I've come across. I do NOT suggest treating it like a 1.

Ohhhh 😲😮 kimmmmm. You are calling to my inner linen lover! It is my favorite plant based yarn

🙄 yes ridiculous
I agree…why put the care instructions inside of the label??!! I want to know if it’s hand washing only to know if I want to buy the yarn. SMH!

I wonder whether it blooms when you wash it - bringing it up to a 2 or 3 ish?

Great idea Tribly
Do you think it might work well for a summer hat? I usually use Drops Bomull Lin.
Yes i would think so
Hoping you will wash a small swatch and let us know if it becomes soft enough for a summer top or other thing next to skin
It is 100%. Just don't try to treat it like a 1 weight. This yarn BLOOMS and if you use a smaller hook it's gonna be stiff and yucky.

How did your shawl turn out? Did it bloom? How did you wash it?

@@bluebutterfly320 She must have really liked it! Congrats!
Wow, not much yardage for a one weight. Thanks Kim!
Anything under a true 4 weight yarn 🧶 is too difficult for me to see while stitching. I like your color choice Bruised Cauliflower.
Another pass for me--way to thin. 5/10 seems fair. Gracias Tribute!
You are welcome!
#1 is lace wt, and this is much heavier than lace wt. so looks like #2 wt. I always feel yarn is weighted 1 heavier than they are.
