Glad to see Rode jumping into this space. I don't see enough to replace my Hollyland Lark M2 with the smaller mics, but this should be a hit at this price point.
I reviewed this Wireless mic set earlier today and I must say that I am super impressed. Love how small and sleek it is. And the Audio is amazing. Great job Rode
I've been reviewing this for a week or two and the sound quality is absolutely astonishing given the size. Blows the competition clean out of the water.
It's not possible with this kit but if you need to connect a wireless microphone to the RØDECaster, any of our Series IV transmitters will do the trick (Wireless GO II, ME, PRO) 🫡
@@rodemic is it on the roadmap to bring this form factor mic to a more versatile receiver? All of the other available options are great but the massive logos on them aren't great. This transmitter is the perfect size and look that I am looking for using in wedding ceremonies.
I've now uploaded test samples of using the the Micro as a binaural stereo recording device. And it is stunning. It really does make a very flexible location recording device / field recorder. Mounted on a baseball cap (other things are possible) it is inconspicuous and gives an excellent stereo image with low noise and wide frequency response. Very suitable at gigs! Or down at the park.

These look amazing but only for smartphones? I bought Rode mics for my GoPro about 3 years ago and hated them, so sold them but these look so small, so easy, no setting up (such a bonus for an old guy like me) and would be perfect for my GoPro 10, if they are compatible?
While they are optimized for smartphones, as long as your recording device can accept external microphones via USB-C, it should work fine! I'd recommend reaching out to GoPro to confirm if this is possible with their device 🫡
@@rodemic That is too bad. Why not make a case big enough so that the windjammers fit in it, too? Those things are needed, and if there is no case for them, there is a need for an extra pouch.
Would be nice to have an opinion to buy a mixed coloured set, one of each colour for use with different clothing & situations, off camera wouldn't matter which could you used.
About time rode catch up with the industry on the compact wireless scene it's still not the most compact form factor and hopefully it's not crippled by the low spl of it's mics.
I wonder if this is just solely for phones or is there an option to use it with dslr cameras. Can a RODE SC16 be used to get it to connect to cameras? This looks really awesome! Interested in Hollyland Lark M2 and DJI mini mic. But I really would prefer a RODE.

Probably still would cos who doesn't love the latest, shiniest gadget!! 😜 On an unrelated note: it is disappointing to hear an Australian company not using Australian talent for their videos anymore.
As I understand it, the equivalent Hollyland product which also plugs into the bottom of a phone is only a mono device. If the two mics are in use for two people then the recording is mono. With this new Rode device, you can record in stereo allowing independent adjustments of the loudness of the two mics when editing. That is a key feature - if I am correct?
@rodemic Ordered! And I look forward to seeing what happens when I use it for a kind of binaural field recording setup with the mics mounted on either side of a cap near to my ears.
This kit was designed more for smartphone content creation. If you need to monitor your audio, we'd recommend using our Wireless ME dual kits so that you can connect to your recording device via USB and use the 3.5mm port on the receiver for monitoring!
While the Wireless Micro is optimized for smartphone usage, you can also connect the USB-C receiver to a computer that has a USB-C input! In general, if your device is capable of accepting an external microphone via USB-C - it should work 🫡
Can I plug the transmitter into a dongle then plug the dongle into the phone and this system still works? That would be awesome as I record video solely with my iPhone 15 Pro Max rig.

Good question! It is not compatible with the Wireless PRO and RØDECaster Pro II at this stage. We'll pass this feedback on to our team for their awareness 🙌
While direct monitoring is not possible with this kit, as long as the smartphone application is capable of using external microphones connected via USB-C or Lightning - the Wireless Micro will work!
So if I buy the microphone with the lightning connection and later I upgrade to an iphone with usb c I will have to buy the same product again just for the type c plug? DJI offers both connections in the microphones. That’s a big fail from your part.
Just got my mic, i love the sound and the quality, but can someone tell me about the stereo sound? when i edit the video the sound comes only from 1 speaker

I use GOII Rode mics where the transmitters also record the audio as a backup or as independent audio so that you don't have to break out the receiver as well. These don't have that feature I assume since there's no mention of it. I'm not saying that's bad, but in case you don't know that. Another question unanswered is whether if the two sources of audio are recorded on their own side of a stereo track so to adjust and sweeten the audio independently and the two sources are not mixed together. Finally, Rode just insists on giving the mic transmitters a shiny surface that flashes studio and other light sources into the camera, and also insists on their branding to be seen on the mics. As much as I like my jRode GOII mics with internal backup recording within the mic's, I hate the branding and the reflective flashing. Still, I buy Rode anyway. I just wait for products where the transmitters (mics) record the audio as backup or later independent use,.
