How to replace a Toyota Tundra rear axle shaft, bearing, and seals without a shop press. This truck slid into a boulder and bent the axle shaft. Luckily there was no damage to the axle housing. This is a 2005 extended cab 4x4 with limited slip.

I was planning on changing the rear bearings on my old man's Toyota truck. After watching your video, I think I'll just take it to the shop. Too much time and work to change it. Thanks for the video!

you should never hit the inner race of a bearing like that-
you will be surprised how easy putting the bearings in the freezer for a few hours and heating the housing with a simple propane torch or heat gun will make this job.

Heating the shaft makes it expand and freezing the bearing makes in contract. You you got it backwards. The bearing gets pressed onto the shaft not into the housing.

Excellent video. Just some advice, always always make sure you are able to loosen the fill plug on the differential before opening up the drain plug. If the fill plug is rusted too bad you will end up making more work for yourself after draining the differential if you don't check the fill plug first.

Keep in mind that the inner keeper and sensor ring have to be set at a certain height so the sensor ring lines up with the sensor and the inner lock ring needs to line up with the seal. You can't just press them both all the way in. So the measurement is 4.811 inches/122.2mm from the flange outer surface(where the drum sits) to the inner lock ring inner surface. The sensor ring(reluctor)is supposed to go up against the inner lock ring. You end up with a gap between the snap ring and the sensor ring.
