- I've been working on a junk journal as part of the month-long Junk Journal January event - hosted by Meg Journals and Get Messy Art using a journal that I made from a padded mailer inspired by Thrifty Day's video: "Christmas Journal from a Padded Mailer." Me too - I was really shocked by how sturdy it was once I'd mod podged stuff onto it! And I like the way that it feels a little more substantial than other cardboard food packaging that I often feel like I have to glue layers of togehter to get something that feels hefty enough to be a cover. I've vowed not to buy new things this year - which means no Amazon for me...but thankfully my husband hasn't made that same vow ;)
I agree with you 💯 about pulling out the sewing machine, all the things and supplies needed for it, and finding room is definitely a CHORE! I love your idea to use something stitched instead!
For me the biggest challenge is the fact that my work table is a folding table...and the sewing machine makes it rock a little and then everything that's not bolted down gets to wobbling. I have an older table machine that I should set up for these kinds of projects, but its currently housing all my plants for the winter ;)

Thank you Linda - I've had fun with the prompts and just realized that there are different prompts on different sites...so I'm going to try some upcoming spreads where I try to incorporate multiple prompts. We'll see how that goes ;) Thank you for watching!

Thank you. :) I find supplies all the time at the Goodwill Outlet that are often "practically free" because they are so lite and you pay by the pound - so I find myself needing to re-home things from time to time (thus the give-away offers). I was going to do faux stitching BUT I am gonna look for some embroidery!
Yay! I love rescuing embroidery when I come across it because I know how much time and care it takes to do that kind of thing. It always makes me sad to see it tossed out...because each stitch was likely done with love for the person it was being made for. That's gotta have some good mojo associated with it, right?
