Making a Nancy Drew Junk Journal with Thrifted Materials

In this video I show off some of my vintage Nancy Drew Books (mostly thrifted) and do a walkthrough of my new Nancy Drew Junk Journal - along with some "behind the scenes" clips that show the process of making the journal. For this project I created a set of printable images using image-editing software on my iPad and photos I snapped of various books that I have. I turned those images into stickers that I used to decorate my journal...I was also really excited about the peek-a-boo page that I created.

It's fun to watch how you use the different techniques on the pages, making each one unique. I'm sad to say I'm 68 and have never read a Nancy Drew book. Thanks for sharing!

Admittedly, Nancy Drew stories aren't great literature, but they are an easy read and usually entertaining. I was happy to get this project done enough to finally share out...it was my first altered book junk journal and found that I liked that as a technique for rescuing old books. I think that part of the trick of collecting is trying to get creative about how to use (or at least justify) all of the collections. Your videos are inspiring me to try using some of the thread I've collected for some creative endeavors. Hopefully the sound was a little better in this one?
