I would love to live there, because of the beautiful plants as you said and the weather, people, food and of course prices. I also need change from all of the hate that is going on in America. It just seems to get worse as we "progress".
It is sad to see. Although I think it will clear up in the next few years. I didnt come here because of that. I could tune out all the craziness. Knowing history it is also easier to understand. As for living here.... the world is your oyster. Come visit. I think you would be surprised how easy it would actually be. You certainly have a friend here that will help.
@@grancolombia1 If I move there, you Lauren would be my only friend other than my wife. She is not well, and does not want to move, so she may not be alive long, but quien sabe.
I used to hate at times, but my philosophy has changed. Now I think people are just what they are, like crying babies or barking dogs. You are not angry at babies for crying when they are hungry, same with dogs. People are more complicated, but over time, by example, one can influence others by example. My wife is constantly making friends of unfriendly people, but some are hopeless. So Charles, basically I am exactly the way you are, and hope to meet you if we both go there to live, and I hope Lauren will be here to connect and join us. Charles, where do you live and how old are you, and what do you have in mind for health care? My email is giakohl@gmail.com
Hi Loren, these street level videos fill the gaps in questions I have had and give a feel for the neighborhood that is difficult to find without traveling there. I really like them 😊
I'm retired, and would like to move to Ecuador or Colombia. I was in favor of Ecuador, but now Armenia. I would move to Armenia now if could management to keep my Medicare, which I understand can't be used outside the USA. Naturally, I would pay Loren to help me do this.
There is no way to use it outside the usa. However you can opt out of the charged part, and insurance here costs far less than that part, so better coverage at much less cost.
Great video! You should use Amazon affiliate links for your video and sound equipment. That way people can go directly from your description to Amazon and you get a cut. Keep making great videos, I’m moving to Barranquilla this summer.
Nice video, but why do people go through so much schooling knowing the jobs are not there. Do they not wish to move to a larger city like Medellin , I ask out of ignorance? There has to be a reason for this to happen. They do have good medical care in Colombia. Did you know the clinic you passed and what they practice? It said what I interpreted as a clinic for neurological problems. Yeah I'm a gringo.
They never expected to leave their country. they had hopes and dreams and that was in their own country. that was taken away, and most I met fled due to the burden on the families for food and medicine. They flooded other countries trying to survive. Imagine if 100.000 people showed up in NYC this month looking for work? They will either displace others that have jobs, or end up willing to take anything for any amount of money. In Medellin, many are trapped into crime and prostitution to survive. Some go to out of the way places hoping to find more opportunity. Rumors abound. Everyone I meant in Cuenca told me they were informed there was a lot of jobs in Cuenca. Of course they arrived to find it isnt true. In fact the unemployment rate in Ecuador was already very high. It is a serious mess. You cannot flood over borders into another country without dire consequences. It is heart wrenching to see, and why I got involved. But it is endless and feels hopeless. it nearly broke me in fact and I am still recovering. Imagine how it is for them. For the past 2 years not so many in University in Venezuela anymore. There isnt much point as there is no future. Daviana (in Cuenca) left school because she said it was better to eat than to hope.
I noticed it barely but yes, you are correct. there are endless medical places in North Armenia. The care here is vastly superior to most places anywhere. If I needed any sort of medical or dental care, I would come to Colombia for that.
Thank you!! This shows the neighborhood so well!!
GRACIAS POR SUS VIDEOS E INFORMACION, VIAJARE EN SEPTIEMBRE A LA HERMOSA CIUDAD DE ARMENIA COLOMBIA

The Venezuelan doctor he mentions is Brisney. She is doing well now and her mother has joined her in Cuenca.
