I feel like the aesthetic that SSLP had is now sort of coming back into fashion, but in a different context. I’m not sure how Gen Z feels about the album (I was 13 when it came out) but it’s still my favorite Em album and TDOSS might be my second favorite. SSLP just has such a great “moodyness” to it that I feel is very deep with the right amount of dark humor to be relatable to Gen Z, but I’m not sure if the style of rapping is something ya’ll consider “old” by now.
Yeah I remember when I first heard the SSLP I was like this sounds old but then again it came out in 99 and I first heard it in like 2011 so I was used to hearing more current music at the time. I would have only been like 7 in 99 so of course I had no idea that hip hop music was even a thing when I was that little. Lol. It’s defiantly a classic hip hop album for sure but not my favorite. TES is defeintly my favorite Eminem album. 😊
