So there's a reason why you see so many parallels between Star Wars in this. The writers are HUGE Star Wars fans, the last fight between Johnny and Robby was 100% drawing inspiration from it. The name of the song that plays during that fight is called "Duel of the Snakes."
@@pReviewd All three seasons, the music can't get enough praise and they up the ante every time. The orchestration in that climax w/ Daniel Johnny and Kreese literally pulls you to the edge of the edge of your seat and you're already there bc of the drama! Epic isnt even enough of a word for it.
Eli's turn was a long time coming. You saw the regret in his face when he broke his friend's arm. You saw him doubting when Kyler showed up and became part of Cobra Kai, and had to be on the same side as the kid who bullied him because of his lip. You saw him not happy with Kreese kicking Assface off the team, although he was loyal. At that point, Eli began to realize that Kreese didn't care about his students. You also saw Eli realize that Johnny made him, not Kreese, after their confrontation at the school. And you saw his look of hope when Miguel told him that Johnny had started another dojo and invited him to change sides. And finally, the last straw was when he saw his friend Miguel getting beat up by the Kyler, the kid he probably hates most and the two Cobra Kais beating up on Demitri.
Exactly, his turn was not quick, it happened over the season, he switched to kreese at the end of season 2 because he blamed Jonny for Miguel getting hurt, but he constantly questioned kreese and his methods and showed remorse breaking his friends arm earlier in the season. The final straw was that moment when he realised he was standing side by side with kyler his own bully that he realised exactly what he had become.
I think being a Yotube reactor would be the worst way to experience a show for the first time, trying to entertain an audience while watching a show guarantees you're gonna miss a lot.
The last time those three were at the Country Club, Daniel saw Johnny and Ali dancing and tried to run out without being seen, and had a tray of spaghetti dumped on him.
The writers of this show can write a backstory like it’s nobody’s business. After S3, I understood Kreese better, and learned that Terry Silver was once a fearful man with twigs for limbs lol
I know u take it personally that so many of your viewers don't like that u haven't seen or don't remember the Karate Kid movies but having that background knowledge REALLY helps u appreciate all the details big and small. It helps US who watch YOU enjoy the reaction even more. I hope u understand.
I think I've binged all of their content in the last month - 2021 has had one gift to give and it was these two. So excited they're doing more and more reactions!
This show is amazing. In regards to Hawk/Eli’s redemption, I think next season he will still have to deal with his previous bad behavior. No way they trust him 💯 after all that happened. However, it was elegantly done. He saw the abyss, and walked away from it. His character is incredibly loyal, and everyone he was loyal to was no longer on his side.
It took a **second** choking by Kreese to bring Johnny to the opinion of Cobra Kai that Daniel assumed Johnny would have in S1E1 at the dealership ("...I know that wasnt you...it was Cobra Kai...we're all better off without them, amiright?") given that Daniel witnessed it both times.
So the pitch meeting of Cobra Kai S3 looked at the final scenes and went 'what if it was like Star Wars? But also an anime? Taking place during a Video Game Boss Fight? In a live action show about Karate' and the writers just slapped the desk and went 'challenge accepted'
I love your reviews! Can't wait for more series and movie reviews! Also: Karate Kid/Cobra Kai and Star Wars have been the foundations of my life. Also also: I have such a crush on Adam!!
I would not have given Cobra Kai a chance if it wasn’t for the two of you, I had written it off with out giving it a chance, after watching a few of your reactions I decided to watch it for a laugh.......I was not ready for this....this is so much better than it has any right to be, thank you both. What colour do you think Eli’s mohawk will be next season, so far they are following a Star Wars colour theme first it was blue, it went red when he turned to the dark side, now with his redemption? Personally I loved the redemption and felt they have been doing a slow burn on Eli all season, and his redemption is also a big win for Dimitri and Miguel have both been trying to bring him back around and open his eyes, so their forgiveness of him makes sense....they just won the battle to bring him back.
The spaghetti was a call back to kk1 when the last time all 3 of johny, Daniel and Alli were at this country club...Daniel had a bowl of spaghetti sauce spilled onto his white jacket.
I don't get why people say "this show shouldn't work, but it does". Me: It had the entire Karate Kid Trilogy to draw all its storylines from, the greatest movies ever. Why Wouldn't (part4 aka Cobra Kai ) work?..
Yes, the guy from Vietnam is the same guy from Karate Kid 3, Terry Silver, Kreese or Captain said in some episode "shut up Silver", but in flashback he is not the guy with the ponytail.
I think Hawk realized that he was on the wrong side was when the guy that he joined Cobra Kai to beat gave him a chest bump. I think he realized that he had become what he hated most, but I definitely think Hawk will have to do a lot more in season 4 to fully redeem himself.
Awesome! You know at the end of each show do Johnny and Daniel pick up their class fees from the kids? Like “good class today guys, leave your cash in the box on your way out” 🤣🤣
I loved almost everything about this episode. And even though I don't have a problem "in theory" with Robbie siding with Kreese, or Tory being unable to let stuff go, or Hawk turning away from Cobra Kai; I think all three of them were rushed a bit too much to where you have a knee-jerk reaction of, "Wait, what? Really?" A bit more set-up throughout the series would've gone a long way.
I can buy both Robbie and Tory being loyal to Kreese bc both were isolated and Kreese knows how to make in-roads with vulnerable kids and take the place of a parental figure. And Kreese is so dead inside and messed up that he helps and hurts them at the same time while they're still young and inexperienced enough to not know the difference. Contrast w/ Johnny who he's still trying to manipulate this season and still embeds a useful nugget in the midst of it "im still your teacher" that inspired Johnny to go back to Miguel's bedside and not be pushed away again.
I'd disagree a bit on the Hawk thing. They have been hinting at his face turn for the past 4 or 5 episodes and seeing his former friend, who he also hurt, about to get the business again was that final straw.
@@dj2257 It’s been since the start of the season. Right from the jump, Hawk’s insecurities are brought to the forefront when the school starts favoring Demetri over him. You could tell right there the amount of conflict going on inside him & all his big acts to prove himself after that were just to put up a face; it’s why he couldn’t steal the Cobra but Robbie could. Hawk just wasn’t in it anymore, whereas Robbie had been through a ton of trauma these past few seasons & was sadly susceptible to Kreese’s influence.
@@brogie1151 Good points right there. I thought it was pretty clear the conflict inside of him (wow, that sounded like something from Star Wars!), I was just waiting for the actual turn.
@@dj2257 I just don't think from a writing standpoint that "sad furtive glances to the side" is really a good set up for a redemption turn. He physically did far more that was pure Cobra Kai than just the few times he looked a little unsure. He literally threw a kid through a window in that same episode and was the first one to storm in all angry-faced.
The Vietnam guy is Terry Silver, and yes they are calling him, he was saved by Kreese both by not blowing the explosives and by getting them out of the POW camp. Daniel fought Mike Barnes in the third movie, who was the kid Terry Silver hired to fight Daniel to help Kreese get revenge on Miyagi and Daniel. KBF dojo lol loved it, "Karate Best friends". How are they going to make this work... Miyagi Eagle? Miyagi Fang (Not too bad)? Eagle-Do (Not sure Daniel would go along with that name, since he wants to honor Miyagi's family karate name)?
wild speculation Kreese has no intention of keeping his word and has called Terry Silver to send some extra muscle. They show up and along with Cobra Kai attack and are about to defeat Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang when Julie shows up with her Karate students to even up the numbers.
Tory must have masterminded the whole home invasion on her own. She initiated it but didn't tell Kreese or Robby. She knew Robby wouldn't go, because she knew Robby still had feelings for Sam and still respects Daniel for helping him. Even though Daniel accused Kreese of sending Cobra Kai to his house and going after his daughter, I don't think Kreese did that.
Kreese knew exactly what he was doing when he told her about how Miguel and Sam teamed up at the town hall meeting to get the All Valley Tournament reinstated, lol. He might not have known exactly what she was going to do, but he knew she would do something about by planting that seed. Also, Robby did know about it because in season 4×1 she was upset at Robby for not being at the house fight.

That’s typical bully behaviour. Their ego will not allow their victims to have the final say. It only ends if they win the fight
The last time those three were at the Country Club, Daniel saw Johnny and Ali dancing and tried to run out without being seen, and had a tray of spaghetti dumped on him.
