- The stock exhaust on every w210 is way too quiet. You hear more engine noise than exhaust. Here is the best setup you can do without spending crazy amounts of money, just a few hundred bucks. Even the supersprint exhaust is barely louder than the stock E55 AMG muffler. Watch till the end to see what you can do further if doing the secondary cat and resonator delete is not loud enough for you.
Setup for the tectite gray e55:
secondary cat and resonator replaced with straight pipe

Gives me a little heartache man. Had a pre-facelift black on black with high flow cats primaries, secondary cat and res delete. Sounded similar to this. Long gone now. Never let her go!

You may want to consider removing the resonator as well if you plan to keep the muffler. It plays a significant role in the sound.
I have heard its better to have the x-pipe closer to the engine.
I have heard that too. The x pipe I got was pre made to be bolt on so I just went with it

210 E55 -how about remove resonator only and keep secondary cats, Amg muffler. do you have the link of the bolt on x-pipe u used. Or recommend?
X pipe was fabricated at an exhaust shop. There’s some on eBay you can buy that will also work but need to be welded in. The secondary cats add a lot of sound so if you just remove the resonator it will be a little quieter

And how did you solve the problem with the second lambda sensor and the "check Engine" error?
There is no sensor for the secondary cats. No check engine light.

A 2000+ car will pass in CA with star smog. My 2002 has passed for the last 7+ years in California.

In California a 2000+ car will pass if the shop doing the smog isn’t strict on visual inspection.
@@SoCal210 Ok what about the actual inspection when they look for fumes coming out or so, does the secondary cat delete plus resonator delete emit any gasses that are harmful, or does it not do anything ?
It will fail a sniffer
What do you mean by gutted muffler? What does that mean?
The muffler was cut open and all the sound deadening material inside was removed.
