- The weather over the site today was wet and foggy. This modified 4K view from the telescopic camera shows how quickly the site's weather changes. Demo preparations are still ongoing for the anticipated cutting of the bridge span across Dali's bow tomorrow after 5 p.m. local time. We will be there livestreaming.

I'm using the same equipment with the same settings. And yes, I'm on a desktop custom build. Music was good yesterday, but no so for voice. All audio is great today. Yesterday was the only day I've had any issues. Thanks for crawling out of your rack and getting things going today, and for covering the incident in general. This is history and will be talked about in the trades for decades to come.

Hi captain Andy, I follow you from Dunedin New Zealand. I’m wondering how they are going to get the roadway off the bow of Dali. And how are they going to get the bridge pier out of the Dali? I watch your channel everyday for updates. Keep up the great work
Once the span is separated from the rest of the roadway still aboard the ship, the task of cutting and removing will be much easier and safer. I would expect to see the ship moved back away from the pier and then re-anchored where teams will be able to best attack the remaining debris
@@MinorcanMullet Hi Andy, thank you for the quick reply. What day are they moving the Dali? Or removing the span? Our time in New Zealand is currently midday Saturday 11 may. Just so I can watch it.
@@johnkirby8849 I'm not sure. If everything goes as planned for Sunday afternoon local time, I think the ship will be pulled back next week. I don't think it will go to port, but rather be anchored where crews can continue to remove the debris that covers the deck.

Yeah i was one of the guys mentioning the background noise, but didn't know it was raining and also didn't know that the camera/mic is under a tarp/shelter and the noise was the raindrops.
really appreciate your reporting Captain Andy working in such weather, looks like your in need of a wet or dry suit, and perhaps use of an infra red camera to see through the soup, we might say 'as thick as custard' in the UK

I have complained about your volume in the past, but since the last sound update, about 4 days ago, I have had to turn my volume down to just under 1/2. You went from I could tell you were specking but not able to hear what you were saying to loud and clear at just under 1/2 volume. Thank-you for those upgrades from NEW ZEALAND.

Captain Andy their is a volume stability toggle in the settings tab on youtube that was added a few weeks back
maybe those with audio issues should check that it is enabled as when that setting is available it raises the volume up.

Thanks for actually stating the time they plan for tomorrow. Where did you learn that? I'm surprised it's not on the main response site.
The audio is fine regardless of which technology I use for viewing, however it is possible that some viewers are unfamiliar with marine ship to ship and ship to shore communications which would perhaps explain why some viewers think that parts of the audio are crackly and variable.

I did hear a few audible drop-outs on the *your* TH-cam show audio...your voice going from great 100% and then dropping-out to around 10% of the volume, then cut back to the great 100% volume again.
The "10% volume drop-out" events occurs at the very end a few times while you are talking. Your volume goes from 100% to 10% during the volume drop-out. only happens a few times.
It sounds like "your" microphone audio mute button is intermittent.... so maybe the audible mute cut-out button is touchy...or lightly touched without full cut-off...but only getting 10% mute (vs 0% full mute). I'd check into the mute (if you cough or sneeze) button.
