Damn, rapping on the trumpet sounds better than I expected
Ooooh look who's trying to low key brag, nice try and a little cringe that you thought that way.
@@escapedcops08 what?
@@escapedcops08 💀💀 They weren't bragging? All they said is that the trumpet played better than expected
@@escapedcops08 you mind is so twist bro
Bro check out Brasstracks cover of XO Tour Life, in my feelings, what’s next. Or welcome back. So good
One of the best riffs ever written hands down
Not a riff but ok
@@Snavels ummm... beat?
@@Houster1000 I was under the impression that you were talking about the trumpet solo, if you're talking about the original background music then yes, Beat would be a more fitting description
@@Snavels Ahhh the solo is nice... but slim shady is dang good.
Which makes a great ground for this solo to thrive.
Shame He didnt write it then
Brilliant. Now I want a full "jazz"-ish cover of The Real Slim Shady complete with trumpet solo
There's this one, it's a full trumpet solo of the whole song:
th-cam.com/video/paSo1fAIskc/w-d-xo.html
It's made by the same creator.
@@mobilefanta8936 I found it not long after and I'm so happy, though it's not actually his channel that uploaded it

@@sluttyMapleSyrup i call bullshit
That A to F slur at the beginning is incredibly hard to pull off, and he does it with ease…pure skill
I too love using F slurs
@@bananaowner_real LMAO
It's not hard if you have good air control.
I'm more uncomfortable with the A to A glissandoes
And he just does it like it never even happened
I love how smooth the transition from THE LICC to the base melody was
Part of that is because the last note of the lick in this key is the last note of the repeating motif from slim shady before it repeats
@@cosinex8361 yeah when I saw the second line I was confused on the C sharp, but then it switched to the melody. I love it
Literally the purpose of the lick in the first place
and the MYBALLS was dope as well.
Damn this got a lot of likes
Respect for putting the alternate valve notation on the lip slurs, the detail you add on these transcriptions is spot on for every instrument 👏👏

since when is this minecraft youtuber interested in trumpet
@@tristanros6148 minecraft youtubers can have hobbies and other interests just like anyone else, no?
Omicron can, as a fellow Minecraft player, and me knowing well who you are, can you hit a double g?
he’s just a regular here now, not even surprised
Damn man you should release this as a full track. This would slay at weddings
He did
The lick is craazzzy man. Absolutely perfect in this piece.
Not gonna lie. To me, this was like if rap, swing and jazz had a kid and they pooped this out. A full cover would be amazing imo
...no, thios is as if Swing and Jazz had a kid. "Rap" is just irritatingly talking over the rhythm section; if you replace the whiner with actual instruments you can go in pretty much any muscal direction.
@@codinghusky5196 maybe try actually listening to a genre before dissing it. Take a second to actually listen to some good rap music and you'd realize it's so much more than "irritated talking"
@@thomasmurdock9989 To be fair some people just don't care for prose. I'm one of them. Poetry and rap are just big turnoffs for me, and if the song isn't good sans lyrics, I won't like it. Not all rap falls into that category, but plenty of it does.
@@codinghusky5196 this comment smells like mountain dew and cheeto dust

Sick muted solo! Slip this over a 90s hip hop beat and no one would bat an eye!
What if he put it over a hip hop beat from Y2K?

This is SO COOL, so musically played, and so impressive. Got a learn it myself--Thanks for the notation!
He made the lick sound good
Always does
@@yassineelshayeb5785 yes, but this one is like, *G O O D*
The lick always sounds good, that’s why it’s so big!
The lick doesn’t usually sound good
I'd say less "good" in the sense that it's a cliche for a reason.
It's more... Natural. That it's there because it's exactly what the song needed, and that you'd hardly notice that it's The Lick without being told.
How is it even possible to have a solo so clean :O
Ikr! Im also wondering how you have 573 likes and im your only comment😂
Did not know what to expect, that was so much more than I had in mind. Killer fit, killer fill.
That sounded great!!! Looks like you had fun with it too. Keep it up.

Trumpets fit very well with early 2000s hits. Remember Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”?
90s and early 2000s had a lot of love for Jazz.
Fits better in this th-cam.com/video/sJqDmVekMWU/w-d-xo.html
Those trumpets actually are taken from a Salsa song very popular here in Latin America. She just put them on that song.
Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love"
Search "Jerry Rivera - Amores como el nuestro"
That was freakin dope! Great job
I need more of this. Replayed it about 15 times by now and I still can't get enough of it. Also my face is now stuck in stank mode.
It was already a cool fusion of styles with the harpsichord lic and now this trumpet added extraordinary value to the music! Wow!!
I didn't expect to see a fellow Orthodox Christian on this video. Glad I'm not the only one who likes Byzantine chant and this kind of music!
@@joshua_wherley It's all the music brother
It gives me a mid-60s Miles Davis vibe
to be fair, it isn't a harpsichord, actually is a clavinet.
He’s digging a whole new groove into this song. Legitimately impressive.

One of the coolest things I've heard in a while. Amazing!
The underlying beat of that song is so god damn good, and a good trumpet can never go wrong.

Labi Siffre - I Got the
Instantly improved. Strongly believe any song can be upgraded by a brass instrument solo. Fight me if you disagree. Edited: Wow, thanks for the likes!
Naw man this is sick I would never fight for something like this, although a whole brass ensamble would sound real meaty on this if I’m honest
@@adriandelgado8709 haha, gotcha bro! Just an expression of speech. That trumpet solo got me passionate. 🤣
I was gonna say moonlight sonata (if it even counts as a "song") but then I remembered the third movement exists
@@johnnyrr2643 The third movement certainly does NOT need a brass solo. I feel like that would certainly not work in context of the piece, unless you want to add brass to the other movements too.
Granted, that's just my opinion.
I don't think a song like "Puss Filled Vaginal Canal" with Coprocephalic Mutation would work with brass instrument...
I've watched this a dozen times now and it keeps getting better
TRULY amazing. Well done!!
This channel is such a gift. You curate some of the most wonderful talent that I would not otherwise get to experience, and then you bring a next-level appreciation for the music with amazing transcription.
Thanks so much for what you do.

That solo was even dirtier than the language in this song and it was beautiful i stg

Excellent playing! As a fellow brass player, I appreciate how accurate and detailed the transcriptions on the bottom of the screen are. Thanks, definitely gonna try to play this when my trumpet gets done being repaired this weekend.
When you jazz so hard, the rap song you covered goes way back to its roots:

For trumpet solos I'd recommend any of the videos with Wayne Bergeron or James Morrison. Arturo Sandoval is pretty great too.

Holy smokes you’re in high school?!?!?!? You’re transcriptions are so amazing and you cultivate such a wide array of talent, I thought you were a uni professor...
Suddenly I want a full cover of this song to put on my phone and listen to while driving
He made one
Sounds so good
Dude that's pretty cool!
Wow. That actually sounds like it would work incredibly well. I only clicked on the link because I couldn't even imagine what this could sound like.
At school I had lessons for the cornet, but gave it up because after learning to read sheet music, the key combos for each note, and practicing until my folks were nearly suicidal, I found that I got to a pretty low skill plateau and just couldn't get any better. After months with zero improvement I'd had enough. It fills me with equal measures of admiration and jealousy to see you play how I WANTED to be able to play back then. In the end I changed instrument, and started learning the piano instead........... Before realising I was hopelessly c**p at that too. :D
Yeah, to play an instrument you have to actually practice - a lot. That's why rapping got so popular. No practice required.
this is so good :D I always wanted to learn the trumpet but my neighbors would have killed me xD
Do it! Follow your passions. It’s going to be hard but it’s going to be worth the effort. And if you’re really worried about your neighbors being upset with you, you can get practice mutes that help muffle the sound to outsiders but have microphones and a headset for the person playing it.
@@philiphockenbury6563 ok i didnt know that.. already playing guitar and piano for many years..guess the trumpet will be next.. thx man
