What an exceptional empathy and unparalleled understanding you have for the the music, instrumentation and voice of Joni Mitchell! Born back in 1953, her songs were a great emotional education for me when a certain form of toxic masculinity was infiltrating the "hippie" generation. When I started working with the Vietnam antiwar movement at 14, some Quaker friends of mine had a reel-to-reel recording of Joni Mitchell from a hootenanny up at a Canadian college. This Pennsylvania boy was somewhat lovestruck at first hearing. As my life evolved and matured, Ms. Mitchell's work seemed to be aligned with my fuller embrace of life and art. Thank you quite sincerely for using your remarkable talent to render these songs alive again!
Thank you, Thomas. I started listening to Joni when I was in high school in the 70’s. The first song I learned was Help Me, and in France they kiss on Main Street. I played it with a band made up of really good musicians from my hometown. I love playing her songs. They are challenging, both musically and lyrically. So glad you are enjoying my renditions. I certainly enjoy performing them.

Beautiful! The arpeggiated patterns are perfectly executed and your upper register is spot on. I grew up in rural Manitoba and had Joni as a local inspiration for my entire life. A simple solution for improving the sound of a room is hanging moving blankets from boom stands which I'm certain you have a garage full. Pan your guitar and voice to the center of the stereo field. Love your work!

These are songs by Joni in 1965 and 1966 about 3 years before her first album was released. 1966 - Joni Mitchell- "Just Like Me" 1965 - Joni Mitchell - "Born to Take the Highway" 1965 - Joni Mitchell - "Urge For Going" 1965 - Joni Mitchell - "Me and My Uncle" All above songs are on TH-cam. They are really great folk songs when Joni had that pure crystal clear soaring folk soprano voice. I absolutely love all these songs, especially "Born to Take the Highway." Just hoping you might be able to cover these songs? Thank you for all you do in covering so many songs.
