We would be broke using every tweek or modification. And there will never be a rym or reason for every sound, color motion until they actually tell us. WATER clarity sun moon smell wtf
Great tip about frogs as search baits 👍Teckel has some cool frogs for searching. My favorite is the Honker frog, it has metal blades off the legs that clang against each other during retrieve. Very unique sound and easy to fish. Opening the hooks slightly with pliers will improve hookup ratio.
Would definitely recommend the Scum Frog Trophy Series for new frog fishermen as they are the softest frog I have found and have a great hookup percentage. In the Chicago area it is definitely the start of frog season!!
Matt your right on the money about Okeechobee, huge lake that fish's incredible small. No shortage of things to flip and pitch at. You can run a search bait for long stretch of water and not get a bite. Still one of my favorite places to fish.
Good to see u have some good weather, finally... Also good u get your boys outside & they will exsperiance fishing outdoors. To many kids now days wanna stay inside on the iPad or playstation!!!
Who else had heart palpitations at 1:07 when the little guy hustled towards the river's edge behind dad's back???🙋🏼♂️🤯😳 Thankfully, it's clear Duke knows to stay OUT of the river.😮💨
That looks very creative. I have trailing hooks that use the same method of attachment on most of my frogs, but I will definitely try that trailer. I hope it comes in black.
Matt, You should check out Spro's Flappin Frog. This is the only frog that I'll fish. It's a hybrid between a toad and frog but floats like a frog and kicks like a toad. Very similar gurgling noise from a prop. I hook up soo much better with this frog and the plastic last a long time. I had a pike bite right into it and it didn't even tear. Just need to super glue the belly weight and bead at the end of the frog. But it's worth it.
Have not tried it yet but I will. I have been getting replacement tails for the sprinker frog and using them on a swim jig works amazingly well and they smoke it because they don’t see it all the time
@@MattStefanFishing if you haven’t tried for snakehead ( I believe Florida has bullseye), you should definitely give it a shot. Pound for pound one of the best fights out there today.
Matt - I have what I believe is the best cheese bait out there. Not trying to sell anything. But I would love to share with you. Some assembly required but like 1 minute :)
Matt, does that work like the big Colorado blades some frogs have on the back? I've seen some Japanese frogs like deps or jackall have Colorado blades on the back of them and I wondered what the point is?
I fish madison area and up north a few weeks out of the year. What’s you go to color in pea green water and then that up north tea colored water. Love the content.
I could put 5 Jitterbugs with those plopper tails onto an Alabama rig and I still don't think I'd be able to generate a topwater strike. I bet they work great for other anglers, however.
Bass fishing has been a little tough lately for me between everything going on hopefully soon my dad will take some time to take me out fishing but for now I am filming me at my local creek! #bigcreeksteppa
nice tip, Matt! I’m sure it gives a better sound than the teckel frog, plus you can put this on any frog. 🙂 By the way, someone’s letting the facial hair grow. ha Looks good👍
@@MattStefanFishing ya that's what i thought, that's living the dream. And the memories you can make with your boys and wife, priceless. I'm so happy to see all the hard work paying off. To take the chance you did, moving, going full time pro and take on daily media production. Keep it up Matt! I'm rooting for you.
First time I saw these but I will be getting some. In the late 1980's I got selected to fish as a amateur in a BASS top 100 on the Potomac river. At the tournament I met I believe the gentleman's name was Lloyd Talent the inventor of the Rat. I believe he sold it to Mann's. Lloyd was also a amateur competitor and won the tournament fishing the rat. Lloyd and I roomed at the same motel and spent time talking fishing and tournaments because one day was canceled because of a hurricane. Maybe Hugo? Well anyway the rat was the start of the frog baits we have today thanks to Lloyd. Nice man.
I have used these before and frankly the hookup ratio is poor. I would rather buy booyah toadrunners or teckel springer frogs for this and have had sucess with both
interesting. i cant say ive noticed a bad hookup ratiuo with this rig. Teckel sprinker frog i would say has a bad hookup ratio, but thats just my opinion from my experience. I feel like it gets bit, I just misss a lot more fish with it. thats why i always say stick to what you have confidence in .
@@MattStefanFishing no one uses the it anymore, what they fail to see is Roland Martin used to make 3 or 4 pit shows using it. He doesn't mention it's name.
I absolutely love these modification videos. Thanks Matt
awesome!
Thanks for putting this out there. It's a perfect case of "I didn't know I needed it till I saw it!"
Glad it was helpful!

@@bryanturner2494 I hear ya! and I agree. but when it comes to froggin, I'm a sucker for trying anything new. And, yes, I did order these. lol!

I love the pink frog in the darker water that is kind of tanic colored....great content
It’s a good one
Wow Matt, a weedless whopper popper. Great info, thanks for sharing.
You bet
Great new way to make the frog more valuable
It sure is!
The Spro Flappin frog is a good one. Has solid legs with boot feet. Does the same type of thing without adding extra bulk to your frog.
thanks for sharing!
That is awesome. Sounds louder than the teckel too. I’m gonna have try it.
its a load bait
I got one of those last summer but haven't used it yet. I'll have to try it this weekend.
go for it!

Totally love the tips you have been sharing! This looks like a good one and I think I will need to try this, looks amazing for covering water.

sounds great thanks for sharing
I use it on my frogs on days with a slite breeze or I use a Teckle frog. Caught some nice fish on both.
good info!
Awesome tip!!!!👊🏻 Thanks for sharing. Definitely worth checking out & trying!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
You bet!
The Teckl Frog is built like that. It is used by snakehead fish angler here in the Chesapeake Bay area.
it is but this sounds a lot better than a sprinker frog
We’ve been using this for Northern Snakehead in Maryland for years now
awesome!

I'm definitely an impatient power fisherman lol I'll have to try these out or rig something up. I do love a frog mod!
give it a try!
Cool mod. Thanks for sharing.
You bet
Another good one Matt, how often are you throwing that color frog ???
a lot lately
I’ve seen these for awhile, but honestly I was never to interested by them…however, seeing the action and how well they work I’ll be investing
its worth having a pack or two
That looks cool.
it is

No problem

purple in the stained water and black in the pea soup
