RAT3 has been my go to fixed blade for a decade now. I can’t break it, I’ve tried. Ordered a custom leather sheath for it to make carrying more comfortable behind the back. I cannot speak highly enough of it.

The Gerber Strongarm, for a fixed blade, is an AMAZING knife for the price. It has been part of my kit in service since they came out with the Coyote Tan. I love the Esse but in my kit the Strongarm won’t be replaced. Keep up the great work guys!
The Kershaw Leek is my edc, blue/black aluminum handle with a standard liner lock. I’ve had it for three years, and it hasn’t failed me to this day. On top of how durable it is and how well made, it just... feels nice. It’s light, spring assisted for instant opening and I’ll say, I don’t go anywhere without it.
My favorite knife on the table is the Civivi Elementum, it even comes in Gray G10 and two different wood scales. I'm extremely selective and it's probably going to be my next knife in my small collection.
Victorinox Compact is what it was called... I was never really interested in them just cuz I had a bad experience as a kid with one nearly cutting my finger off! But this compact has soooo many awesome features that I might buy it!!! 🤙🏼
@@amadeospapa5673 see, I find it way more utilitarian. Easy to control, huge cutting/slicey capabilities, and still in a small package. Besides, I carry a squid/pilar as a secondary knife. And my main EDC is almost always a drop point blade. So I like having my secondary blade as something a little different.

I’ve got a buddy at work that absolutely LOVES the crkt squid, we work in an industrial plant and he’s one of the maintenance guys. He’s had at least 3 of them since I’ve been there and he uses it every day to scrape, pry, cut, everything you name it.

Love the Ontario RAT 1 and 2. They're cheap, well built, come in alot of colors, and they make great gifts. Got one for my wife, our babysitter, and it'll probably be my kid's first knife.
The orange g10 squid is the first knife I received from BHQ, although my PM2 was ordered at the same time. I love the squid! It is so solid and looks great. You don't notice it in your pocket, and is a great size for box opening and almost every EDC task.
I'm all about the Begleiter. Good steel, good construction, classic, simple lines, super comfortable in the hand. I like the full size better, but definitely want a mini as well.
@@jamesconley6919 I think it's a coin toss between those steels for general use. Both take and hold a nice edge, aren't too hard to sharpen, and resist elements well. I'm led to believe VG-10 is slightly more corrosion resistant while 154 can take slightly more physical abuse, but neither on a $50 EDC would be something to complain about.
Thank you for the observation. I don't like the camera zoomed out while they open the knives. And I don't care if the guys can open them in. 004 milliseconds. How about zooming in and showing them closed?
Nothing beats Opinel, less than $20 with a decent steel a blade with a wonderful geometry for slicing and a solid lock and it is so lightweight that it floats on water. Just checked and blade HQ sells Opinel, so there isn't really a good excuse.
Gerber Dime is the best keychain multi-tool out there. I don't know of any other tool that has pliers scissors and removable tweezers in such a small size. I have several. They also make the Dime Travel, where they replaced the blade with a luggage zipper pull.
Rat 1 and 2? Also would love to see an episode of Tamote's knife collection (hope I spelled his name right) He seems like a man with sophisticated taste

I work on a farm. I tried many knives and the only one, folding knife I settled is Cold Steel Pocket Bushman Folding Knife 95FBZ. I cut the rope, cut small trees if I have to and it is indestructible. It is not quick release, but it's the only folding knife I ever owned with the integrity of the fixed blade.
Best budget knife I ever bought was an Ontario utilitac 2 got a collectors first production run when they came out aus8 steel 35 bucks or so g10 handle bought it when I was 16.been carrying it for 5 years now
I have that exact Keyshaw link. I bought my dad one for Father’s Day last year and loved it. So when I found it about a month later for $35 it was a steal
I carry my opinel when I'm out in the woods and stuff for food. Just feels right cutting fruit and cheese haha. For work I like having a clip so it's easier to get out of pocket. Got some cheapo Gerber knife that looks like a razor, actually really nice for opening boxes.

I bought the Squid because of how much Ben loved it. I didn’t realize how small it was and initially I was annoyed, but the squid has come in so handy I carry it everyday. Still excited for the Pilarge though!
I'll take the Squid all day. It's my EDC and when I almost upgraded to a Pilar. CRKT came out with an upgraded version with D2 steel. I probably won't trade it out unless I have to.

I had the Link 1776 in M390. You have to preorder it (it's never in stock) and wait months to get it. It came in the box so dull it couldn't cut paper or shave hair. The edge grind was uneven. I resharpened it and it took an hour. FINALLY got it mirror finish and hair popping sharp and 1 week at work light cutting, breaking down the occasional cardboard box and cutting tape, it went dull again. A simple strop wouldn't bring it back. I think they had a new guy sharpening it and burned the everloving crap out of the heat treat. I've tried of getting burned knives from Kershaw :( I had a burned edge problem with the Leek too.
I love the SAK Compact but it is actually significantly more expensive than similar sized Victorinox models with more tools in those. Very weird seeing it in a video dedicated to Best Bang for your Buck. You're definitely paying a larger premium for less tools with the Compact. Yeah, it's a great urban SAK but you're overpaying for what you get.
The new set looks nice. Good job. You mentioned the mini grip in D2 is being clearanced. That is a great knife. Anyone who reads this should pick one of the D2 steel mini grips up now. I love mine. I carry it everywhere and it doesn't take much to maintain it. Awesome knife. Now I'm on myu way to check out the Link.
Delica 4 all day long. It’s a GD work horse. I’m impressed for its price how well it’s holding up as my daily work knife as a cabinet maker. I use it 5-10 times a day for so many different tasks.

Got both the Iona and the M390 Link. Gotta say, the Iona sees a lot more pocket time than the Link...and the Link is my favorite Kershaw. The Iona is more office friendly. And where I live, there is a confusing maze of jurisdictions where 3" is considered too murdery. The Iona is at 2.9". Safe and less intimidating.

I would personally reccomend the K-bar USMC military utility knife. It is a good bang for your buck. I bought it for 90 dollars and it comes with a full leather sheath and it is a great quality blade.
You haven't mentioned the Kizer Vanguard Dukes. It is one of my favorite EDC knives. Light weight, nicely contoured grips excellent flipper action. I have an older one with a VG10 blade and bought the newer one with M690 steel. Gave it to my daughter for her law enforcement work. I like the red and black G10 handles best.
The gerber strongarm is an amazing knife for the price under 100$ with a 3way Cary sheath vertical belt carry horizontal belt Carry molle straps it’s my favorite fixed blade

I really enjoy watching. I see a lot of edc knives and multi. Tools. I have never ser anything to help mantane your edege on cutting edeges. I have always carried a small stone. I would like to see what other people carry.
Folks have already mentioned the R2D2, which remains my "Best in class" work folder. For value fixed blades I am a huge fan of the Mora knives, and specifically the Garberg. Or the Bushcraft black. Or the Companion. Also, the Cold Steel SRK is the Godfather of survival knives. Honorable mention goes to the Gerber Strongarm, considered to be one of the better options out there.
I'm actually really stooked about that knife that had all the different tools... Something Compact... Looked like a swiss army knife.... Anyway that one I'm really interested in! Another awesome episode fellas!!!👍🏼🤘🏼✌🏼

The CRKT Pilar III with D2 is a wonderful knife for $52. One of my budget favorites.
Yeah! The tenacious is a workhorse. Been using it in the field awhile now. Nice stocky blade, strong handle, quality steel, and a great price.
The only con with Blade HQ. Seems like everything I look at is always "out of stock"

I have the Kershaw Link in M390. Very High quality and M390 is now my favorite steel. It just stays sharp.

You should do close up camera shoot to every knife you open, hearing them open is awesome, now seeing it up close open up makes it even cooler .

I would personally reccomend the K-bar USMC military utility knife. It is a good bang for your buck. I bought it for 90 dollars and it comes with a full leather sheath and it is a great quality blade.

You haven't mentioned the Kizer Vanguard Dukes. It is one of my favorite EDC knives. Light weight, nicely contoured grips excellent flipper action. I have an older one with a VG10 blade and bought the newer one with M690 steel. Gave it to my daughter for her law enforcement work. I like the red and black G10 handles best.

Folks have already mentioned the R2D2, which remains my "Best in class" work folder. For value fixed blades I am a huge fan of the Mora knives, and specifically the Garberg. Or the Bushcraft black. Or the Companion. Also, the Cold Steel SRK is the Godfather of survival knives. Honorable mention goes to the Gerber Strongarm, considered to be one of the better options out there.
