My favorite part of this episode, aside from Ainz proving to us, and himself, that he is a badass. Is that while Ainz’s friends are not there with him remnants of who they are still exist in the NPCs. Although the NPCs could not replace them, especially with highly they regard Ainz, however they are there for him. Ainz may be lonely, but he is not alone. Albedo, Demiurge, and the others try their best to reassure Ainz that he can rely on them. They are ready to go help whenever he needs it and whatever it is he needs help with.

I think you're mistaken. I know this is late but i'll still give you information. The only one that died that night was the guy with the shield that protected the one casting the mind control spell. In season 2 the guy with the spear mentioned that "Kaire-sama is gravely injured". Now Kaire was the old woman that casted the Mind control magic. So...yeah, Ainz is actually fighting a whole country called "Slane Theocracy" Because Slane Theocracy sent those people to investigate something (Not gonna spoil)
