I recently got into Scottish football. I’m from Wisconsin USA. And this channel has been really helpful with learning about football in Scotland. Really like your appreciation for the game. Always look forward to your videos 🔥
I love your positivity! And I'll share what I love about some of the clubs! 0:55 ELGIN CITY! Hey we may not be a city anymore but we have the cathedral and that's on the Elgin City Badge(Come to think of it when it comes to Elgin, the cathedral is on everything). It's my home and I love Elgin to bits. 2:35 Aye I love Stenhousemuir, first game I ever saw was Elgin VS Stenhousemuir(They won but I was 11 and I loved it!). My dad and I ran into some of their fans after the match and they were very friendly! Nice team. 4:05 Oh aye Forfar are a very nice team, you can't say they aren't the friendliest bunch. A few weeks back I ran into their fans in Tesco after a match with Elgin, nice bunch. And I've seen them play a couple times, again wonderful team to watch. 6:47 I love Dumbarton! Lovely team. I support two clubs and both times I've seen each play Dumbarton(Years apart of course) I remember Dumbarton played some right nice football and it was joy to watch. And I like their Badge. 10:25 Dunfermline are the second club I support, due to my Dad having been originally from Dunfermline(He is a fan of theirs as well so that helps), I love the team to bits, I haven't managed to go to any matches over the last season due to conflicting with other life stuff also home matches were off limits due to personal reasons. But next season I plan to be there for every Inverness match, you have my word Dunfermline. However mate with all due respect I don't want them in the Premiership, I want them in the Championship, I don't believe that going into the premiership will yield anything positive(Or if it does it's stuff that isn't worth it) and will just cause Dunfermline to go bust again(I blame the Premiership champaigns for going bust a few years ago and ambition is fine but going bust isn't). Also I love Dunfermline's badge, I'm biased but I love the fact it looks quite Unique when compared to other badges. Also Sammy the Tammy is awesome, I remember them playing hibs on April Fools day one time and Sammy had given his shirt to the Hibs mascot but then ran onto the pitch with a banner reading "There's only 1 Sammy the tammy!" and I couldn't help but laugh myself silly. Another match he was out with the "Last Original Irn Bru", I know he's not as flashy as other mascots but I love him! 13:14 Being from Elgin I love Inverness too. If it weren't for them I wouldn't have gotten to see half the matches I have, owe those guys for that. Will always root for them if they're playing anyone that isn't Elgin or Dunfermline. I love their badge, love their stadium, I admit I do feel kinda sad one of my worst football memories was when I was at Inverness watching them play Dunfermline in 2007 and will never forget that ball slipping through De Vries' fingers which was gutting(He thought he had it, he caught it but it slipped through his fingers) Felt really bad for him and I hope he's doing well where ever he is now. Being at that match was the match we knew Dunfermline were relegated, maybe it affected the way I view the premiership now but if it did, I don't care. Inverness is really nice club and the supporters I've met are awesome! After the match I just mentioned ran into a pair and they were really nice about it. 14:36 One of the first fans I met as a kid that wasn't a Rangers or Celtic fan was a Kilmarnock Fan and he was awesome. We kept poking fun at each other and in the few years I knew him every time Dunfermline and Kilmarnock played the other we enjoyed gloating to the other, and we'd support the other's club if they played the Old Firm. So never got to see Kilmarnock play but if that guy is anything to on, they're a super nice club and I hope them all the best. 15:57 My favourite thing about St Johnson is a story my dad told me one time. I'm not sure how true the story is but apparently they had to play some German club and the German club were like "Where's St Johnson?" so they looked on a map and couldn't find it. So they called St Johnson up and were like "Where you at?" and St Johnson had to explain they were in Perth....makes me laugh every time. I don't know if that story is true but I laugh regardless. 16:43 I like them because since Elgin and Dunfermline both play in black and white and so do St Mirren, I feel like I gotta be kinda nice to them. 16:49 Time for me to be a little negative. I don't like Aberdeen, their fans are pricks and their stadium has made me sick a few times(If Dunfermline never have to play them again I'll be a very happy man and here's Elgin NEVER have to play them at all). They were the first team I saw play Dunfermline but I ended up with a horrible cold afterwards and I was 10 at the time. The few Aberdeen fans I've met have been complete assholes. Aberdeen fans expect the world then don't turn up, they're also bad sports and they boo their own players for the mildest thing(I mean come on!). Aberdeen deserve to be relegated for just their attitude alone 17:44 I love Ross County(Except won't get to see them next season, you guys just had to turn the tables on Patrick Thistle) and their stadium! I went there for the first time in Secondary School for a Career fair and it was wonderful(We got arrested for not interacting enough). And the matches I've been to for them are wonderful. Silly story, first time I saw them play Dunfermline I needed the toilet so went to the toilet and as I was walking back, the ball flew past my head and hit the wall next to me. Dunfermline got a chance to score as I was just coming back up(This was when they hadn't build their extension so we had to stand) so all I saw was the ball lying in the net. 19:39 My favourite thing about Dundee Utd is....well my Dad went to Uni in Dundee so he has a soft spot for them since he went to their matches while he was living there. And even though I have no connection to them(Aside from going to one match where the Dunfermline fans outnumbered the Dundee utd fans in their own Stadium! Glorious memory, Jim Leishman was back as Dunfermline Manager and I loved that feeling) I also decided to root for Dundee Utd when I can. 21:14 Since I gave Aberdeen a hard time, this is only fair but I HATE RANGERS! I have met nice Rangers fans but they've been far and few between. Elgin in my experience mainly is Rangers based, I rarely see Celtic fans here, except when they're getting on a bus to go down and watch a match. I've seen Rangers play once and it wasn't a pleasant experience, it was In East End Park and again Celtic caused no trouble when they visited but Rangers were not. I don't like anything about them, their badge sucks and they're fans have rarely given me reason to like them. In secondary school I went to see Dunfermline play Celtic in the cup final a few times but when I got back it wasn't the celtic fans I knew who gave me a hard time, it was the Rangers fans.....one of those 3 years I remember Dunfermline had been the ones to knock them out but they were merciless(Even a teacher thought it was funny and he was a rangers fan too!). 22:00 Celtic....I cut them slack but that doesn't mean I like them either. Almost all the Celtic fans I've met over the years have been lovely so no complaints there. However it's hard to like Celtic when they beat Dunfermline 8-1, even the nice Celtic fans I knew laughed at me then but again the Rangers fans made it hell and while it's not fair I don't like Celtic due to the bad memory. I also don't like how some Celtic fans have said to me due to my surname that I should support Celtic(even if only just a little bit), listen you pompous prats just because some ancestor of mine was irish doesn't mean I give half a rat's ballocks about it! I'm Scottish, Born in Aberdeen, Raised in Elgin as a Dunfermline Fan and the next time Dunfermline beat Celtic I'll be cheering from the rooftops! But If Elgin get that honour, I'll never miss another Elgin home game or so help me! Celtic are and always will be, to me, the lesser of two evils and that is final. Sorry but I don't like the Old Firm and I never will like them. 23:35 No it's a great video, mate and I'm glad you're such a positive guy, sorry that I'm not but it got me to think about what I like about the other clubs(I just can't keep my dislike for 4 clubs quiet, didn't touch Falkirk in the comment because if I did I wouldn't be able to stop but I did call them names out loud so there you go sorry about that). I will say I do love most of the scottish clubs! I love the name of the new club coming up from the Lowland league, The Spartans...love it! But was gutted to see Albion Rovers go down, I hope they can come back(Not at the cost of Elgin of course but Elgin need to do better). So please Keep up the great work!
It's so hard in Scotland to get the unbiased ground and be seen not to be leaning or favouring one side of the "Old firm"..You do that extremely well. As a proud Arab I think ur videos are fantastic and I look forward to each new upload . Scottish Football is so much more the the 2 Glasgow Teams.. Big fan of ur Channel.. More power to u.. Arabest...
This was such a brilliant celebration of Scottish Football. Love the fact that there was no biases toward any of the teams. I am sort of biased toward Rangers myself, but my Grampa is a Partick Thistle fan who is called Clyde, and I live in the same town as Clyde's grounds and barring COVID, every year at Broadwood stadium they do a firework display for Guy Fawks night. My favourite thing about Rangers is the total energy of Old Firm matches. The last one the cup semi final, was so good. It just kept going and I'm glad Rangers got that second goal because I wouldn't have been able to stand it if it went to penalties.
Your true interest in Scottish football is much appreciated. Most folks from south of the border are very quick to dismiss the passion and culture that each and every one of the teams in the Scottish football league possess. Of course, the standard and stadium quality is for the most part very dire. However, that is what football is all about to me. Keep it up. Only complaint... When at Dens Park you only spoke to Rangers fans. Dundee supporters are some of the most proud and respectful in the Scottish league, despite being absolutely woeful and probably having the most derelict stadium in Europe.
I'm a neutral with scottish football (being from England) but my favourite clubs are Hearts and Dumbarton. Best thing about Hearts is their fans. Absolutely love them. Had one man come up to me and say in a really thick Scottish accent. "What's an English man like yerself doing at Tynecastle." Told him I was a Hearts fan and we had a few pints in the pub. Love them. And Dumbarton it's definitely their stadium. Best looking stadium in the UK. (Second only to the City Ground...no bias what so ever) Also love Stenny due to FM. Love their mascot.
Great video, loved the facts in it - I had no idea QPR were 3rd overall in terms of Cup wins. Did you know when Falkirk changed stadiums the old ground became a Morrisons? They have pictures up of the old Falkirk teams that played there by the windows. I think my favourite thing about Stenny is that they have a Norway stand (the side closest to Tim Hortons I'm sure) and a following actually in Norway, my friend Kelly was telling me about it. European nights at Ibrox are amazing, I've not been lucky enough to go in person but even watching it on RTV you can feel the electricity and belief. Hopefully we have another night like it with Leipzig 🤞🏻💙
Why not check out some of those teams that are no longer in the Scottish Football League as an update to how they are doing? - Brechin City (Highland League), Berwick Rangers and East Sterlingshire (Lowland League). Maybe even Vale Of Leven and Cathkin Park (Third Lanark)?
What about Cowdenbeath is like Brazil? Umm ... Gordon Brown? OK then, I'll get ma coat. The name of Dumbarton's old ground was worth a mention. It was what it said on the tine. There used to be three Highland League teams in Inverness, each with a clapped out, rusting, but quite big, ground. The attempt to get all three to unite failed because one club was an ultimate refusenik. That's Clachnacuddin. They stayed in the Highland League, but now have a new ground. Dens Park and Tannadice are really close, you reckon? I dunno, you could just about fit a football pitch between them if you closed the road. Arbroath has to be coldest ground in Scotland. It gets bitter there, and it's right on the sea.
The reason why everyone loves Arbroath is that they still hold the record for the largest victory margin in a legitimate game - 36-0 against Bon Accord, 12 September 1885
Been watching a few of the videos of the last few months and tbh, you coverage is worth more than sky sports! Massive kudos and keep the great videos coming for Scottish football.
Interesting that you mentioned the views on that Raith v Dunfermline vid, as it was the first one of yours that I ever watched. Shows that the algorithm is working as it should :)
@William Dryden my now dead uncle lived on the black isle, told me the fan bass covers the whole of easter ross, black isle tain invergordon, alness, conon bridge, evanton strathpeffer, mui of ord even pull a few from ullapool
No, they count all season ticket holders regardless of whether they attended. Match footage tells the real story. Still a very impressive number of STs though.
"Montrose has a statue of a dog quite near the stadium". 🤣I'm an Arbroath fan but even I think you could come up with something better than that for the Mo. Great channel btw.
This is fantastic and love how No. 1 out of the blocks was the Mighty Blue Brazil. A great tour of the SPFL. Doubt that has been done before in one video.👏👏👏
Those 24 minutes flew by. Great video. Might see you at either the Edinburgh derby semi final or the Palace v Chelsea semi following day as I have ticket for both!
Huge fan of this video! I’ve only done two grounds in Scotland, Ibrox and Palmerston Park, this video makes me want to get up there and tick a few more off! Debating heading to Falkirk at some point next season, although there is a few league clubs near by so hopefully I can get a few ticked off. Thanks for the video, great content as always! 👍🏼
I have taken turns on which leagues I enjoy watching more, but I just adore Scottish Football. Helps being a Celtic supporter cause we have fans everywhere. But even here in Ohio I found a Celtic club to watch with every week. It's such a great community.
And onwards Raith march with another exceptional away win against Dundee Utd. I was there today and when Vaughan curled that goal in the mayhem in the crowd was up there with the best I have ever experienced.
Cowdenbeath, do they still have the stock car track? Pretty unique in a football stadium. Used to go there as a teenager. My first football match Hearts v Kilmarnock for the championship in 1964/5. Hearts lost of course.
@@Jack_B_guin_87 I just assumed it was the Ferguson/Thomson/Rangers connection? Nothing wrong if that's the case, I often follow clubs when players move on.
Scottish football is authentic and real, gritty with local fans (aside from the two big glasgow teams and their hordes of glory hunters, the biggest downside to our game)
If you're looking for real old school football ground, throwback to the 70's,like stepping back in time, then Ayr United's ground,Somerset park is a place to go on a Saturday afternoon.
I'm going to make an assessment of you and every post you have made love them all. Can't believe how you have taken to Scottish football so well and how show it so well.I just hope the bias of Scottish football doesn't catch up with you .Ps as a neutral the two teams who are underachieving are FALKIRK AND DUNFETMLINE.
A Dundee United fan, but I have to say that Dundee FC is basically letting Dens fall behind in maintenance. I do get the feeling due to what they say in local media, they do intend on allowing that to continue until they “have no choice” but to build a new one. The city will lose something when they move and I don’t just mean the record of closest clubs!
Please visit Northern Irish clubs. Try the oval of Glentoran Fc and Solitude of Cliftonville Fc, they aren’t rivals but both have good rival games. ballymena v coleraine is also a good rivalry. You will enjoy n.I premiership and gain a lot followers in an improving league.
@@samforbes9467 Yeah. i think united would have got beaten from a great liverpool team in the final and McLean would probably have wanted them in the semi but it was mad days. I wasn't massively dissappointed as I thought united would win it in the next couple of years after that.
Celtic is a club of love and charity ....we dont hate and we play attractive football always....we are a true Scottish team with strong Irish connections and have been and always will be open to all
Yeah, their multi-decades' long ban on playing Catholic players was particularly appalling...oh, hold on, that was Rangers FC of course. @@brianlawrence8401
Coldest I have ever been, ever been, was watching Keith against Rangers in the cup at Pittodrie. Pittodrie as you know is right on the beach with the North East wind whistling in from the North Sea. Rangers won 10-1 with the biggest cheer of the night being the last minute goal for Keith. Followed by the fastest I have ever seen the international stars of Rangers run, from the Keith players, at the final whistle as they tried to claim a memento shirt. Far to cold to be trading shirts on pitch. 😏 Am I right that Pittodrie was the first all seater ground in Scotland?
First all seated stadium yes - 1979, we also invented the dugout in the 1920’s as coach Donald Colman wanted somewhere to get a good view of the players.
Can someone please tell me what team I should be rooting for?! I'm am American who is a Beall from Largo, Fife. Our ancestors came from there and we want to be fans of the right teams. Thanks if you answer kindly.
Good content in your videos, best to sit on the fence with Celtic and rangers even if you do have a favourite, people can be so fickle. Keep up the amazing work 😎
Motherwell and the fact how community centred we are, foodbank deliveries during lockdown, the club giving free season tickets to any fan who bought one last season. list goes on.
What's the best thing about your club???
I support Carlton town fc in Nottinghamshire and the best thing is the fans. your channel is really REALLY GOOD MATE

I’m biased but you should really check out Hibernian’s Scottish cup win in 2016, I’m happy to post you a DVD the club made on it. It’s a great watch!

Found your channel recently and loving the videos mate. Keep it up!
Hero, cheers mate!
The reason why everyone loves Arbroath is that they still hold the record for the largest victory margin in a legitimate game - 36-0 against Bon Accord, 12 September 1885
Dundee beat Aberdeen 35-0 that day as well....i think lol
Bloody cold ground though.
This channel is amazing 👏
Glad you think so mate. Thanks for watching!!
Underrated channel
falkirk has 1 of the best supports in scottish football.. its crazy how much we have fell in 10 years
Best thing about Falkirk is - Brockville no longer exists 😅😂
ye struggling yet still getting 3000+ crowds
@@dontpanicblink facts 😂😂
@William Dryden my now dead uncle lived on the black isle, told me the fan bass covers the whole of easter ross, black isle tain invergordon, alness, conon bridge, evanton strathpeffer, mui of ord even pull a few from ullapool
No, they count all season ticket holders regardless of whether they attended. Match footage tells the real story. Still a very impressive number of STs though.
Love this channel Sam, Keep it up.
Cheers Sam for the mention U Will need to get to Somerset soon
"Montrose has a statue of a dog quite near the stadium". 🤣I'm an Arbroath fan but even I think you could come up with something better than that for the Mo. Great channel btw.
some man for one man ! enjoyed that, you're better at this than most of the mainstream big shots !
Come to Fraserburgh vs Forres, Saturday 16th April, potentially see the broch win the highland league for the first time in 20 years!
Am from perth , but live in essex, still a stjohnstone fan , even though i live may miles from them
This is fantastic and love how No.
Like a trip down memory lane this, great video 👏
Huge fan of this video!
I’ve only done two grounds in Scotland, Ibrox and Palmerston Park, this video makes me want to get up there and tick a few more off! Debating heading to Falkirk at some point next season, although there is a few league clubs near by so hopefully I can get a few ticked off.
Thanks for the video, great content as always! 👍🏼
Go tae easter road if you plan on going again, great stadium in Edinburgh home to the hibs
Love your vids bro
Thank you!! Lots more coming soon!
Absolutely excellent! 👏 👏👏 keep up your great work 👍
Cowdenbeath, do they still have the stock car track? Pretty unique in a football stadium. Used to go there as a teenager. My first football match Hearts v Kilmarnock for the championship in 1964/5. Hearts lost of course.
Hearts lost on goal average. Why was that ever a thing? They'd have won on goal difference. The opposite is true in 86.
@@marctspence still hurting?
My second club is Cumbernauld colts because I played there for 7 years and I have had a season ticket for 4 years.
Cool story bro
Great channel. Love a rangers or Kelty hearts episode
Thanks mate. Lots of both coming up this month!
Why Kelty Hearts?
@@donuttime2507 got a soft spot for them
@@Jack_B_guin_87 I just assumed it was the Ferguson/Thomson/Rangers connection? Nothing wrong if that's the case, I often follow clubs when players move on.
Closing in on 100k. Well done mate.
Great video fella. I love your enthusiasm for Scottish fitbaw ♥️❤️
Great video, I enjoyed that very much !
Got to say love these videos 👌..
Keep up the good work lad 🏴
As an outsider I love the atmosphere at Hearts and personal favourite club is Cove Rangers
Haha, Cove Rangers only fan.
@@Mr_Iain guessing you've never been to the ground then. Lol
@@brynetches3388 Nope never been, no reason to venture to lower league grounds.
I support Rangers been a fan for over 50 years, born stones throw from the ground, just love the fans, their loyalty is second to none.
I guess you must have skipped the early 1980s, then...or were you part of the regular 3,000-12,000 crowds at Ibrox? Loyal, my arse.
I'm delighted you are getting the views and subscribers you deserve
Loving these videos, well done mate
Cool to say a nice thing about every team, keep everyone happy ✌️
Really glad you had so many good things to say about my team (Stenny)
Scottish football is authentic and real, gritty with local fans (aside from the two big glasgow teams and their hordes of glory hunters, the biggest downside to our game)
Come on the stenny! Nice to see sandy featuring in the video aswell
If you're looking for real old school football ground, throwback to the 70's,like stepping back in time, then Ayr United's ground,Somerset park is a place to go on a Saturday afternoon.
Love your work brother
Come to livingston v Motherwell this Saturday we would love to have you
So much love for St Mirren Sam....🤣...still a great video
I'm going to make an assessment of you and every post you have made love them all. Can't believe how you have taken to Scottish football so well and how show it so well.I just hope the bias of Scottish football doesn't catch up with you .Ps as a neutral the two teams who are underachieving are FALKIRK AND DUNFETMLINE.
Great vid ❤️
Legend, cheers!
Elgin has a cathedral, it is therefore a city, case closed, thank you ;)
Yeah think it's because it's so small though.
Not as small as St Davids in Wales or Wells in England though. 😁
@@ianlayton6949 and i bet people still consider them as towns
The chairman of ICT is one of my best mates dad, so outside Celtic I like to check they are doing well!
I like to see them doing well because I have family from up there and its their closest major team. Celtic here too.
Brilliant Sam, loved your review, i am a Rangers fan
Really cool. Hope you've something special planned for 100k?
the bribing thing was rangers with marseille in the european cup
The ref in the second leg of the dundee united roma european cup semi final was bribed.
@@graham2954 oh right cool so both got robbed then
@@samforbes9467 Yeah. i think united would have got beaten from a great liverpool team in the final and McLean would probably have wanted them in the semi but it was mad days. I wasn't massively dissappointed as I thought united would win it in the next couple of years after that.
Celtic is a club of love and charity ....we dont hate and we play attractive football always....we are a true Scottish team with strong Irish connections and have been and always will be open to all
Also bigots
Apart from when you sing about the IRA, disrupting minute silences, trying to attack your manager and players. Yeah, love and charity all round
Yeah, their multi-decades' long ban on playing Catholic players was particularly appalling...oh, hold on, that was Rangers FC of course. @@brianlawrence8401
That's funny cos i've always thought of Brazil as the yellow Cowdenbeath!
Am I right that Pittodrie was the first all seater ground in Scotland?
Think you are right, first all seater and first dugout
First all seated stadium yes - 1979, we also invented the dugout in the 1920’s as coach Donald Colman wanted somewhere to get a good view of the players.
Didn't click Pittodrie was that close to the beach. It's no Gayfield but still impressively close.
Did you see the cup final raith vs queens
Great video again 🚜🚜🚜👍👍👍👍
Thanks again Nick!
Somerset Park - another one designed by Archibald Leitch - someone I’ve heard you mention in other videos.
What stadium is in lego in the background lad?
What football tesm do u support and will u book tickets to hibs hearts semi
You should visit the Phillips stadium in Eindhoven, netherlands.
Skipping the video? I'm more interested in league 1 and 2 than the premiership, despite being a celtic fan.
There are no ferries to Northern Ireland from Stranraer any more. They now go from Cairnryan.
They're only 6 miles apart!
The favorite thing about rangers is the atmosphere I'm a rangers fan.
This lad deserve more subs
Can anyone explain the fact that he said you can just walk into Hamilton's stadium btw man love the vids keep up the good work
Can someone please tell me what team I should be rooting for?! I'm am American who is a Beall from Largo, Fife. Our ancestors came from there and we want to be fans of the right teams. Thanks if you answer kindly.
u really need to get to bayview for a game. either on saturday at falkirk or next season in l2 against cowdenbeath
Good content in your videos, best to sit on the fence with Celtic and rangers even if you do have a favourite, people can be so fickle.
Keep up the amazing work 😎
Mate can u come to airdrie game plz against Dumbarton plz in the 16 of April plz mate I want to see u there I would love it
Motherwell and the fact how community centred we are, foodbank deliveries during lockdown, the club giving free season tickets to any fan who bought one last season. list goes on.
Need to finally get yourself up to a game at Tynecastle mate 👍
Forgot to mention that Dundee United have played Barcelona 4 times in competition and won them all
Shame their fans are seasonal. Only sing when they're winning.
When are you gona come to Ireland mate
Great video. Are you coming to the Dundee Derby on Saturday?
Cool video!!!
Thanks I'm a celtic supporter
Having looked at that map one thing has occurred to me. Does the Isle of Mann have a football team???
Mann Utd
I played pro youth for Dundee all the way to under 21s played in most of these stadiums some great pitches ❤️
Did u ever had to play at Motherwell training ground most shambkes pitch I played for livi at u13
Na buddy only ones I never played was park head Ibrox st Johnstone
Inverness Callie Thistle aren't the only team merger.
I can think of another only because it's my local team.
Great video, I think there is 4 clubs not 3 promoted from the non professional leagues I am sure Annan was a lower league club.
Annan got in through invitation rather than promotion.
Mon the celtic🍀🍀🍀🍀
Can you go to the Ross county Mach
