    - About Dr. Mary Claire Haver and The Galveston Diet -
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a passionate women’s health advocate who believes women in midlife deserve to live their best life. She cuts through fat-shaming and fads, so women are empowered with the science behind anti-inflammation nutrition.
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a wife, mom, physician, and entrepreneur who has devoted her adult life to women’s health. As a Board-Certified OBGYN in the Houston area, Dr. Haver has delivered thousands of babies, completed thousands of well-woman exams, counseled patients, taught residents, and did everything an academic professor and OBGYN could do.
As her patient population aged, Dr. Haver was overwhelmed with the number of complaints and concerns her patients had with weight gain while going through menopause. For years, she told her patients to eat less and exercise more. It wasn't until she experienced the changes of menopause and mid-life weight gain that she realized this advice doesn't work and ultimately led to her creating and developing a new program, The Galveston Diet.
The Galveston Diet is the first and only nutrition program created by a Female OBGYN, designed for women in menopause. The Galveston Diet helps women reach their health and wellness goals through an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition. Dr. Haver believes in food's power to combat inflammation and highly recommends the unlimited benefits of intermittent fasting. As part of her ongoing research, she became certified in Culinary Medicine in 2019, specializing in medical nutrition.

I have been feeling the same way! my periods were always awful but clock work each month then this year, 11 days late in May followed by monster of a painful period then after the period spotting for a few weeks. Back on schedule for two months and then this month a slow starting period that stopped abruptly but came back a few days later with a vengeance. what the heck? my progesterone has been low since I was 32 so that may be at play here too. The anxiety is the worst right now wondering if it's just normal perimenopausal hormone fluctuations or the worst case scenario. How does a cycle go from normal for a few months to irregular and then back again??

      @@curlyandstrong6798 you’re welcome 🤍 trust ME I understand what you’re going through
💭💭 YOU said you’ve been to different doctors 🥼 even cardiologist 🥼 has a cardiologist ordered a heart ♥️ monitor for YOU to wear SO they can catch the heart ♥️ episodes you’re having
💭💭 do YOU notice these heart ♥️ palpitations happen at a certain time of the month 💭 also certain time of the DAY 💭
💭💭 I’m in perimenopause I had a SERIOUSLY scary situation extremely early this morning at 5:47am
💭💭 I already had a heart ♥️ condition before entering perimenopause
💭💭 MY heart ♥️ condition I have is afib ( atrial fibrillation) it’s a SERIOUS living nightmare condition to have (CRY
💭💭 SO I’m at the end of MY fertile week
💭💭 I just passed MY ovulation DAY that’s going by the period 🩸 tracker app calendar
💭💭 I know being in perimenopause WE can’t rely on those calendars but I still do and it’s mostly accurate ONLY a DAY OR 2 OFF
💭💭 I also go by MY SYMPTOMS
💭💭 plus what I see during MY bathroom 🚽 trips that gives ME more information 🤣
💭💭 SO at the end of fertile week phase it’s always the hardest on MY heart ♥️ during fertile/ovulation because of the hormones shifting
💭💭 5:47am this morning MY heart ♥️ started blowing 💣 in some episode
💭💭 I don’t know if it WAS MY afib getting triggered OR WAS it fast 💨 palpitations OR something else
💭💭 I WAS in SERIOUS panic because the trauma of this heart ♥️ condition I have I WAS SO scared I WAS going to end up needing to rush to the hospital 🏥 thank god MY heart ♥️ slowed down from that episode
but I WAS a SERIOUS shaking mess after that
💭💭 I drank some water 💦 to help calm MY heart ♥️
💭💭 that might be an idea 💡 for YOU to TRY when YOU feel palpitations is drink some water 💦 I drink room temperature water 💦 I keep beside ME at all times
💭💭 then as I laid here in bed 🛌 shaking like crazy MY heart ♥️ WAS in another kind of episode like a pounding hard pound mode but that might’ve been from MY anxiety to the damn ass moon 🌙 at that point 🤣
(💭 NOT funny 🤣 but thought 💭 I would make YOU laugh
💭💭 it took a long exhausting time dealing with this as I’m MY heart ♥️ would calm down then start back up in that pounding episode situation finally I ended up falling asleep 💤 as it WAS after 8am at this point
💭💭 SO I don’t know WAS it hormones shifting at the time triggering MY heart ♥️ in that first heart ♥️ episode at 5:47am
💭💭 I think 💭 it might’ve been hormones because MY face (💭 basically it’s always just MY cheeks got hot 🥵 felt like fire 🔥 SO it probably WAS a hot 🥵 flush/flash but I never sweat just hot 🥵 fire 🔥 cheeks
💭💭 also I wondered did MY gastroentrologist issue flare MY heart ♥️ up
💭💭 since perimenopause I notice I have digestion issues that’s another nightmare SYMPTOM a lot of women get
💭💭 I kinda overate tooooo much all at once late ⏰ late ⏰
💭💭 I think 💭 it WAS overload for MY SYSTEM to handle especially if I have slow digestion issues what I’m getting I probably have on top of other things
💭💭 it WAS WEIRD because after the heart ♥️ episode at 5:47am happened I started hearing 👂🏻 like MY digestion/stomach TRYING to digest the food down (💭 I’m guess I’m going by SYMPTOMS sounds
💭💭 SO the to ME also seemed like red flag 🚩 that hormones were probably shifting because things were turn ON like a light 💡 switch in MY SYSTEM
💭💭 perimenopause is a complete living nightmare
💭💭 regarding magnesium there’s many on the market to choose from the best place to get magnesium is go to a GNC OR vitamin shop they are knowledgeable about which YOU need explain the heart ♥️ palpitations tell they YOU want to start out on the lowest dose usually YOU take it at night and it helps calm your heart ♥️
💭💭 MY cardiologist 🥼 plus heart ♥️ specialist 🥼 plus things I’ve researched WE need magnesium it will help calm the heart ♥️ SO hopefully 🙏🏻 that will help YOU
💭💭 I haven’t started magnesium YET but I know I need too and every doctor 🥼 tells ME a different magnesium to take which is SO frustrating
💭💭 I know I need to start on magnesium asap because it has helped many people also people who have MY type of heart ♥️ condition afib
💭💭 when YOU get heart ♥️ palpitations how long does it last
💭💭 give ME more details I’m curious
💭💭 YOU will be ok 👍🏻 it’s hormones that are causing these heart ♥️ palpitations it’s one ☝🏻 of the TOP most complained SYMPTOM in perimenopause
      💭💭 it all SERIOUSLY SUCKS

5g organic RED maca root powder.
      5g organic acerola cherry powder(vitamin c)
Mix all together in a large glass of FILTERED water (non chlorinated, as it will decrease the effectiveness of the MSM) until everything is dissolved.

Like I couldn’t figure out what was going on with my mind and I was scared. Thought I might be losing it!! I read that estrogen, reduction, and fluctuations can bring on anxiety. I am estrogen, dominant it turns out. But anyway, long story short as I’m working to balance, my hormones, I had read that so much of our mental health also stems from our gut Microbiome! I have weaned myself off of the Lexapro that my OB/GYN put me on And I have switched to a high plant-based diet, cut out sugars and processed foods and believe it or not I don’t really get those anxiety attacks now and my depression symptoms have lessened! Have you considered going whole foods plant-based/vegan lifestyle? This has been proven to alleviate those symptoms.❤

That's where my rage started 😅! The hot flashes helped with weight loss until joint pain, hair loss , nausea, vertigo and I couldn't get off the sofa for weeks at a time or over a year! Had a significant amount of stress in my life after one parent passed and had to take care of the other parent who lost a leg at the same time…while also trying to rebuild my own life after a divorce. I was 41 and I feel the stress pushed me into peri menopausal status. I have 2-3 heavy and painful periods a month, I’m severely anemic, brain fog, tired ALL the time, very depressed and anxious, and my body literally just hurts everyday…I never feel good or even just okay anymore. I thought I had cancer. I don’t and very grateful for that but I went to OB and literally the male Dr. said “why are you here?” Very rude and confused. Basically was told there was nothing I could do about it because I don’t want to have ablation or partial hysterectomy to stop the bleeding. I’m also not a good candidate for estrogen birth control to regulate hormones because I have high blood pressure sometimes. I got 2 iron infusions and felt a little better but now I am getting sick again. I’m a community mental health professional and I find it hard to function at my job now because of the brain fog and exhaustion. What can I do???

I could not figure out what was going on with my heart, the feeling in my chest that I would get periodically was indescribable and so scary. My (female) primary doctor sent me to see the cardiologist. I chose a highly rated (male) middle-aged doctor in the network who did tests and concluded that I have a healthy heart and symptoms that I have apparently do not even measure up to his own:) They gave me aspirin pills and said 'see you in a year':) I left with a lump in my throat screaming in my head "I'm not crazy, don't treat me like that". I knew I would not be back even if I was dying. Thankfully, shortly after, my heart stopped messing with my mind😊 I know now what that was, so thank you!❤
