    A new video that surfaced recently, proves that Cristiano Ronaldo really does have a heart of gold. During a Q&A at a promotional event in Japan last year, Ronaldo found himself being questioned by a young Japanese boy who was attempting to speak to the star in his native tongue, Portuguese. As the young boy nervously stumbled over his words, some of the audience began to laugh. Ronaldo was clearly touched with the kid's effort and scolded the crowd telling them they should be impressed at the fact the boy is trying.

    • @u4ea70
      @u4ea70 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      He wasn't trying to help his pronunciation, although it would appear like that if you don't understand Portuguese accents. The kid was speaking in a Brazilian accent. He said "Boa tarde" ("good afternoon") in a Brazilian accent (most Portuguese courses are Brazilian Portuguese), where it is pronounced "boa tarChee" and CR replied by saying the same thing but in his native accent ("boa tarDeh") as he would if a Portuguese person said the same thing to him. Peninsular Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese are mutually intelligible, CR would have thought nothing strange about someone speaking with a Brazilian accent. I am not a native Portuguese speaker and I understood the kid no problem - his Portuguese was perfect. Celebrity ass-kissing media trash picked the wrong celebrity ass to kiss that day. Props to CR.

So for a Japanese kid to get up in front of an entire crowd and his idol and try to ask a question in Portuguese is, to me, extraordinary and to be nothing but commended.

This guy speaks some decent Spanish and back then he said some stupid things. Basically he thinks he is superior than everyone and more than once blames his team, and only his team because they lost a match, but that's just an example. I'm sure people think he has always been a great guy, but people just get news of him when it's about a goal of him or a win or him winning an award.

      Correct - the kid's Portuguese was perfect and the accent was perfect, it is just he was speaking with a Brazilian accent as most Portuguese courses are for Brazilian Portuguese. CR would have thought nothing of someone speaking with a Brazilian accent. He was simply trying to pronounce the kid's name properly - showing the same effort and respect for the kid that the kid had shown to him. It seems media are scum no matter the country. No surprises there.

      Christiano Ronaldo has proven thousands of times that he is absolutely great with his fans and he is a generous person. he certainly has an ego but that brought him to where he is now. if you don't know, he grew up in a very poor family and has a history of being mocked at Sporting CP (due to his accent).
      btw, if you are that good in attacking play you should probably be that guy that remains in front.. ever heard about Madrid's strength in counter attack? who do you think is decisive for this?

    I'll never forget, I studied French all by myself for 2 years, no tutor..no school...I flew to France to meet some female friends I had met online (yes everything was fine, they were who they said) and when we went to a local book shop, I was so excited to try my French...the girl at the register asked me if I wanted a bag..but since I didn't speak much of it, only studied.. I got so nervous and stuttered (I also have an American accent of course) Her and her 2 little friends laughed at me and spoke very fast in French. It hurt me so bad I cried in the bathroom and I quit French until a few months later. People dont realize the impact it has. It's mean and can truly affect someone. BE NICE!!

      Owl. If you need something in spanish ask me and i'll answer

    • @UnaPersonaVioEsto
      @UnaPersonaVioEsto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Owl. If they Say burro they might mean about a donkey the animal,it's in most of the cases but if they Say like "eres muy burro! Or eres un burro!. Etc " they're meaning that the other person is dumb or stupid, depending in the way they Say it.
      When they Say chocó it means " crash or smash" in past, or they might mean about a Colombia's state called chocó. The spanish is a very opened leanguage and one of the main complexities that it has is that the meaning of the Word can change with the context of the sentence and the way of talking. I think thats it... Good luck.
