My first bike was a Venox 250. Although I outgrew it in a few months, it was perfect for my brief learner period - fun to ride, felt like I was riding a couch, and ran on a whiff of petrol. Got more compliments about it than the Kawasaki Ninja I replaced it with; it looks like a big powerful showpiece bike, but it's obscure enough that nobody seems to know it's only a 250cc.
I paid $5000 new and put over 28,000 miles on my 2005 Venox before passing it on to my son. It's 30hp 250cc V-Twin kept up with all group rides. Maguires polish helped keep all the chrome bright. The MemphisShades Del Rey windscreen helped it hit 105mph, (laying down, of course). 5th Gear Customs 2 into 1 header and a HD Sportster muffler replaced the original exhaust.
Thanks for the advice, only problem I encountered during 1st year of ownership is with gas cap, it'd just stall even at high speed...turned out that gas cap is supposed to be vented, but mine was not...I disassembled the gas cap and corrected the stall issue after drilling 2 holes where airflow would go from tank...bike has more power after correcting vent issue.
When I had mine, I did too and yes, it certainly sounded great. And not expensive to do, doesn't require any adjustments to the engine and looks stock even if it doesn't sound like factory unit. At first thought it was very loud but realised after a while that it's still quieter than a Harley, for example, so no worries about complaints from noise police. Once I passed my Full license test, I sold it within 48 hours of posting it up for sale. Still miss the sound... :-D
First recommended valve adjustment is at 7000 then 19000, 31000, 4300, etc...so adjustment is recommended every 10,000 km after first suggested valve adjustment per Kymco.
I prefer quieter bikes. This Venox sounds nice and relatively quiet in this video but sounds noisy to me in your "PART 2" video. What is the reality in person? Thanks. I'm thinking of buying one of these.
I had a Venox some time ago... Ah the joys of this 250! Great bike, great fun and looks at a very, very affordable price I would suggest this mod: th-cam.com/video/WSm5KAZ2jMM/w-d-xo.html If you want a small cruiser that won’t break the bank, you won’t find better! Ride safe!
