I tried sharing it in gaming groups, existentialist groups, simulation theory groups.. nothing. I've watched it at least 10 times.. why can so few people watch it once? Its likely because: a) Its 20 minutes long. They'd probably assume that the ending involves the army guy becoming self aware, breaking the fourth wall and either convincing Blair Trigger to call his sick mom more and/or killing Blair Trigger out of perceived revenge for Blair Trigger taking enjoyment from his suffering 4) the pointed criticism hits too home for most people, even just the beginning paet where its shown that a) Blair Trigger's obsession with videogames is an escape mechanism, b) Blair Trigger is not cool and somewhat of a nerd despite trying his best to be a cool dude, c) even badass super soldiers struggle to deal with and/or escape the boredom and pointlessness of most modern life and d) becoming a badass soldier can likely actually make you life far worse, not better
@@SurprisinglyDeep Quality points raised. I think the length of it pales into comparison to the hours of time that people spend watching a videogame streamer who gets millions of views. Not to mention 40 minute gameplay reveals that the gaming community lap up and engage with en masse. With that in mind, it's extremely well crafted and concise by comparison. In the 12 months since my original comment it's gone from 100k to 250k - just baffles me still, why more people haven't seen it and it's not receiving the viral success that has occurred with previous productions from the same team (Too Many Cooks). Anyone would think the Rick & Morty crowd would be all over this and boost the numbers and philosophy behind it ten fold.
God damn. What a trippy take on the simulation theory. We could be living in a simulation right now, you know - our computing technology keeps increasing in power exponentially, to the point where one day we may be able to simulate an entire universe. And if that's true, how do we know it hasn't already happened?
Any sort of “matrix” style shit like this always throws my wad for a loop, because this could very well be a possible thing that is occurring, but we wouldn’t be able to know.
@@xavierparis2789 That's actually a very valid viewpoint by both cosmologists and philosophers. Many admit it may very well be true, but if we can never know...it's a moot point and doesn't matter. The same argument is used for the theory of the multiverse.
Just like Too Many Cooks, I feel that this short is making fun of repetitious nature of the gaming genre as a whole. The constant use of characters speaking is shown to signify that what they are saying is unimportant. They all begin to drown out each other due to how similar each let's player behaves. Sure, certain characteristics of each character can slightly, but the specifics in this case can hardly matter. The mind control revealed at the end is only meant to further enforce that a majority of the gaming community can at times be extreamly repetitious. That the lack of originality can only lead to an endless supply of people doing the same thing as their internet heroes. That is just my interpretation of the short, I could be wrong idk.
It IS very difficult to be a discerning consumer in this market, but it's not impossible. You CAN find a player who stands out personality-wise and plays the sorts of games you want to see if you're willing to pick through the chaff to find the wheat.
The fact that Xanzicon refers to him controlling the Gamer Girl as human mind control instead of playing a video game (and the fact that Scrooge breaks into his house) implies that Final Deployment 4, The Gamer Girl's world and Alien Invasion 5 are in the same universe
Finally someone who enjoys night mind's content. I agree that night mind shouldnt delve into this beast of a walkthrough since he could be in one of his own walkthroughs right now.

This is legitimately one of the best short films I have seen.
God damn. What a trippy take on the simulation theory. We could be living in a simulation right now, you know - our computing technology keeps increasing in power exponentially, to the point where one day we may be able to simulate an entire universe. And if that's true, how do we know it hasn't already happened?
jean Baudrillard would be so proud! :)
"CANCEL! HOW DO YOU CANCEL!?"
Oh, lady, if you could figure that out, you'd probably get a Nobel Prize.
a bit slow at the start, but I'm glad I saw it till the end. Adult Swim, doing a fine job lad.
Any sort of “matrix” style shit like this always throws my wad for a loop, because this could very well be a possible thing that is occurring, but we wouldn’t be able to know.
Demon Wizard I have a weird thought whenever I start thinking like that.
If my reality and set up is real to me...does it really matter?
@@xavierparis2789 Exactly.
@@xavierparis2789 That's actually a very valid viewpoint by both cosmologists and philosophers. Many admit it may very well be true, but if we can never know...it's a moot point and doesn't matter. The same argument is used for the theory of the multiverse.
Honestly, I think this was better than too many cooks. Both are excellent, but the pacing and payoff here was better.
I’m glad the achievement “all in a days work” is it’s own reward
This is done REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY well! Kudos to those who made this!
This is one of the best AS projects I ever saw
This is fantastic. Rightly so, with all the production and editing
This is one of the best youtube videos I have ever seen, its too bad it only has 200k views, deserves more.
FatNinja I feel you're pretentious.
It IS very difficult to be a discerning consumer in this market, but it's not impossible. You CAN find a player who stands out personality-wise and plays the sorts of games you want to see if you're willing to pick through the chaff to find the wheat.
BunerBall so don’t watch let’s plays then
ive never seen someone's head THAT far up their ass!
"Certain characteristics of each character can slightly..." can slightly what? Hmm, you mean "slightly differ"?
This dude is literally every 80s movie idea of a future influencer
20 minutes well spent. Thanks for the upload, keep em coming.
It's like if Xavier:Renegade Angel and Too Many Cooks had a baby.
MisterOutcast X:RA was funny though.
I love those! But this is better, though.
Taste the pain!!!!!!!!!!!-----
this should have só many views its truly beautiful
I found it funny. I initial thought was there is better funny gaming commentaries on TH-cam but then noticed what they were doing and liked it so
This is like Inception and The Matrix, combined with a heavy dose of psychedelics and a fever dream.
The fact that Xanzicon refers to him controlling the Gamer Girl as human mind control instead of playing a video game (and the fact that Scrooge breaks into his house) implies that Final Deployment 4, The Gamer Girl's world and Alien Invasion 5 are in the same universe
This really spoke to me... and then when I thought it had spoken, it spoke to me again.... and then it rounded things out with a goofy ending 😂
5 minutes in: this is amazing.
15 minutes in: I am far too drunk for this.
The next six minutes are going to be terrifying.
Neat. It's also very self explanatory. I don't even need night mind to walk me through understanding this one. Great job!
Finally someone who enjoys night mind's content. I agree that night mind shouldnt delve into this beast of a walkthrough since he could be in one of his own walkthroughs right now.
Final Deployment IV is obviously better than Final Deployment III, but it lacks the magic of FD I & II. FD IV feels like it had too many cooks.
Which as we all know can ruin the broth
@@walkerg1991 Huh, I don't know if that's true.
20 minutes I'll never get back? That's nothing, imagine the amount of time I'll never get back thinking about this video as it keeps me up at night
This should be a Black Mirror
commissionergordan there's literally a black mirror where a gamer guy gets his mind blasted and repeats a desire to visit his dying/dead mom until he dies
Pawesome Pal... HEY!!! I Like Black Mirror
Pawesome Pal
>Says black mirror is trash
>Has TTG pfp
That was incredible. Incredibly meta and real
I feel this is exactly what happens in RDR2. Super cool heists followed by boring fishing and slowly riding horses while contemplating the duality of man.
wow. the brilliance of this cannot be overstated
Wow, I love this game. took me 72 hours to beat. I had to wait five hours to get the PTSD meds.
I knew it was that time of year agoan for another adult swim video like this
"20 minutes you'll never get back"
This is so insanely accurate holy shit
