"The goal with "Raga Shorts" is to put out singles with short raga and raga inspired improvisations. These improvisations are a documentative snapshot of the greater journey of playing this music on the piano. i've been so fascinated by the idea of what "classical" music would like if it had the opportunity to be influenced by musical traditions outside of 18th and 19th century european composers. this is awesome. and no, i don't think the piano can replicate the vastness or complexity of a traditional raag, but i do think the piano can do some awesome stuff the human voice can't.
