One thing that makes Kundalini yoga especially energizing is this use of the bandhas, internal body locks that help us move this coil of Kundalini energy UP the spine into the hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary glands -- the higher centers of the brain. This boosts our intuition, our ability to focus and sleep, and even our immune system function.
As we move through class today, place special attention on activating your root lock by squeezing your pelvic floor muscles up and in during the pushaway exercises. It should feel like you’re trying to stop urination or trying to suck up the floor through your pelvis. Let me know if you can feel it after class in the comments below!
