We may want to see what we can get for Lindgren, as much as I love him. His style of play just doesn't seem to conducive to a long term career. We may have gotten his best years already. Kinda reminds me of the track Girardi was on. I understand the sentimental value... But I would see what we could get if we shopped him

If you want to win a SC you need D-men who can body the Barkov's of the league off the puck AND quickly move the puck out of your end. There's only so many of these guys out there but we need a couple on our roster going forward.

Lindgren needs to figure out how to stay injury free. He is ALWAYS hobbled at the end of the season.
He would catch a puck with his teeth if he had to. Tough as nails. For that reason he breaks down time to time

HATE to admit it but you're right, remember Dan Girardi, both great players who put their bodies on the line but ultimately wear down. If we can get him for a shorter term though?
I really respect Lingren but these last years have proven that he is too small and not wise enough to keep himself from being in positions where he can be hurt against larger players on the top lines. I think it's time to try Miller on the top line with Fox, and try Schneider and Lingren on the second line. Play Truba on the third line with Zac Jones.
I think Fox with a partner as fast as Miller. We will see him make stretch pass for breakaways.
@@SFLET-up9ll I agree. The one major issue regarding Miller might be seen in the playoffs next year. That's Miller's bad decision making while under pressure.
He was not very good in the series against the Panthers. But, he is still young and I hope he matures to the point where he learns to think faster and handle the pressure better...
If he wasn't Fox's partner would we even be entertaining an extension? He can't move the puck out of the zone effectively and is useless offensively. We got to many guys like that and need to move on. Only RFA worth keeping is Schneider. Other FA's out there cheaper and better than Lindgren. I don't think he's the heart and soul either. I'd give that distinction to Trochek or Igor.
An overtime loss is not "just a loss". Two overtime losses are the equivalent in points as a regulation one loss and one win.
Not sure about him. He is not going to age well and his play is not that great for a top defenseman. He stepped up in the playoffs but I feel like we can find a better defenseman for cheaper. Too risky.

Love you to death Chik but your 1000 PERCENT WRONG!!!! Lindgren needs to be traded this summer while he has value.
1. He's too small to being playing first pair with Fox. You cant have two 5'10 180 pound defenseman playing together. We have seen them get worn down in the playoffs now three years in a row because both are too small for the playoff grind.
2. Lindgren is an OLD 26 with all the injuries incurred already and is going to decline quickly as the league enjoys grinding him into dust every year. He's the human pinball bouncing off of guys in the crease and boards. His decline is going to come quickly
3. There is no mathematical way you can afford to keep Lindgren when you have to give contracts out to Schneider, Miller, Igor and Laf. All have higher upsides then Lindgren in his best career year. You package him and Kakko in a trade this offseason for a big defenseman to pair with Fox to stop teams from beating up on him in the playoffs

Rangers need to be very selective who they deem a core player. The NHL is still a hard cap league.
agree. Lindgren should not be considered in the core and traded. He would be a second pair defenseman on many teams. People forget he was handed the first pair job when traded here because we had nobody to play at that time. Now all the players we have on Defense are better than Lindgren. And that even includes Trouba and Gus!!
You just got finished seeing us getting pushed around and bullied by bigger forwards and defensemen and you want to give the injury prone, small and zero offense player an extension. Lmao

If teams got word we are offering Lindgren 4 x 4 I think a handful of teams would make offer sheets. I think at 26 and his style of play I am around 6 x 5
