    We know you can’t take your music to the next level without a compressor. There are a variety of good budget brands on the market, and many different ways you can use them. The trick is learning to use them appropriately, so naturally, you want to make sure to start with a good affordable unit. I wanted to share this information for those interested, in hopes that it serves useful.

      I'm a little confused, which is the newer model, the Behringer Composer PRO-XL MDX2600 or Behringer Composer MDX2600 V2 ?

    You made this video at the same time that I was purchasing this compressor to use with my Tascam DP32SD.
    🤯
    I’ve been learning from your videos… but the timing… I didn’t know you covered this until just now. Definitely grateful!

    Good morning, I'm asking for some advice.
    How can I connect this compressor to my DX2000 usb mixer to compress the master output signal.
    I use this mixer for broadcasting and I would like to balance all the output channels.
    Thank you
    Giancarlo from Italy

    is it preferable over the Drawmer 1978 regardig sound quality and features?

    The Lo Contour switch needs better explanation. Does High Pass Filter mean it lowers the amplitude of lower frequencies & passes high frequencies (pitch) -- or does it mean that it I passes high amplitude? Does this filter cause a reduction in overall compres sion?

    What does that back switch "Operating Level" do? If you put it in home recording, does that mean that the input is attenuated -10dB, & in studio level input is raised +4dB?-- but I thought this unit had no amplifier.

      Consumer audio equipment and professional audio equipment use different "standard" signal levels. The switch is so you can set the compressor to be sensitive in the correct range depending on if you have consumer stuff or pro stuff. The unit does have an amplifier... the GAIN knob will amplify the signal. It's used to put back the level the compressor smoothed out so that your signal is the correct level again when it leaves the compressor.

    is this processor based on DSP or is it all analog?

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The unit is DSP based. It has Tub simulation\modeling technology built in. Thanks for watching.

    It is hard for me to understand how to use this device. I want to play thunderstorm sleeping music at night & lower the peaks which can startle the sleeper. & I would like to raise the volume of the quietest parts of the audio so that I can make the overall gain more constricted in range. So how should I make the settings? just by fiddling with the controls, I could not hear any effect at all.

      For that I would use a fairly high ratio (5:1 or higher), a very fast attack time (practically the fastest possible), medium-to-slow release time... adjust the threshold to something like -10dB, -20dB... or even -30dB (experiment with this while playing your storm sounds to dial in the effectiveness of the thunder reduction).

    is this device remove hissing sound?

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When using the De-esser, it can help with that a bit for vocals. Otherwise, that's not one of it's functions if I'm understanding your question correctly. Thanks for watching.
